Palin slams 'bored, anonymous, pathetic bloggers who lie'

[cnn-photo-caption image= http://i2.cdn.turner.com/cnn/2008/images/12/08/art.palinop.gi.jpg caption="Palin has given a steady stream of interviews since Election Day."](CNN) - Sarah Palin fired a new salvo in her war on the media, unloading in a new interview on her home state paper and “bored, anonymous, pathetic bloggers who lie.”

The Alaska governor, who has granted a steady stream of interviews since Election Day, also told an Esquire reporter that she wishes she had told McCain campaign advisors she’d be “callin’ some of the shots.”

"Bored, anonymous, pathetic bloggers who lie annoy me....I'll tell you, yesterday the Anchorage Daily News, they called again to ask — double-, triple-, quadruple-check — who is Trig's real mom,” she said, in an interview to be published in the magazine’s March issue.

“And I said, Come on, are you kidding me? We're gonna answer this? Do you not believe me or my doctor? And they said, No, it's been quite cryptic the way that my son's birth has been discussed. And I thought, Okay, more indication of continued problems in the world of journalism."

But Palin said she had adopted a philosophical attitude on the downside of the spotlight. "You have to let it go,” she said. “Even hard news sources, credible news sources — the comment about, you can see Russia from Alaska. You can! You can see Russia from Alaska. Something like that — a factual statement that was taken out of context and mocked — what you have to do is let that go."

The former Republican vice presidential candidate said again she regretted not taking a greater leadership role during the campaign season. "If I were giving advice to myself back on the day my candidacy was announced, I'd say, Tell the campaign that you'll be callin' some of the shots,” she said. “Don't just assume that they know you well enough to make all your decisions for ya. Let them know that you're the CEO of a state, you're forty-four years old, you've got a lot of great life experience that can be put to good use as a candidate."

Despite a season of barbs aimed at the coastal elites, Palin seemed to offer an olive branch to the Big Apple: "I would think we all tear up during the national anthem at the beginning of a baseball game, don't we? That's an alikeness between Alaskans and New Yorkers," she said.

Update: In an Anchorage Daily News column published last week, the paper's editor said the only questions reporters there had asked about Trig's birth came when the paper undertook a project to debunk conspiracy theories surrounding the event, but that they had abandoned the effort because of a lack of cooperation from the Palin family.

"I don't believe we have ever published in the newspaper a story, a letter, a column or anything alleging a coverup surrounding your maternity," wrote the editor in an e-mail sent to Palin and reprinted on the paper's blog. "In fact, my integrity and the integrity of the newspaper have been repeatedly attacked in national forums for our complicity in the 'coverup.'

Later, he added: "...So I don’t understand the behavior of the governor’s press office. Did the governor not share my email with the press staff? Did the press staff deliberately ignore what I said in order to have a longer list of press 'outrages'? Or are they just sloppy with details? I don’t know."

For someone who kept complaining about people attacking her, she sure isn't holding back now on slamming folks. She is still governor, right? In these economic times, shouldn't she be spending more time, I dunno, governing instead of doing all these interviews?

here's an idea for the media, STOP REPORTING ABOUT PALIN, PERIOD.

She's granting all these interviews with the media now, but in every one she is complaining about the media.

If you stop covering her (she's not really newsworthy anymore anyway), she can't complain about your coverage.

Isn't she the pot calling the kettle black! They're pathetic liars? Pretty indicative of the past and recent Republican Party, refusing to admit their own faults, but quick to point fingers at others' short comings.

Sarah Palin tried so desperately to paint Obama as radical and unpatriotic by linking and or questioning his ties with a person that was exhonerated of terrorists activities, but not in her eye sight as exhonerated. But she continued to hammer that to all of her supporters at rally after rally when running for the Republican VP slot. Did she every say that what she was doing is pathetic or untruthful? Of course not. Hypocrites.

Phylosophical attitude on the down side of the spotlight eh, Any reasonable person will wonder why Sarah is complaining, The one person who accused Barack of all kinds of falsehood during the last campain through her limited education and knowlegde and one wonders how she got there as a governor. I wonder a lot too

When Obama's country of origin was questioned, he released his birth certificate. I still haven't seen whiny Palin's medical records detailing her pregnancy. She can't whine about being questioned about this and at the same time, refuse to offer any proof.

