Palin slams 'bored, anonymous, pathetic bloggers who lie'

[cnn-photo-caption image= http://i2.cdn.turner.com/cnn/2008/images/12/08/art.palinop.gi.jpg caption="Palin has given a steady stream of interviews since Election Day."](CNN) - Sarah Palin fired a new salvo in her war on the media, unloading in a new interview on her home state paper and “bored, anonymous, pathetic bloggers who lie.”

The Alaska governor, who has granted a steady stream of interviews since Election Day, also told an Esquire reporter that she wishes she had told McCain campaign advisors she’d be “callin’ some of the shots.”

"Bored, anonymous, pathetic bloggers who lie annoy me....I'll tell you, yesterday the Anchorage Daily News, they called again to ask — double-, triple-, quadruple-check — who is Trig's real mom,” she said, in an interview to be published in the magazine’s March issue.

“And I said, Come on, are you kidding me? We're gonna answer this? Do you not believe me or my doctor? And they said, No, it's been quite cryptic the way that my son's birth has been discussed. And I thought, Okay, more indication of continued problems in the world of journalism."

But Palin said she had adopted a philosophical attitude on the downside of the spotlight. "You have to let it go,” she said. “Even hard news sources, credible news sources — the comment about, you can see Russia from Alaska. You can! You can see Russia from Alaska. Something like that — a factual statement that was taken out of context and mocked — what you have to do is let that go."

The former Republican vice presidential candidate said again she regretted not taking a greater leadership role during the campaign season. "If I were giving advice to myself back on the day my candidacy was announced, I'd say, Tell the campaign that you'll be callin' some of the shots,” she said. “Don't just assume that they know you well enough to make all your decisions for ya. Let them know that you're the CEO of a state, you're forty-four years old, you've got a lot of great life experience that can be put to good use as a candidate."

Despite a season of barbs aimed at the coastal elites, Palin seemed to offer an olive branch to the Big Apple: "I would think we all tear up during the national anthem at the beginning of a baseball game, don't we? That's an alikeness between Alaskans and New Yorkers," she said.

Update: In an Anchorage Daily News column published last week, the paper's editor said the only questions reporters there had asked about Trig's birth came when the paper undertook a project to debunk conspiracy theories surrounding the event, but that they had abandoned the effort because of a lack of cooperation from the Palin family.

"I don't believe we have ever published in the newspaper a story, a letter, a column or anything alleging a coverup surrounding your maternity," wrote the editor in an e-mail sent to Palin and reprinted on the paper's blog. "In fact, my integrity and the integrity of the newspaper have been repeatedly attacked in national forums for our complicity in the 'coverup.'

Later, he added: "...So I don’t understand the behavior of the governor’s press office. Did the governor not share my email with the press staff? Did the press staff deliberately ignore what I said in order to have a longer list of press 'outrages'? Or are they just sloppy with details? I don’t know."

Dear little Sarah, you spoiled Diva–the "Bored, anonymous, pathetic bloggers who lie " cannot believe your "Trig" story because it is too far-fetched to believe....the multi-hour plane rides dripping amnionic fluid with the subsequent drive to a tiny regional hospital with a high risk birth, the cryptic statement from your doctor who barely delivers babies, no birth certificate presented by you that could easily squelch the "rumors", the pregnancy announced at 7 mo. to the shock of everyone including your family. Your 5th pregnancy and no one could detect it. And the photos, Sarah, the photos tell all. The bloggers have done their homework.

Her figure is to nice to have had a baby at her age, unless she has had a tummy tuck and breast lift. Older moms abdomens have lost elasticity. She needs to release her medical records.

Yes, the problem with McCain's campaign is that we didn't hear ENOUGH from Annie Oaklie. Is she so isolated she doesn't realize she cost him the election? He catered to the right wingnut wing of the party by taking her and eliminated the possibility of getting any middle road moderates. the result was a landslide.

I agree with the "Let it go!" and "Just go away!" comments. BUT! I think I'd aim them outward from Palin and at those who seem to be just as guilty – if not moreso – of the same things Palin is accused of.

How many of you would be content to sit back and let the anonymous idiots further false (and at times insulting, at times damaging) information about her and her professional life – let alone the low-lifes who attack her personal life.

Yeah – let it go. But it's mostly you folks whining SHE should let it go who should consider their own advice!

