Obama team to release Blagojevich report by Tuesday

[cnn-photo-caption image= caption="A report on Emanuel’s contact with Blagojevich will be released by Tuesday, say aides."](CNN) - The Obama transition team is planning to release a report by tomorrow detailing contact between his staff and embattled Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich, transition aides tell CNN.

The president-elect himself is not expected to comment publicly on the results of the internal investigation, which reportedly detail one conversation between President-elect Obama’s chief of staff Rahm Emanuel and Blagojevich, and several others between Emanuel and the governor’s top aide.

The Illinois governor was arrested earlier this month on charges of attempting to sell Obama’s Senate seat.

Blagojevich complained during one conversation recorded by the FBI that Obama and his aides were unwilling to compensate him for naming a candidate of their choosing to the seat.

U.S. Attorney Patrick Fitzgerald in Chicago has said that Obama was not a target of the investigation. Sources have also told CNN that Emanuel has not been implicated in the case.

There are so many angry, delusional people posting here, it's sad. They keep ignoring the facts and bring up disproven theories just because they are so full of anger.

    1. The Attorney General asked the Obama team to delay releasing the internal investigation findings. It's not a plot by the Obama team or the MSM.
    2. Obama has been shown to have had absolutely no illegal, improper or even the appearance of illegal or improper dealings with Rezko. Period. Asked and answered in a court of law.
    3. ACORN and any other voter registration group MUST, BY LAW, turn in all registration forms that their workers turn in to them. ACORN has consistantly flagged suspect registrations and fired and helped prosecute people who worked for them and turned in fradulent voter registrations.
    4. PE Obama is definitely a natural born citizen of the US. Period.

When you keep bringing these things up as valid questions, you only make yourself look stupid. Please stop, we're tired of hearing this stupid blather from you sniviling idiots.

I love Barrack but really he's no less tainted than any other politician (especially politicians from Chicago, Ill.) He represents hope and racial/social change, and I think he caresabout us more than Bush but let;s not hold him up to an unrealistic standard....he is a politician, not a saint.

This country is far from being on its knees. And if one person could achieve such results, then the American people do not have the fortitude, strength, integrity and honor that I believe we do. Many people on both sides of the aisle have made mistakes that have brought on the difficulties that we face today. If you believe otherwise, you are ignorant and part of the problem. Enough of the partisan hacks.

We all have got to start accepting. . . . THE TRUTH !!! And here are some basics truths:

    – Truth on the Illinois Gov. Scandal: SIMPLY READ THE TRANSCRIPT! Reading the responses below, some of you clearly didn’t read the transcript and choose to continue to stick with the same partisan CRAP!

    – Truth on the Auto Bailout: The Mgmt and the UAW at the Big 3 MUST match the salary and work rules currently in place at the Toyota, Nissan and Honda plants here in the US who aren't receiving the bailout. If foreign manufacturers can come here and do it - so can the Big three. Historically, I’ve backed unions but this has gone too far. Both management AND THE UNIONS are the reason why American Car manufacturers can’t compete. Accept it. It is the truth and we all know it.

    – Truth on the Iraq war: We should never have gone to war and we need to exit ASAP. Furthermore, Bush and Cheney are underhanded, lowdown, racist crooks and they both should be charged with crimes against the state.

    – Truth on McCain / Palin: Come on people – it was a JOKE! You all know it! As soon as I heard it, I immediately said to myself: . . . “and with that pick, McCain has just handed the Presidential Election over to Barack Obama on a Silver Platter” . . . and I’m glad he did!

    – Truth on Energy: We clearly can (AND MUST) move away from oil and other fossil fuels. There are already promising explorations into alternative fuel sources including salt water (See YouTube video). Unfortunately, ExxonMobil and other powerful corporations are fighting it. When we get rid of oil, we will stop making the Middle East even more wealthy and put our ourselves in a better position to truly do what’s right in the middle east and save the planet.

WHAT OTHER TRUTHS ARE YOU WILLING TO ADMIT (e.g. Healthcare, education, etc)??

So what if Obama aid spoke with this guy, whats that got to do with what this guy was attempting to do,not only that it appeared that only talk was done,no money exchanged hands so maybe we should not follow the media and rush to judgement so fast, lets let the justice system do their job first.Folks seem to be so quick to hange President Elect Obama out to dry.

I'll put my money on the honesty and integrity of Obama and Emmanuel. The Illinois govenor appears to have some mental issues. Let's wait until the facts are released in a few days.

What DO you people expect? Obama rose from the muck of Chicago politics with all those sleaze bags supporting him. Did you think he was a boy scout or something?

And, ladies, what did YOU expect? I see a CNN article on how disappointed women's groups were that there are so few women in cabinet level positions. They said they'd hoped for "progress."

This is OBAMA, girls. Remember what he did and his surrogates did with Hillary? Were you not paying attention??

The big lesson for women, in case you missed it, is stay out of politics. If Hillary with all that money and support and 18 million votes could not get past the Obama boys, who can?

The answer is no woman any time soon. Look what Obama and the DNC (which he moved to Chicago for the odor of it all) did to HRC. She had MORE VOTES than Obama. So they discounted them, put obama in (reminds me of Bush 2000), then, in a magnanimous gesture the night before the convention, gave both Michigan and Florida back ALL THEIR VOTES!!