Ha ha ha...I wonder what McCain is thinking now when he keeps hearing these interviews...that's probably why he's in hiding. She needs to stop reading blogs.

Then work on fixing the 'continued problems in the world of journalism' and leave national politics alone!

    Pretty please!

Why is this women still in the news....all she is trying to do is keep herself in the public eye...this is the typical nature of those beauty pageant types and alhtough some rises up from that she has shown that she is just perpuating it with her lack of knowlege and skillfull interaction with the media...for me it was the fact that when she was asked certain questions she gave the exact answer word for word for different interviews...come on they all do that but change a few or the words at least....and in the future Mrs Palin listen to the question and answer as it relates to the question not the fact that you do this and that....just answer the question....this is an example of the people who should not be in power...a person who can't even comprehend a simple question and give a specific simple answer...to me MRS PALIN you yourself acts like those anooying anonamous bloggers...Please but then again the right wing has a way of electing nuts....aka McCain....this is not from me but from the people who ran Bush campaign againts McCain and lookie here....it's the same people who ran his....the real McCain should have ran not the one masquerading as a right wing republican....which explains why the Barbie doll was added to his side....Too bad for Dan Quayle....Palin could have replaced him as the dumbest VP ever....then she would have forever been entrenched in our minds...she would have been up the with Bush jr as dumbest president and vice president of all time.

Those pathetic liers that write trash should worry about where their spouses are when at work. Does the men know who is sleeping with their wives? and do women bloggers know where their husbands are?
I tell you I happened to be sleeping with the spouse of a couple of bloggers.

Why doesn't Palin simply retreat into her Igloo and leave the country alone.
She had her chance and made a fool of herself.

The Democrats win in Washington was a tribute to many people who lied and misled the American public about their agenda. They relied on American's inability or unwillingness to read. We deserve what we got. A President who doesn't meet the minimum qualifications for the job, and some of this country's biggest political losers to deal with terrorism.

She's still looking to see why her popularity weakened and all she has to do is watch the tapes. You opened your mouth. If you are so intelligent why didn't you know answers to such simple questions. The American people are so tired of hearing excuses.

Joe the Schmoe – it was a Democratic politician who brought that case to the Supreme Court...a little research would be appreciated before you make your posts.

Go Get'm Girl! The media is going to have to answer for itself from this point forward. Plain is not the only one firing back. There are millions of women, in particular, fed up with the good old boys. Well, these liberal media outlets are already in process of dying from Washington state to the East Coast. Tear up the newspapers people and go find the truth yourself.

I'm with her on the bloggers who won't drop the Trig thing.
Almost as pathetic as the ones who won't shut up about Obama's birth certificate.

If you try to present yourself as perfect and hold yourself up as some sort of perfect icon of virtue then people are going to ask questions and dig as deep as they can. She invited the scrutiny with her "real Americans" rhetoric. ie. real Americans think just like me and anyone who doesn't isn't a real American.

If Palin wouldn't be so critical of the types of people she doesn't like then I don't think that people would be so critical of her. I think that is one of Barack's secret of success. He came off as an intelligent person with an opinion, not a judgement. He never put anybody, or any group down. he talked about concilliation and cooperation. After 8 years of "with us or a'gin us" nonsense people wanted something smarter and she was just more of the same.

Are we sure she wasn't just George Bush in drag?

What about all the uninformed, uneducated commentators that lie and/or make up their own facts like, O'Reilly, Hannity, Savage, Coulter and Ingraham. None of those people have a clue about the truth, but have their own agenda, and never ask Palin a serious or probing question? When is she going to slam them, or is she including them in her comments? If so, she should single them out as well.

Well, just release your medical records Sarah as every other major party candidate did, and this will be put to bed.

She is absolutely right. The media is so one sided and bias it is not even funny. It is a serious problem because the news has its own agenda and most people never really search for the truth. People call accusations news now. Palin is absolutely right – it is a sad state of affairs when anonymous bloggers have credibility over the true facts.