I get so sick of hearing from Palin and about Palin. She comes off as stupid and "blonde" and that's just a fact of life. Nothing she can do to change that. She should give up trying to entertain the spotlight and just be glad that she somehow, miraculously obtained the job that she currently has. Her whole demeanor is just ... "hi, I'm a dumb blonde". Just go away!!!

Palin is a boring and pathetic loser! She's like the last person at the party who refuses to leave. Stop running stories about her, it only encourages her to stay.

Stay there in Mooseville with your 17 kids and stay out of the daily news!

Just one more indicator of why we should be eternally grateful that she didn't make it into that "one heartbeast away from the presidency" position. The woman just does not accept that she is in no way prepared to be in a national leadership role - I'm not even convinced she should be governor of her own state, and something tells me she won't be for much longer. Ohhhhh Sarahhhhh - take deep cleansing breaths and repeat after me - it's overrrrrrrr.

And yet she had no problem insinuating that Obama was complete Marxist and a terrorist sympathizer. If you play the game expect to get scored on sometimes.

Although the Republicans will have Burris to kick around, they need to replace 4 Republican senators who are not running for re-election in 2010, and the Democrats will have Palin and Joe the Plumber/Reporter who attacks the media. I think the Democrats come out ahead overall.

Sarah Palin......the gift that keeps on giving....lol

Here's a clue, if you don't like hearing about her, don't click the link to any stories about her, skip over them.....but you people are way too stupid to realize that you are the ones keeping discussions about her alive. Its a vicious cycle isn't it?

In many ways, Palin is the perfect embodiment of America right now: arrogant, greedy, willfully ignorant, and a habitual liar. The only current difference between Palin and middle America is that she's not morbidly obese or hooked on meth.

McCain moved on. Why is she still dwelling on the past? I understand her trying to clear-up some misconceptions but she is making things worse for herself. She has a degree in journalism right? What a waste.

"callin' some of the shots"–Sarah Palin

First she needs to learn how to speak English and then call some of the shots at the local bar. What an idiot.

    You'd be calling the shots?

You're a day late and a dollar short to try to have a backbone now. Negotiations take place during the interview. When asked to join the ticket, all your "non-negotiables" should have been on the table. If those conditions could not be met, then Palin you should have declined their offer.

Secondly, your husband's silence is baffling. Granted he was not running for office, but as a man he should have been your most vocal defender.

Lastly, you should have followed McCains lead on keeping his daughter Bridgett off the campaign trail and in school. You see what the media/Rove did to her. Did you think your kids would be immune?

What comes around goes around. There are bloggers still writing about Obama being a Muslim and a fake birth certificate. He isn't whining.

Palin, please exit gracefully as McCain and support your grandchild. If you can't handle ridicule from bloggers, how would you handle the spew from dictators? You are too sensitive to be VP.

She's right, most you idiots believe blogs more then actual news. You guys that hate her were going to hate whoever McCain picked, Obama's team had responses ready to attack everyone they thought McCain would pick, when they found out it was Sarah they had to scramble and figure out how to attack her and ya'll just jumped on the wagon without knowing anything about, Hell, you still don't know anything except what you've read on blogs! Pathetic

Unfortunately it is palin who is sad and pathetic and a LIAR! The moron wouldn't know the truth it it was staring her in the face. John McCain did a great disservice to this country by "using" the idiotic palin, the completely unqualified for anything except perhaps holding "klan" rallies palin! He thought women were so stupid as to fall for her nasty rhetoric, fortunately the majority was smarter than he gave us credit for. Maybe if the media would stop covering this imbecile with nothing of importance to say, she would have to crawl away, her rock awaits!

Why do media outlets like CNN continue to give this woman airtime and attention? The country is so over Sarah Palin, and her outrageous statements these days are just pathetic attempts by her to (1) stay in the limelight, and (2) blame others for her poor performance during the campaign. Let it go.

First...why won't she just go away. Second...I do (surprisingly) agree with her about the media. Regular news outlet have become tabloids and the world (or just America) is obsessed with utter BS that doesn't impact their lives what-so-ever. Maybe we're so obsessed with celeb's lives because we want to escape momentarliy from our own pathetic ones. It's sad when 30 year old Mom's are reading "Teen Beat" and "OK" and talking about how "hot" Zack Efron is. It's out of control. Will it ever end? And more importantly...Will Sarah Palin ever go away?
