Palin slams 'bored, anonymous, pathetic bloggers who lie'

[cnn-photo-caption image= http://i2.cdn.turner.com/cnn/2008/images/12/08/art.palinop.gi.jpg caption="Palin has given a steady stream of interviews since Election Day."](CNN) - Sarah Palin fired a new salvo in her war on the media, unloading in a new interview on her home state paper and “bored, anonymous, pathetic bloggers who lie.”

The Alaska governor, who has granted a steady stream of interviews since Election Day, also told an Esquire reporter that she wishes she had told McCain campaign advisors she’d be “callin’ some of the shots.”

"Bored, anonymous, pathetic bloggers who lie annoy me....I'll tell you, yesterday the Anchorage Daily News, they called again to ask — double-, triple-, quadruple-check — who is Trig's real mom,” she said, in an interview to be published in the magazine’s March issue.

“And I said, Come on, are you kidding me? We're gonna answer this? Do you not believe me or my doctor? And they said, No, it's been quite cryptic the way that my son's birth has been discussed. And I thought, Okay, more indication of continued problems in the world of journalism."

But Palin said she had adopted a philosophical attitude on the downside of the spotlight. "You have to let it go,” she said. “Even hard news sources, credible news sources — the comment about, you can see Russia from Alaska. You can! You can see Russia from Alaska. Something like that — a factual statement that was taken out of context and mocked — what you have to do is let that go."

The former Republican vice presidential candidate said again she regretted not taking a greater leadership role during the campaign season. "If I were giving advice to myself back on the day my candidacy was announced, I'd say, Tell the campaign that you'll be callin' some of the shots,” she said. “Don't just assume that they know you well enough to make all your decisions for ya. Let them know that you're the CEO of a state, you're forty-four years old, you've got a lot of great life experience that can be put to good use as a candidate."

Despite a season of barbs aimed at the coastal elites, Palin seemed to offer an olive branch to the Big Apple: "I would think we all tear up during the national anthem at the beginning of a baseball game, don't we? That's an alikeness between Alaskans and New Yorkers," she said.

Update: In an Anchorage Daily News column published last week, the paper's editor said the only questions reporters there had asked about Trig's birth came when the paper undertook a project to debunk conspiracy theories surrounding the event, but that they had abandoned the effort because of a lack of cooperation from the Palin family.

"I don't believe we have ever published in the newspaper a story, a letter, a column or anything alleging a coverup surrounding your maternity," wrote the editor in an e-mail sent to Palin and reprinted on the paper's blog. "In fact, my integrity and the integrity of the newspaper have been repeatedly attacked in national forums for our complicity in the 'coverup.'

Later, he added: "...So I don’t understand the behavior of the governor’s press office. Did the governor not share my email with the press staff? Did the press staff deliberately ignore what I said in order to have a longer list of press 'outrages'? Or are they just sloppy with details? I don’t know."

I love Sarah palin’s no-nonsense approach to the issues. She’s not one of these good ole boy types that does nothing but worry about how many pet projects he or she might get.

The only thing that is pathetic is Palin's constant whining and blaming others for her obvious short comings, which are many.

Title reads "Palin slams bored...", should read "Palin is bored [with governorship]". She's keeping her name alive in hopes for radio/TV life after politics, because this sort of foolishness....endless string of interviews and this latest battle with the media ( and the Internet)..... can only confirm to her constituents that she is totally distracted from dealing with their well-being during this time of economic hardship for the nation.

The Anchorage Daily News has been waiting for her to confirm that Bristol and Levi aren't drop-outs, which she called the ADN on and asked them to retract. They said they would but would want proof. never heard from her again........

Sure you can see Russia from Alaska. You said this in response to a question about your foreign policy experience. So how is that taken out of context? Explain me again Sarah, how does seeing Russia from Alaska qualify as foreign policy experience? I respect you for the work you've done in Alaska, but face it Sarah, you were completely clueless when it came to foreign policy. I suggest you go back and see those interviews yourself.

Peace and Happy New year !

"That's an alikeness," is grammatically incorrect.

Just because you can see Russia from Alaska doesn't mean you are knowledgeable about Russia OR foreign policy. THAT is why that comment is mocked over and over.

No one claimed you can't see Russia from Alaska. People just wondered what that had to do with whether Palin knew anything about international relations. We;re still wondering.

Most Americans don't seek the political spotlight for the very reason that it is a spotlight. No one can completely control what it shines upon.

Hasn't she been interviewed about this like 10 times already? Doesn't she understand that people would probably leave her alone if she just shut up? She's just opening herself up to more ridicule. I could sit here and make fun of practically everything she said, but I won't...because she's not worth it.

"Bored, pathetic" bloggers didn't call you, Gov. Palin; a "respected" newspaper did.

Bloggers, on the other hand, are known to a) squash rumors b) put the MSM to shame over their "fair and unbalanced" coverage and c) encouraged by leaders of this country, including President Bush and the military.

Bloggers supported you, and promoted you before you were even on the radar as a VP possibility. And yes, if you can't tell, I'm a blogger, and I continue to support you.

Can we get past this yet? She has had her day in the sun, she didn't win, and now we are just rehashing her issues to keep her in the limelight. Why are we still listening to a woman who can do anything but complain about how she has been portrayed by everyone else, she takes no responsibility for herself, she just blames it on others. Enough already.

I would have so much more respect for her if she would not respond to the non-sense. She continues this catfight with the media instead of letting it go. I think that is why so many people are sick of her.
She comes off so insecure, if you are so easily aggravated then the big league politics of Washington are not for you!

    ". . . . what you have to do is let that go . . . . "

Then why can't you? You lost; go away.

Oh, and remember those "lies" you told and the "ridiculous" questions you have concerning the PE, that you said "if it came up again I would certainly . . . .? Karma, baby, karma!

By the way, where is Todd? He was always with you on the campaign trail and there questions raised regarding him being so "involved" with you "governing" Alaska. Part of his response included the statement " . . . we are very close. . . ." Why are you now "standing alone" while conducting these interviews?

Any hope to run again for public office that Mrs. Palin had is now dashed. The Internet is not a forgiving place. Oh, and blogs are on the same level as newspapers now. Thanks for playing, Sarah!

Didn't hear Sarah screaming like this as nutjobs STILL push the many times debunked "born in kenya, thus not a citizen" garbage...

maybe she MISSED that story in ALL the newspapers she reads.

Palin is the one, who is keeping these stories going so she can look like she is being attacked. I really doubt anyone called and asked her that question again. For some reason, she thinks this is helping her.

Why is the news media still giving this airhead air time? We wouldn't critique what you had said if you weren't so uninformed, Knucklehead!

You are governor of Alaska which is a state in a federation of states, not a corporation.

Yes, you are 44 yrs old and is the governor, what does that say about your state?

Does that include Drudge? It's good to know that the virtually unknown VP candidate thought she could tell the McCain campaign that she'd be running the shots. Was she also going to install Todd and Levi in government positions?

Sarah, the Left hates you because you're the real deal.

They have to tear you down because you don't condone killing the unborn because it might cause an inconvience in one's lifestyle of self-indulgence.

You're not afraid to call a spade a spade, and if it's one thing the Liberals can't stand, it's the unvarnished truth.

Since it's -50 degrees up there in Alaska I can understand why you needed to get some different clothes while campaigning in Florida last September....that's just too much common sense to ask from the Dems.
