As Bush, Obama met for power lunch, so did their staffers

What a treat for the Bush staffers to meet their future counterparts in the Obama Administration – they get to meet real intelligent people with a lot going on between the ears instead of the usual no-mind mentality that tends to live at 1600 Pensylvania Avenue today!!!

By the way folks, TCM is a paid, RNC poster!!! You can tell by the constant stream of misinformation and the Limbaugh-like delivery!!! TCM appears on many blogs spewing the same appeal-to-the-trailer-park crowd nonsense!!!

Why is he getting advice from former Presidents? He has lots of experience, or so they tried to tell us during the election cycle. Don't tell me that a politician actually fibbed (gasp!!).

The idea of Bush having a power lunch with anyone is laughable. Still I shouldn't snicker this shows his serious side, after all he took time out from riding his bike and watching cartoons. I wonder if they had a coloring table mat for him?

Laverne: So I guess when the Obama team specified that Bush has been unbelievably accomodating, you just blocked that out of your mind?

The Porn Bailout article gets over 300 comments in minutes and they close off the comments. Write something intersting and engaging and you close it off. Brilliant

    @ TCM

You're right...because a new position that will be paid something like $150,000 per year whose primary focus 14-18 hours per day will be to help figure out how to cut billions of dollars in spending...that's just too expensive and totally irresponsible. Idiot.

Hopefully Bush's staffers smacked Obama's staffers around a little bit, to knock some sense into them.

People have to talk with each other in order to get things right. Let them talk so as to get us out of this terrible state of affairs this country now faces. But after the talking, do things right this time and I expect such will be done now rather than in Bush's administration! Thanks a lot, George!

I hope the hyper-partisians on both sides are beginning to understand the obvious, which is "we are not a blue america or a red america, we are the United States of America".

The sooner folks understand this fact, we can set about the serious business of restoring our nations greatness and get through this economic mess we have been dealt.

  15. Get over it

One thing is for certian, at least the White House won't be TRASHED when Bush leaves office like it was when Bush took over from Clinton.

What was it, about $38,000 of damage to the White House that Bush had to deal with when he took office??????

From the look on George H. W. Bush's face, it is obvious that Obama was not his choice for President!

I got news for you, George H. W. Bush - you do NOT decide who the next President will be, the American people do !!

hey unknown I am also a Christian but know several NON Christians who object to supporting "faith based" projects with their money, as do I so why cannot I keep MY money used for these things and help adopt more children? (I do this instead of berate their mothers who know they cannot raise a child so opt to abort, I talk with them and adopt their children, the only money I pay is for the mothers/childs medical bills up to two weeks after delivery) so donot speak for me,if you cannot accept the fact that in America everyone has the same rights then maybe you SHOULD leave this country I spent 21 years defending!

TCM no he did not pick anyone for that position unlike bush he knows what he knows and therefore knew he could handle that function all by himself... maybe if your god bush had talked to say even his FATHER we would not be in the mess we are in now remember daddy bush said goinginto iraq was a bad idea!

@ No Hillary = No Obama

Hate to tell you, but there's plenty of women in politics now too and they've proven to be no different...male or female you could stick the whole lot of them in a Summer's Eve bottle and nobody would know the difference.

Laverne. I'll give you a clue, so you don't have to buy one (kind of like libs hope the gov't will do for them on everything from now on).

Obama asked for something out of the ordinary, to be treated special, and stay in the BH before the 15th. Hello? You (and Obama) really think it's sitting vacant, especially in the last few weeks of Bush's Presidency???? As the President-elect likes to say when things get tough - there's only one President. Which means Bush can use it as he sees fit, and DID make sure it was available from the 15th on - like for every other incoming President in the past!!!

You're pissed because Obama didn't get special treatment????Sheeesh. By ANY measure, the Bush team has been far more accomodating than Clinton.

Quite ironic the power lunchers discuss government waste on the same day Laura Bush debuts the new White House china, valued at a cool half-million. This government has no concept that average Americans are struggling to eat simple foods on paper plates. Get real, Washington, and start living like the people you're governing!!

    Len and Susie,

Which is why Obama couldn't go two sentences without blaming and trying to link McCain to "Bush's failed policies"?
