Obama team to release Blagojevich report by Tuesday

[cnn-photo-caption image= caption="A report on Emanuel’s contact with Blagojevich will be released by Tuesday, say aides."](CNN) - The Obama transition team is planning to release a report by tomorrow detailing contact between his staff and embattled Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich, transition aides tell CNN.

The president-elect himself is not expected to comment publicly on the results of the internal investigation, which reportedly detail one conversation between President-elect Obama’s chief of staff Rahm Emanuel and Blagojevich, and several others between Emanuel and the governor’s top aide.

The Illinois governor was arrested earlier this month on charges of attempting to sell Obama’s Senate seat.

Blagojevich complained during one conversation recorded by the FBI that Obama and his aides were unwilling to compensate him for naming a candidate of their choosing to the seat.

U.S. Attorney Patrick Fitzgerald in Chicago has said that Obama was not a target of the investigation. Sources have also told CNN that Emanuel has not been implicated in the case.

Truly amazing how Politicians play these games of "we'll release report when people are shopping for xmas, we'll deny and then stall and stall until it becomes old to people, we'll prepare report on US (how laughable).
We know we have more of the same, and more than likely worse.

Wow, this is change. A scandel while still President-elect.
Actually, this is a case of Obama's inexperience showing. He should have refrained from initially commenting until he and his people could huddle up and agree on a story to present to the country. Not doing this and denying any contact allowed the story to grow and flourish when evidence of contact began to surface.
I hear now Obama will make Rahm Emanuel the fall guy so Obama can say turn the page and refuse to answer any more questions. That's his style and what he did with Revrend Wright and then his church.
It is a little disappointing that Obama missed the point that it's not the incident that is the problem, it was the coverup, or in this case, the attempt to immediately dismiss the issue.
This learning while you go politics is going to keep him stumbling here and there, I fear.

I don't get why people are still saying he's lying. Of course someone had some contact with Blago, I mean he is the Governor of Obama's state! The Attorney General himself said there is nothing to implicate Obama, but I guess some just continue to hate him for the sake of, well, hate.

Hey CNN – never let the facts get in the way of a scoop – or GOP talking points.

    Rabid speculation is not news!

Are there ANY real news journalists left?

Rahm Emmanuel should resign immediately. This is the wrong foot to start off this new administration. Obama promised a new poltics and implied he would run a very corruption free and transparent government. The first step would be to do the right thing and ask Emmanuel to step down and replace him with a chief of staff that has a squeaky clean resume. It would go a long way to rebuilding the credibility of the Obama team that has unfortunately become somewhat tarnished.

MikefromWV – I'm sure you were begging people to do the same for Bush!

Elariia – Wake up! The MSM's in the tank for Obama!

Notice how the GOP isn't on every news show demanding Emanuel resign? I guarantee it would be a different story if this was a Republican.

Obama will do what Liberal Dems always do – DENY DENY DENY and then refuse to acknowledge any questions about the situation. (Rangel, Dodd, Reid, Jefferson just to name a few.)

    4th-read the report. Then,if ? are needed,ask.
5th- when is the investigation to get under way with cheney/bush

Barack Obama is very much involved in Blago case. Truth will prevail. What a shame... Even before hs is sworn in, he has played it...

Good to know that Obama told the truth from the beginning. None of his people talked to Blago about making a deal.

Thank goodness we finally have high ethical standards in our leaders. Thank you PE Obama!

Well, now that the Democrats just spent the last four (or eight) years sabatoging our country by working against President Bush, let's see how well they can cover up Obama's (a Chicago politician) ties with another Democratic crook! Anyone who spins his answers as fluently as Obama can't be all bad -- or can they? Long live Democracy, even as we sink into Socialism.

And it begins again. NOT the "corruption" the repugs are crowing about on talk radio and in posts here, listening to brainless idiots like Russ and Hannnity spew their mightiest - what begins again is the CONSTANT attacks from Repugs on the incoming president-elect. Anybody remember Clinton? He was the most heavily investigated and persecuted man on earth well before he became president - and it only continued. Worst they could find was he wasn't the best husband in the world. This provided us with Bush, who has given us EIGHT YEARS of lies, innuendo, and outright theft. His family is DIRECTLY connected to the Bin Laden family. Cheney is DIRECTLY related to Haliburton. Look at what that's given us.

Now, before Obama has a chance to even START putting the pieces back they come again. More than willing to let the COUNTRY FAIL to try and make their party look better.

Who are the REAL Americans in all of this? Those of both parties who are willing to join hands and help the current administration actually try and fix the completely broken country we've been left.

I leave it up to you what you should consider those who would not work toward solutions...

Face it, DC is already the most corrupt place in America. Why else would you have 10K or more lobbyist in that city pray tell. I did not vote for Obama and I do not believe the spin being put out by the Dem's that he did not have contact with the idiot Governor. Some of the posts I see here are from ignorant folks that did not graduate from elementary school. How do you define a "Government by the uneducated"? Answer, a Democracy. Bring on the fairness doctrine to stifle dissent Barak Hussein Obama. It is a shame instead of bailing out the people, we chose to bail out the banks and the UAW. What next?????

I read the conversation went like this (paraphrase):

    Rahm: We want Jarrett.

Blogo's team: And all we'll get is appreciation?

    Rahm: Yes.

I really don't see how that is a sin of omission.

Governor needed "COMPENSATION" to appoint a person to a vacant senate seat?

I think the TAX payers pay the Governor to do this job as part of his DUTY. If he ask more money from others to do the JOB, that is bribery which is a crime in any civilised society.

But Obama has all the rightful interests to appoint a person to his seat to represent his policies as a Senater. That is a right political act.

But selling a Senate Seat is a fraud and the governor must be behind the bars for soliciting BRIBE!

President-Elect Obama knew well before that Gov. Blagojevich is a corrupt politician, that was why Obama had decided to stay away from the Gov. through out the entire campaign. But this Gov. felt left out and since he's always been unethical individual, he's wanted to cash in when his opportunity arises, but fortunately Obama's team has had enough and they turned in the crooked Gov...
