WASHINGTON (CNN) - Vice President-elect Joe Biden pledged Tuesday that there would be no earmarks in the stimulus plan that he and President-elect Barack Obama are proposing to jump-start the economy.

"It’s important for the American taxpayer to know that it’s not -– and I want emphasize this having served many years in the Senate –- this is not going to be politics as usual," Biden told reporters, after meeting with the transition team's economic advisers.

"...There will be - I will say it again - there will be no earmarks in this economic recovery plan. I know it’s Christmas. I know it’s the Christmas season. But President-elect Obama and I are absolutely determined that this economic recovery package will not become a Christmas tree," said Biden, who said the administration would "spend what we need to turn this economy around, and no more."

CNN reported over the weekend that Obama transition aides were hinting that no pork or earmarks would be in the package.

Pork should be something we eat not something we give to special interest groups by senators for their state. If our senators would do what our founders wanted which is to serve the United States and not just their own states a lot of our problems would not have occurred. Greed and power is our #1 problem and until that gets fixed we will not get back our country so we as a people must demand our elected officals start to work for the people and stop all pork.

Indeed. The louder these biteless dogs bark, the safer you can feel that Obama's probably on to something.

Did you have permission to say this, Joe? Also, is it me who you think will pay for all your liberal whims?

Wow, the Obama people have to keep this guy in a closet. News Flash, this is the US Gov't getting ready to spend almost 1 trillion dollars, most of which will be PORK anyway. If they try to feed this type of double speak too much even the MSM may question it.

Biden is going to make the next 4 years very interesting.

I say give it a chance! It has to be a better idea than Trickle Down Economics, which has only made the rich richer! Hey, what about accountability! Did someone just give all those bankers a Merry Christmas present? And none of that has trickled down to anyone, but themselves!

    Just saying... 🙂
