Daschle, a national co-chair of Obama's presidential campaign, represented South Dakota in the Senate from 1987 to 2005. He served as the Senate Majority Leader from 2001 to 2003.
The Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee is chaired by Sen. Ted Kennedy.
In a bipartisan gesture, Daschle was formally introduced to the committee by another South Dakota Democrat - Sen. Tim Johnson - and former Republican Senate leader and 1996 presidential nominee Bob Dole.

I didnt think I was qualified to be President but after this election, count me in........I am working on a new catchy slogan that should win it for me. I figure all I have to do is promise hand outs and I am golden.
New Slogan for 2013 "Free" "Money". that will sucker all you in
DE you are a mess. Wishful thinking on your part. As far as Daschal is concerned....always liked the guy but I am not sure how qualified he is for this particular position.
What does this guy know about Health and Human Services – nothing. He was appointed as a pay back by Obama. Politics as usual. He and his wife have enriched themselves through their political connections. Obama politics – business as usual.
Daschle is to be the point man to try to ram through Hillary-Care II. That should finish off what is left of the economy.
looks like educational system is failing – just look at bloggers – no helpful critisism – just lots of negative ramblings – left up to you nothing would or could change -
thank the great spirit that someone like obama was elected – shows that there is still hope – this country still has enough gumption to try something new – just like at its founding!
Democrats "Emploding". First, learn to spell. How quickly thugs like you forget the past history, starting with Ted Stevens. People like you love to trash everyone else. It must be nice being an armchair quarteback!
What a laugh – bush supporters talking about dem scandals!!! You folks are obviously deaf, dumb, blind or just absolute morons to have missed and dismissed the disasterous bush admin. Grow up and take a reality check.
Jazz....you been sampling the cooking sherry again?
