Palin slams 'bored, anonymous, pathetic bloggers who lie'

[cnn-photo-caption image= http://i2.cdn.turner.com/cnn/2008/images/12/08/art.palinop.gi.jpg caption="Palin has given a steady stream of interviews since Election Day."](CNN) - Sarah Palin fired a new salvo in her war on the media, unloading in a new interview on her home state paper and “bored, anonymous, pathetic bloggers who lie.”

The Alaska governor, who has granted a steady stream of interviews since Election Day, also told an Esquire reporter that she wishes she had told McCain campaign advisors she’d be “callin’ some of the shots.”

"Bored, anonymous, pathetic bloggers who lie annoy me....I'll tell you, yesterday the Anchorage Daily News, they called again to ask — double-, triple-, quadruple-check — who is Trig's real mom,” she said, in an interview to be published in the magazine’s March issue.

“And I said, Come on, are you kidding me? We're gonna answer this? Do you not believe me or my doctor? And they said, No, it's been quite cryptic the way that my son's birth has been discussed. And I thought, Okay, more indication of continued problems in the world of journalism."

But Palin said she had adopted a philosophical attitude on the downside of the spotlight. "You have to let it go,” she said. “Even hard news sources, credible news sources — the comment about, you can see Russia from Alaska. You can! You can see Russia from Alaska. Something like that — a factual statement that was taken out of context and mocked — what you have to do is let that go."

The former Republican vice presidential candidate said again she regretted not taking a greater leadership role during the campaign season. "If I were giving advice to myself back on the day my candidacy was announced, I'd say, Tell the campaign that you'll be callin' some of the shots,” she said. “Don't just assume that they know you well enough to make all your decisions for ya. Let them know that you're the CEO of a state, you're forty-four years old, you've got a lot of great life experience that can be put to good use as a candidate."

Despite a season of barbs aimed at the coastal elites, Palin seemed to offer an olive branch to the Big Apple: "I would think we all tear up during the national anthem at the beginning of a baseball game, don't we? That's an alikeness between Alaskans and New Yorkers," she said.

Update: In an Anchorage Daily News column published last week, the paper's editor said the only questions reporters there had asked about Trig's birth came when the paper undertook a project to debunk conspiracy theories surrounding the event, but that they had abandoned the effort because of a lack of cooperation from the Palin family.

"I don't believe we have ever published in the newspaper a story, a letter, a column or anything alleging a coverup surrounding your maternity," wrote the editor in an e-mail sent to Palin and reprinted on the paper's blog. "In fact, my integrity and the integrity of the newspaper have been repeatedly attacked in national forums for our complicity in the 'coverup.'

Later, he added: "...So I don’t understand the behavior of the governor’s press office. Did the governor not share my email with the press staff? Did the press staff deliberately ignore what I said in order to have a longer list of press 'outrages'? Or are they just sloppy with details? I don’t know."

Give it a rest, Sarah! Your constant grasping at straws to stay in the media limelight is so pathetic. We don't care if Trigg and Trapp and Kudzu and Piston were adopted or cloned!!! But if you didn't want media comment on them, then you shouldn't have paraded them around the campaign stages waving your baby in the spotlight.

Your behavior has sealed your political fate: you have made yourself the joke. The media just reported on it.

Sarah, Sarah, Sarah, your such a whiney little hypocryite. What about when you and your supporters were calling Obama a terrorist and the shouts of kill him at your rally's? Where was your outrage then?

You are confusing a breath of fresh air with the fetid stench of hubris. All this woman has is charisma. Weigh that against her narcissism, poor education (I know, you conservatives are anti-intellectual), track record of bad ethical and moral judgement, her hypocritical record on internal family matters versus what she wants to impose on everyone else.

In 2012, if she is your choice, then you must belong to one of those apocalyptic evangelical cults.

To: "Ja" – if you think Palin is a breath of fresh air.... you need to get out more! There is a great big world out there that is NOTHING like you believe it should be. I've been to Alaska and its a nice place to visit. BUT it is FAR FROM the "real world" and its real problems!

