Obama team to release Blagojevich report by Tuesday

[cnn-photo-caption image= caption="A report on Emanuel’s contact with Blagojevich will be released by Tuesday, say aides."](CNN) - The Obama transition team is planning to release a report by tomorrow detailing contact between his staff and embattled Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich, transition aides tell CNN.

The president-elect himself is not expected to comment publicly on the results of the internal investigation, which reportedly detail one conversation between President-elect Obama’s chief of staff Rahm Emanuel and Blagojevich, and several others between Emanuel and the governor’s top aide.

The Illinois governor was arrested earlier this month on charges of attempting to sell Obama’s Senate seat.

Blagojevich complained during one conversation recorded by the FBI that Obama and his aides were unwilling to compensate him for naming a candidate of their choosing to the seat.

U.S. Attorney Patrick Fitzgerald in Chicago has said that Obama was not a target of the investigation. Sources have also told CNN that Emanuel has not been implicated in the case.

Obama says he admires President Lincoln. Then why is he acting like Nixon?

Ummm, do some of you posters already know what is in the report?

Do you know what conversations were spoken between (blank) and (blank) and maybe even (blank)?

I say "blank" because we don't YET know what went on.

So how can we have an opinion?

So what if Obama's camp talked with Blago's camp?

Some of you republicans- Oh, I'm sorry. I mean some of you Conservatives and Independents (since that seems to be the latest fad amongst your party to seem like logical, independent thinkers) need to get a grip.

Fitzgerald has shown himself to be completely nonpartisan when it comes to following the law and letting the chips fall where they may. If there is wrong doing present, I expect him to ferret it out. Otherwise, I just hear a lot of sour grapes and impotent finger pointing and hand wringing.

The bottom line is Obama and his STAFF told Blago to take a hike when it came to greasing his or his wife's pockets.

He and his wife are on tape screaming f- him and his staff. He called Obama a MFer.

You people are so blinded with dogma or racism (at times the two are extremely hard to differentiate) that it is clear you will take all of the benefit and reap the rewards of his administration but spit everytime you say his name. Pathetic. You are not a true American.

Saying Obama and/or Emmanuel had nothing to do with Blago while Obama was either serving as an Illinois or United States Senator is like saying the Federal Reserve has nothing to do with managing the US money supply.

Politics in Illinois – particularly when the Democrats are in the Statehouse – is run from Chicago. Obama cut his political teeth in Chicago with Rahm's help not only there but in Springfield & then Washington.

Anybody who held office as a Democrat in illinois in the last 6 years is suspect, and had dealings with Blago & Daley in order that they might keep their jobs. That's simply the way it works here.

Puh-leeeeeeze... I've actually read comments where people are saying this is a big MSM cabal designed to make Obama look bad.

Yeah, if the media is an enemy to the democrats, then hell has truly frozen over in our recent nation bout with "global warming."

Folks, the media would actually like to be MORE in the tank with Obama, but they can't... because they keep slipping and sliding in their own slobber and drool everytime The Annointed One opens his cigarette-holster to deliver a holy prounouncement, most heavenly and inspiring from the gods. Peace be with him, our Lord and Savior Barry-O Fancy-Pants.

I've lived in IL my entire life. Anyone who's been here knows that Obama and Blagojevich are not what you would call friends (I don't think it's common to say "F-him" about a friend). Blagojevich is a crook, but did we have a better choice when Ryan was on his way to the pen? No. Personally, I think he got too big for his britches and the rest of the Chicago political machine gave him just enough rope to hang himself, then turned him in. He is not well liked in the state, even by the rest of the Democrats. Don't forget that Obama is not a native Illinoisan, and hasn't lived here nearly long enough to be made.

People, remember Obama initially said that no one in his office had any contact with Blagojevich–his words!!! So either
    A. He lied
    B. He doesn't know what's going on in his own staff.

Neither option bodes well for Obama.

Hold on there. I may be a white conservative Republican who watches Fox news and voted for McCain, BUT that does not mean that I am a bigot or racist. I do not care if the President of the United States is purple with blue dots as long as he continues protecting my rights as an American citizen. I have a few concerns about some of Obama's ideologies. To me, he is too "big government". I really don't want help from the government. Like Reagan I believe the "the government is the problem".
Obama and I may disagree, but will still be my president. So don't call me names and imply that I'm a racist.

MSM is now no better than the tabloids.

Of course, Obama's aides had contact with the Governor's people. It would be incredibly odd if they hadn't!

    Journalism is DEAD.

You empty air-heads at CNN are really driving this one in the ground. Why don't you wait until there is news before you try to create the future news?

This is just typical Republicans trying to make something of nothing. Of course there was contact, DUH, you think Hillary Clinton was not on the phone with the gov of New York? There is SUPPOSED to be contact. The fact that CNN and you rediculous republicans are keeping this alive just shows how FREAKING SAD and PATHEDIC you really are.

All politicians are crooks. I say we (voters) start imposing term limits on every politician by voting them out after ONE term. Maybe then they would realize they need to listen to us and do what we want.

What I think is interesting in all of this is that all of the investigations are done in house by the Obama team. I find this very peculiar as this could be a very easy way to make the findings extremely slanted or even flat out incorrect. I believe that an independent team should be making the findings, not people on Obama's payroll. Corruption is possible for any man...

The media likes to sesatinalize things like this. It's like all the media outlets are turning in to tabloids as opposed to giving news. The Chigaco Sun Times was about to leak the tape to the public ever before Filtz Patrick had the chance to nail this guy. Now all media is doing is trying this case in the media before ever the Prosecutor has the chance to present his case. If the media is talking about how Bush Adminstration conducted torture and sent us to war in Iraq, they would serve American puclic better. I guess the only people interested in what Obama's Transition team did or didn't do are those who have no life but other's to talk about. The economy is bad. Find a solution to it. Surely talking about this case doesn't solve the problem America has right now.

  22. So What

If there was an innappropriate link between Obama and Blabovich the GOP propaganda machine would have exploited it already.

As for Chicago politics, a news flash: they've always been corrupt and always will be. The voters there don't hold their officials to a higher standard and so choose psycho megalomaniacs like Blago and his lovely foul-mouthed wife.

Let's see ... If I call a friend and say that I just slept with a well-known married actor, and the phone's tapped, does the FBI immediately start questioning all the well-known married actors in my vacinity? Of course not. I'm truly not of one opinion or the other, but right now, the case has only proved that Blagoyevich SAID this, not that "it" actually happened. Please ... whatever the truth, the government deserves to lose this case because they publicized it before thet had a real case – pathetic!

And ... I'm sure all those who think the Obama team's "guilty" didn't vote for the man anyway. Duh!

This type of Blago activity comes from having a rich daddy-in-law set you up in office. When one is handed everything like this, one tends to become too big for their britches and thinks they can do whatever they like and get away with it, because daddy will handle everything. I'm sure this kind of behavior goes on more often than not. When he tried to butt heads with a powerful institution such as a major newspaper, that's when heads roll. They were out to get him and there was nothing he could do about it. The popular media runs this country. This is proof that it's not a good idea to anger them. Blago is an example. Poor guy stepped on the wrong toes.

I think when the Govenor's Blago-sphere crumbles, he going to take everyone with him, including Emmanuel.

Do you have some special knowledge of this situation? If so you should inform the FBI; otherwise, you are just wishful thinking... Maybe you belive the crap Fox is dishingout like the way they try and connect the dots between Obama and this scandle. Fox generates this crap to feed the hungy, angry, bitter republicans to stop the wide spead exodus from the Repubican party like rats from a sinking ship.
