Palin slams 'bored, anonymous, pathetic bloggers who lie'

[cnn-photo-caption image= http://i2.cdn.turner.com/cnn/2008/images/12/08/art.palinop.gi.jpg caption="Palin has given a steady stream of interviews since Election Day."](CNN) - Sarah Palin fired a new salvo in her war on the media, unloading in a new interview on her home state paper and “bored, anonymous, pathetic bloggers who lie.”

The Alaska governor, who has granted a steady stream of interviews since Election Day, also told an Esquire reporter that she wishes she had told McCain campaign advisors she’d be “callin’ some of the shots.”

"Bored, anonymous, pathetic bloggers who lie annoy me....I'll tell you, yesterday the Anchorage Daily News, they called again to ask — double-, triple-, quadruple-check — who is Trig's real mom,” she said, in an interview to be published in the magazine’s March issue.

“And I said, Come on, are you kidding me? We're gonna answer this? Do you not believe me or my doctor? And they said, No, it's been quite cryptic the way that my son's birth has been discussed. And I thought, Okay, more indication of continued problems in the world of journalism."

But Palin said she had adopted a philosophical attitude on the downside of the spotlight. "You have to let it go,” she said. “Even hard news sources, credible news sources — the comment about, you can see Russia from Alaska. You can! You can see Russia from Alaska. Something like that — a factual statement that was taken out of context and mocked — what you have to do is let that go."

The former Republican vice presidential candidate said again she regretted not taking a greater leadership role during the campaign season. "If I were giving advice to myself back on the day my candidacy was announced, I'd say, Tell the campaign that you'll be callin' some of the shots,” she said. “Don't just assume that they know you well enough to make all your decisions for ya. Let them know that you're the CEO of a state, you're forty-four years old, you've got a lot of great life experience that can be put to good use as a candidate."

Despite a season of barbs aimed at the coastal elites, Palin seemed to offer an olive branch to the Big Apple: "I would think we all tear up during the national anthem at the beginning of a baseball game, don't we? That's an alikeness between Alaskans and New Yorkers," she said.

Update: In an Anchorage Daily News column published last week, the paper's editor said the only questions reporters there had asked about Trig's birth came when the paper undertook a project to debunk conspiracy theories surrounding the event, but that they had abandoned the effort because of a lack of cooperation from the Palin family.

"I don't believe we have ever published in the newspaper a story, a letter, a column or anything alleging a coverup surrounding your maternity," wrote the editor in an e-mail sent to Palin and reprinted on the paper's blog. "In fact, my integrity and the integrity of the newspaper have been repeatedly attacked in national forums for our complicity in the 'coverup.'

Later, he added: "...So I don’t understand the behavior of the governor’s press office. Did the governor not share my email with the press staff? Did the press staff deliberately ignore what I said in order to have a longer list of press 'outrages'? Or are they just sloppy with details? I don’t know."

I had decided I wouldn't comment anymore on this lady, but she is beyond the pale. Does she actually beleive vice presidential candidates can cal the shots. Give me a break.

I don't care who is or who isn't little Trig's parent, I truly dont....I do think however that she has put her family out there and through her poor parenting skills has exposed them to all kinds of scrutiny. Right or wrong, you don't put a 17 year old girl, pregnant and unmarried on the world stage without causing comment.

A note to Sarah, The election is over, you did not win and the longer you run your rhetoric the less reiliable you sound.

Why don't you mentor your daughters and govern your state and leave the rest of us alone.

WTH is she talking about?? Why is she even still being interviewed? Does anyone care what this idiot has to say?

Palin needs to concentrate on making moose chili & shooting wolves from airplanes instead of running off at the mouth. She was not and is not ready for high office and probably never will be. She needs to let it go. She's had her 15 minutes of fame.

Sarah Palin needs to get back under the porch and quit barking. All she does is complain about something. She has nothing to offer on the serious issues facing our country today.

There is no hidden agenda to most bloggers who wish to get at the truth. Be careful Sarah, when you point a finger , four are pointing back at you. As for Trig, have the State produce the birth certificate and let's here from the doctor, is she willing to lie and end her professional medical career. Best have a "place for her" in the CEO's office. Caught by the photo with the ever changing fingernail polish...Nice manicures, must be real busy up there.

For someone who hates the media... she has been making sure she is in the spotlight, at least every few days. This woman has a state to run, a family to run, and she is more concerned about the "main stream media" than her own jobs.

As an American, I am ready for her to get back to Alaska, and stay there for a while.... If you hate the media, quit talking to them....

Gov. Palin needs to come to grips with the fact that the campaign is over. Her need to explain herself just digs her deeper into this hole she has created for herself. She does not come across as an educated, knowledgeable person. If she wants to continue in public office she should learn from her mistakes and try to broaden her knowledge. Her speech patterns make her fascinating to listen to for entertainment, but not to represent the U.S. on the world stage.

How hurtful and childish people can be! What bullies! To imply Trig is not her child, with all the challenges the family will have with a special needs child, is cruel. Absolutely cruel! Sarah Palin is a talented and gifted leader that was "handled" poorly in the campaign. One of the reasons I did not want the Democrats in power was due to the cruel, viscious and unprofessional way they spoke about Palin. How childish and wrong to constantly slam someone publically with juvenile names! No wonder bullying is such a problem with young people today - they see it's OK and entertaining. Shame on those who continue with this bullying of Palin!

Ten more things that annoy Palin:
    1. Putting "g" at the ends of words
    2. Non-regional diction
    3. Her daughter's druggie future mother-in-law
    4. Having to go out to that one remote outlying Alaskan island that you can see Russia from, so she can keep an eye on Putin
    5. Canadians
    6. Polar bears
    7. People who don't want to drill for oil in wildlife refuges
    8. Wildlife refuges
    9. Wildlife of any kind that isn't stuffed and hanging on her wall
    10. Comedians and comediennes

    You'd be calling the shots?

You're a day late and a dollar short to try to have a backbone now. Negotiations take place during the interview. When asked to join the ticket, all your "non-negotiables" should have been on the table. If those conditions could not be met, then Palin you should have declined their offer.

Secondly, your husband's silence is baffling. Granted he was not running for office, but as a man he should have been your most vocal defender.

Lastly, you should have followed McCains lead on keeping his daughter Bridgett off the campaign trail and in school. You see what the media/Rove did to her. Did you think your kids would be immune?

What comes around goes around. There are bloggers still writing about Obama being a Muslim and a fake birth certificate. He isn't whining.

Palin, please exit gracefully as McCain and support your grandchild. If you can't handle ridicule from bloggers, how would you handle the spew from dictators? You are too sensitive to be VP.

I agree... the media should leave her alone... if for no other reason than the fact that I would no longer have to filter through all of the Palin drivel to get to the real news of the day. While I'm sure it's just wild conjecture, there's one sure-fire way to shut up all of the lying bloggers who are talking about Trig, don'cha know? But she doesn't want to do that. That would take away from some of the attention she's getting. She doesn't want to become irrelevant, which would quickly happen if the media just left her alone.