Besides, her pastor laid hands on her to keep away WITCHES!!!!

So ask yourself this.... if YOU were accused of being a WITCH... would you want your Judge and Jury to consist of Priests or Scientists?

Sounds to me like Ms. Palin spends too much time worrying about what other people think. Has she ever thought about all the lies that she told while on the campaign trail? Maybe the supposed lies that are being told about her and her son are the direct result of the bad Karma that was brought on by her own mean-spirited behavior.

I am glad to hear her fight back. I could not believe how quick and brutal the attack on her was. We ask the candidates to run clean campaigns but then the public acts like crazed animals. We attempt to destroy the opposition with made up lies. The attacks on SP left me forever disgusted with the democratic machine.

Hey JA, is that short for Jack A... A breath of fresh air, honest. Please take a breath and sit back and look at this person credentials. She has the nerve to slam Caroline Kennedy, she is no more qualified to run than Caroline Kennedy. Honest, has anyone figured out how much money she ows the RNC for her and her husband and children's clothes? 2012 Palin/Plumer the two Ps in a pod is what they are. Intelligent, OMG "what papers do you read" couldn't even answer that simple question. Ok I'm done with her and so should CNN, she is not news.

  15. Bored and Anonymous

I may be bored, and anonymous but it is Palin who is pathetic. For someone who blasts the media, she sure can't seem to get enough of the spotlight and CNN is only happy to keep her in it since she shows up on average once a day on a headline.

thanks, CNN. Finally some good articles about SP. Obviously people want to hear about her–there are more comments appearing re every article than all of the others together. I think if people would see more of the real SP and not the stuff the Democrats and hollywood put out during the election–they would even like her as much as us "non-elitist, non- costal, people do! Keep up the good work–after all, the election is over! Be fair people, your candidate won by a small margin- but he did win-, so lay off the nastiness!

Deb "And will you PLEASE learn the English language? Alikeness? Is that really a word?"

Are you kidding? Yes, alikeness is a word. Why don't YOU learn the English language!!

This is the thing about cnn posts, people write their posts and pretend to be just so much smarter than everyone else...yet, Deb doesn't know the English language, Joe the Schmoe doesn't know who took the Obama citizenship case to court, and rin says nobody cares about Palin, yet posts are popping up like crazy on her story. No wonder why you are all liberals, you are all clueless and hypocrites.

  21. Um, okaaaay

Notice how she's not so good at following her own advice about "letting it go".

That's okay. The more she whines, the more sick of her we all get, and the less likely she'll ever re-emerge on the national scene.

This is about to get annoying. True the McCain camp didn't handle her well, but when she went out on her own, she didn't do herself any favors. Everyone has bad interviews and say dumb things. Obama had his, Clinton had hers. You learn and move on from them. Continually attacking the media is NOT going to help her in any future national elections.

She was not ready for the national stage at the time McCain dropped her on us. People claim Obama was unknown, well she was more unknown from a somewhat isolated stated.

That in itself is asking to be hammered by the media. Was the American public just supposed to take Senator McCain's word that she was qualified? No, somehow we needed to be educated. They talked about her record, well, her record was just as short as Obama's. At least Obama had touched foreign soil, new foreign leaders and had federal experience. Unfortunately a TOTAL Washington outsider was not what the country needed at this particular time.

I think Palin somehow believes that if she keeps blaming the media for her ideological and intellectual shortcomings that this will somehow fix her image in the public's eye? When all Tina Fey has to do is repeat what you said in an interview verbatim for her punchline then I think it is time to start looking elsewhere for work. The majority of Americans are not that stupid and gullible and that is another reason she is deluded if she is really considering running for POTUS.

I also agree with the other commenters when I say CNN please stop posting these non-stories. I know it gets you ratings because people are curious about how ridiculous it is that she was a vp nominee, but seriously..
