Blagojevich talks: 'Hang loose'

[cnn-photo-caption image= caption="Blagojevich said he wants to tell his side of the story."] CHICAGO, Illinois (CNN) - Embattled Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich said Wednesday that he "can't wait to begin to tell his side of the story."

In the week since Blagojevich was arrested on federal corruption charges, there have been repeated calls for his resignation.

Although Blagojevich, 52, has not commented publicly on the charges, his lawyer Ed Genson said the governor had done nothing wrong and does not intend to step down.

"I can't wait to begin to tell my side of the story and to address you guys and most importantly the people of Illinois. That's who I'm dying to talk to," Blagojevich told reporters gathered outside his home.

"There's a time and place for everything. That day will soon be here, and you might know more about that today, maybe no later than tomorrow."

Asked what it is he wants to say, Blagojevich told the reporters to "hang loose."

Members of an Illinois House of Representatives panel met Tuesday to determine whether there is a basis to impeach Blagojevich.

This guy is totally delusional, should be a Republican. I see he is being advised by R-Kelly's atty, is he hoping to convince us it wasn't him cussing a blue streak, and seeking to monetize the seat for his own gain, or perhaphs drag the process out so long that the people if Illinois forget?

I feel anger in the faces of Lisa and her father Mike Midagan against the governor. Hope something pops up with all the speculations going around. Fitzgard is another person seem to be wanting a job from the Obama's administration through forceful means of smear and speculation.

I didn't get a chance to comment about Obama's TIME magazine Person of the Year. I just want to say Time Magazine represent Obama and his journey very very well. They did an excellent editorial on him, it was well written and I loved the different photos. I'm so proud of Obama I really am.

This man would have been drawn and quartered if he were Republican.

Kinda like Ted Stevens? Oh wait, no he was allowed to continue to run after being actually convicted of many crimes.

Talk about convicting a man in the news, I can't believe how every media has already got him guilty, and Obama the guy thats supposed to be so calm, cool and collective, and a lawyer has asked that he resign even before any thing substantial has been brought forth. Oh ya right, he said she said. Sounds to me like he upset the wrong foe and now its off with his head. Does this have anything to do with his declaration the state refuses to do business with certain financial institutions?

He's gonna talk, that is if he lives to tell. You better believe he knows alot more than many in the arena would care to have made know to the public, including his old bud Obama. You don't get to be a governor and not learn a few secrets about where the money comes from and where it goes.

Doesn't he remind you of Palin and her "can't wait" rhetoric about her ethics charges in Alaska? She "couldn't wait" until McCain's crew got involved and started muddying the waters. She "couldn't wait" until the legislature found her guilty and then it was "politics, can't talk." Same story, different party.

Being from Illinois, I knew he was going to prison two years ago, I just didn't think it would come this fast. He deserves it, we knew it. But for anyone who thinks that Obama is even in the same ballpark is reaching. Obama had and continues to have NOTHING to do with the governor. People can try to draw connections, but they will come up short every time. And before Republicans jump all over this, remember that Ryan is actually doing time for his crimes. Sadly, the governor's office is the corrupt party here, not dems or repubs.

If he were a Republican he would not have gotten caught at all as the feds needed at least one honest person who was close enough to know what was going on to have alerted the feds to the illegal activities.
