Palin accuses media of 'personal, salacious' reporting

Palin lashed out at the media in a Friday statement.

Palin lashed out at the media in a Friday statement.

(CNN) - Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin’s office accused the media Friday of habitually taking her remarks out of context “to create adversarial situations,” and of pursuing “erroneous and often outrageous leads on a variety of non-issues.”

The statement also charged that some members of the media, including independent bloggers and the Atlantic, were continuing “to give credence to the sensational allegation that the governor’s child, Trig, is not hers.”

“As a public official, I expect criticism and I expect to be held accountable for how I govern,” Palin said in a statement released by her office Friday. “But the personal, salacious nature of recent reporting, and often the refusal of the media to correct obvious mistakes, unfortunately discredits too many in journalism today, making it difficult for many Americans to believe what they see in the media.”

The governor also said press coverage had distorted her recent remarks about aspiring New York senator Caroline Kennedy. “I was not commenting at all on Caroline Kennedy as a prospective U.S. senator, but rather on the seemingly arbitrary ways in which news organizations determine the level and kind of scrutiny given to those who aspire to public office,” she said. “In fact, I consider Ms. Kennedy qualified and experienced, and she could serve New York well.”

In portions of an interview with conservative John Ziegler released Thursday, Palin said it would be “interesting” to see how coverage of Kennedy’s candidacy compared to her own media experience. “It’s going to be interesting to see how that plays out and I think that as we watch that we will perhaps be able to prove that there is a class issue here also that was such a factor in the scrutiny of my candidacy versus, say, the scrutiny of what her candidacy may be.”

Her office took particular issue with a Politico story that said Palin had called coverage of Kennedy to date too soft.

Palin’s office also charged that reporters were unfairly scrutinizing the governor and her family. “Just this week, false stories in the media surfaced alleging improper influence by the Palin administration or the governor herself,” they said in the Friday statement, pointing to a report by an Alaska paper on union charges that her administration had delayed serving an arrest warrant on the mother of Levi Johnston, fiance of Bristol Palin. Union officials later changed the substance of those allegations considerably.

Another report — that Johnston lacked the proper educational requirements for the position he held — resulted in his resignation from the job.

I do not doubt that Trig is the spawn of Palin. That, however, is not the heart of the story. The heart of the story is that the oh-so-pro-life Palin tried to kill Trig.
Here we have a woman who is carrying a child known to have Down Syndrome. She is 4-para, so she knows what labor is. She is in Texas. She goes into labor. More than a month early. Does she go to the hospital stat? No, she gets on a plane and flies to Alaska.

This makes no sense unless Palin was hoping hoping hoping that the child would die and free her from the burden of a Down's child.

Evil seems too mild an adjective to predicate of the woman who still wants to start a thermonuclear war, in Jesus' name.

Away with liars and hypocrites like Palin, in Jesus' name, I pray.

Dear GOD, spare us from this ongoing drama.

Had Palin been a DEMOCRATIC nominee, the far-right-family-values-holier-than-thou crowd would have ...... crucified her...... for her political ambition and her abandoning of her newborn son & family!

SO..... Palin, you can't have it both ways.

Tina Fey is a low-life scumbag who sold herself out to the highest bidder–her only claim to fame is her slight and homlier resemblance to the Alaska Gov. I hope she sleeps well at night.with her SNL cohorts. She is not qualified to tie Oalin's shoelaces.

McPalin or the "female George Bush" cannot seem to keep her foot out of her mouth. Now she is blaming "the media" for the ridiculous nonsense that she spurts out nearly everyday. Please just go away. Stay up in Alaska and stop giving interviews. If you stop talking to "the media" you will stop making yourself look stupid. Didn't you realize when the republicans picked you they were just looking for a scapegoat ? They knew they were going to lose and could not let one of their "heroes" take the fall so they found you and you were perfect. Have you studied King George's speeches or do you just make this stuff up ? It's obvious that you really don't read anything by the way you communicate and then blame everybody else for the drivel that comes out of your mouth. I hope the republicans do run you in 2010, 2012, 2014, 2016, in fact ALL THE TIME !!! You will just keep the losing streak going. After all, you & your religious bigot, small town, in-bred, morons need to keep losing & losing & go back into the caves you crawled out of. Good riddance !!!!!

How this dunce called Palin got elected govenor of the great state of Alaska is beyond me. A serious candidate is needed to challenge her in the next gubernatorial election and send her packing to wilderness, to hunt moose.

I lived in Alaska for several years and was there when Sarah Palin was working her way up in the world of politics. I think she is a fine Gov., a great mother, is honest and I hope and pray for great things to come for her in the world of politics~~~~

boo hoo hoo, here is a woman who comes off like a complete ditz when asked the easiest of questions (What newspapers do you read?) then cries about the mean 'ol media out to get her. If you can't take the heat, stay away from politics lady, go cry me a river.

  13. Trig was hers, poor thing

The media DID refute the rumors that Trig was not her baby.

They did so by publishing Palin’s account that when her water broke, she gave a 30 minute speech, drove too the airport, boarded a 4 hour flight to Seattle, then another flight to Anchorage, then drove to a small clinic that not only does not take risky pregnancies, but doesn't even allow twin deliveries.

I mean, come on; if they were going to MAKE UP a cover story, wouldn't they come up with something that doesn't make her look so phenomenally irresponsible?

Perhaps Sarah could further her polictical career if she would remember the old saying, "Silence is Golden". Ever time she opens her mouth she proves that the media and the majority of the nation were correct, she is unfit to move on to any higher office in our country. She should just stay home and make certain she can still see Russia from her front door.

Why won't this horrible woman go away? She has no values, no ethics and no character – yet she insists on staying in the media spotlight. The media she hates, I might add.

Sarah, your 15 minutes are way over. Git.

Sarah Palin's "performance" was lacking during the campaign and the American voters deemed her not vice presidential material. I dont' think Caroline Kennedy would make a good president either, but she's not up for vice president, is she?

The vitriol that came out of Sarah Palin's mouth in her speeches was salacious; she has no room to talk. In fact, the more she puts herself out there, the more it reinforces her unsuitability as a national figure. Personally, I don't think she would have been elected governor in any other state than Alaska; forgive my cynicism, but there are many more men voters than women voters in Alaska, and I think her being a female made her an attractive candidate for Alaska men. Our governor of Washington, Christine Gregoire, is a much better example of a strong woman governor who doesn't rely on winks and smiles or an up-do hairstyle to get votes.

Now maybe she knows how Obama felt during the campaign when she spent every single day trying to spread lies and innuendos about his personal life. What goes around comes around. Frankly, if I never hear about this woman again it would be too soon.

Why is this dingbat getting media attention? Beyond proving yet again that she has nothing to offer the world aside from tangle-brained egotism, Sarah Palin is right up there with Paris Hilton and Anna Nicole Smith in the category of Talentless Celebrities Who Shouold Just Go Away But Probably Never Will.

I have to agree also that this statement is waaaaay above her head.....just like her opening speech at the convention that everyone bowed to....she is good at reading written word but not good at expressing her own....that's her problem not everyone else's

Is this the same woman who continued to insist that Obama was a terrorist and a socialist? What is she whining about? It mattered to me that she was the type of person to shove aside her Down's syndrome baby. I would have liked her better if Trig had not been hers.