Golly, what a guy. And now we've got him for years. Lucky us. The cabinet is good because it's a re-hash of the BILL CLINTON (oh, no!) staff. Bill know how to pick 'em, and Barack knows how to pay attention and BE LIKE BILL!

You wait and see….Obama is just as corrupt as most politicians. He is smarter, but just as corrupt. He had Emanuel do the dirty work, but he was involved in wheeling and dealing for the Senate seat. This is the way of the political world! Sure, he was smart; he had Emanuel as the face of the negotiation, but he is just as slimey as the rest of the politicians. You people that think Jesus Christ has arrived (sobbing in Grant Park at the rally), and that he will change anything, YOU HAVE BEEN DUPPED!! WAKE UP!

Wake up folks! Our country is in a pretty big economic mess by any measure or standard.

As long as the American people keep believing this hogwash about left and right we'll never come together and solve our problems.

Issues are not republican or democrat they are human issues, right or wrong, things you agree, oppose or can be unsure about.

Our corporate owned media have become experts at presenting issues as though there are ONLY 2 VIEWS on any issue.

Why? Because the corporations that own them want you to believe there are only 2 ways to look at an issue. It's like the government or someone trying to impose on you that there are ONLY 2 COLORS: BLACK AND WHITE.

You'll say to me: that's foolishness everybody knows there are more colors in the rainbow than 2!!

Exactly right, yet most people turn around and act as though there are only 2 alternatives that the media is imposing on us.

How can you know if your views are right, unless you have read and studied the other alternatives and know what they are about ?

This is the downfall of America people, every American surrounds himself/herself with only things that agree with their ideas and beliefs, WHICH LIMITS AND CUTS OFF PUBLIC DISCOURSE AND DEBATE. We need more ideas and debate in the public square and we are getting less and less. Politics is off the table for average people.

For a healthy alternative the the official junk fed to us by the media (which is really the same stuff much like the 2 parties) check out the way this will make for a great exercise in democracy too since ours tends to be a DUOCRACY with only 2 parties and 2 points of view imposed upon us.

  18. Chicagoan feed up with this garbage

Obviously somebody from the Obama camp talked to Blagojevich (or G-Rod as we call him in Chicago) but since when is that a crime to talk to someone? Next thing you know they’ll push for impeachment of every politician from Illinois and outside of Illinois that's ever spoken to or met with the governor. After that they can go after every private citizen that’s dealt with him in the past as well as anyone who’s attended any of his speeches and shook his hand. Will this madness never end?

I’m not saying G-Rod is innocent, he’s been under investigation for years and as an Independent Illinoisan I’m extremely proud to never have voted for him

I do think the Obama haters are trying way too hard to link his team to this mess to make Obama and the Dems look bad in preparation for 2010 & 2012. Why not focus on fixing the mess Bush created instead of the next election cycle?

  19. BO is just B.O.

The democrats who blog on this page disgust me.
They are so quick to hand any republican, so quick to blame Bush for the country's woe's, (let's not forget it is a democratic congress in power, clinton who took down the banking industry with Fannie Mae along with a woman with a cigar while letting Bin laden get away, Pelosi and Reid who just don't have a clue, etc), yet whenever something goes against a democrat they cry foul and it's not trye and it's sour grapes.

    How hipocritical.

All I got to say where there's smoke, there is fire and it is smoking like a hippie at woodstock around Obama.

Why was the wire tapping stopped before before the 'new senator' - Obama's replacement - has cut a deal with Blago? If you think the newly elected Commander-in-Chief is not in command, you are in political hibernation.

And so what if Obama's team had contact with the Governor? Big deal. Is it a proper thing to do if any Governor is going to replace any senator, for that Senator or his team to communicate with the former Senator? Is the press saying that Governors in other states don't communicate with former Senators when they are trying to replace them?

The media always make big deal out of nothing. I believe that any one from Illinois state that feel that they are qualify to be the next state Senator has every right to contact the proper channel even if is the Governor.

I am really getting tired and sick of all these allegations against the President elect Obama's team. There is nothing wrong if chief of staff Rahm Emanuel communicated with the governor. He has every right to talk with the governor of who is replacing the former Seantor's seat being that is his boss seat. Was it the next Senator going to being brief by the president elect about his former seat who he represents?

I believe in Chief of staff Rahm Emanuel as a law biding citizen, and May God guide him and the rest of the president elect Obama's team.

May God take control of those evil people out there who are trying to do anything to destroy or false allegations against the next administration.

The press should be concern of this so called governor shameful corruption trying to sell a senate seat. I still believe that the Governor did what he did intentionally out of spitefulness.

jjd – Obama did not say that no-one had contact.

He said HE did not have contact – and they were going to research who may have. That is why they had a report.

All Democrats are crooks, especially from Chicago. Also all Democrats have no family values, example; Clinton with Monica, JFK screwing all women he could get his hands, Jesse Jackson out of wedlock child. Ted Kennedy drowning, old man Kennedy with Gloria Swanson, etc. What is sad is that all Democrats worship these guys. I can't believe it. Sad day in America. I hope for Democrats sake Obama stays clean.

Typical for people to judge before the verdict is in, especially with the President Elect any little thing to try and make him or his administration look bad. Especially over something already said hundreds of times that he and his staff did nothing WRONG!!!

Again, anything to try an tarnish his name. ANYTHING!!!
