Palin slams 'bored, anonymous, pathetic bloggers who lie'

[cnn-photo-caption image= http://i2.cdn.turner.com/cnn/2008/images/12/08/art.palinop.gi.jpg caption="Palin has given a steady stream of interviews since Election Day."](CNN) - Sarah Palin fired a new salvo in her war on the media, unloading in a new interview on her home state paper and “bored, anonymous, pathetic bloggers who lie.”

The Alaska governor, who has granted a steady stream of interviews since Election Day, also told an Esquire reporter that she wishes she had told McCain campaign advisors she’d be “callin’ some of the shots.”

"Bored, anonymous, pathetic bloggers who lie annoy me....I'll tell you, yesterday the Anchorage Daily News, they called again to ask — double-, triple-, quadruple-check — who is Trig's real mom,” she said, in an interview to be published in the magazine’s March issue.

“And I said, Come on, are you kidding me? We're gonna answer this? Do you not believe me or my doctor? And they said, No, it's been quite cryptic the way that my son's birth has been discussed. And I thought, Okay, more indication of continued problems in the world of journalism."

But Palin said she had adopted a philosophical attitude on the downside of the spotlight. "You have to let it go,” she said. “Even hard news sources, credible news sources — the comment about, you can see Russia from Alaska. You can! You can see Russia from Alaska. Something like that — a factual statement that was taken out of context and mocked — what you have to do is let that go."

The former Republican vice presidential candidate said again she regretted not taking a greater leadership role during the campaign season. "If I were giving advice to myself back on the day my candidacy was announced, I'd say, Tell the campaign that you'll be callin' some of the shots,” she said. “Don't just assume that they know you well enough to make all your decisions for ya. Let them know that you're the CEO of a state, you're forty-four years old, you've got a lot of great life experience that can be put to good use as a candidate."

Despite a season of barbs aimed at the coastal elites, Palin seemed to offer an olive branch to the Big Apple: "I would think we all tear up during the national anthem at the beginning of a baseball game, don't we? That's an alikeness between Alaskans and New Yorkers," she said.

Update: In an Anchorage Daily News column published last week, the paper's editor said the only questions reporters there had asked about Trig's birth came when the paper undertook a project to debunk conspiracy theories surrounding the event, but that they had abandoned the effort because of a lack of cooperation from the Palin family.

"I don't believe we have ever published in the newspaper a story, a letter, a column or anything alleging a coverup surrounding your maternity," wrote the editor in an e-mail sent to Palin and reprinted on the paper's blog. "In fact, my integrity and the integrity of the newspaper have been repeatedly attacked in national forums for our complicity in the 'coverup.'

Later, he added: "...So I don’t understand the behavior of the governor’s press office. Did the governor not share my email with the press staff? Did the press staff deliberately ignore what I said in order to have a longer list of press 'outrages'? Or are they just sloppy with details? I don’t know."

Governor.. Public Figure...I am sure there is a picture somewhere showing Mrs. Palin pregnant during the NINE months leading up to Trigs birth.. When you are always on the defense You are usually riding the fence.

CNN, you dirty enabler. Stop feeding her fire. No one actually cares about what child is hers or not, what perks her son in law lost because of his lack of qualificiations, what her husband is or isn't doing, what poultry is not getting their sentence commuted. No one cares.

Now, if she's using her job to get people fired because they cause family turbulence, let's hear about it. If she's purchasing construction jobs on behalf of her state that make zero sense, asking for excessive federal funding for state projects that shouldn't be approved, etc... let's hear about it. Because it's legitimate news.

But can we have her stop with the pointless and insubstantial whining? She can whine all she wants, just stop feeding her voracious need for attention.

She took a lot of flak, but she was not the most qualified person of either sex for the nomination, and she used her time in the spotlight to play attack dog, impugn the character of her opponents, and dis anyone from the lower 48 who came from a town of more than 5000 people.

If she had had a positive message during her (thankfully) brief candidacy for national office, I think things would have been different.

First Sarah, we're not anonymous. We have names, emails and live and breathe. And I'd say it's you that's bored. As Governor I wouldn't think ya'd have the time for this nonsence! Is Alaska payin ya for all the time your usin on intercurricular activites to vent yur poor me hostilities live to the World?

Your the pathetic one! The one that keeps your family, your children, at the mercy of the media via your insatiable selfish needs and insanity! Your advice to yourself should have been I am a mother that has a baby and family who needs me to put them first, I don't have the qualifications necessary for VP, I will decline McCain's offer. And the reason Sarah you weren't callin the shots on the Campaign was because YA didn't have the necessary experience, skills, intelligence, historical or political knowledge, finess, or one earthly clue about decorum! But hey Ya must love the criticism as Ya keep Comin back fer more which confirms the aforesaid adjectives!

Will you tear up Sarah when they play the National Anthem when Obama is sworn in as President of the United States? Or do you just tear up when the Anthem is played at Hockey Games or Baseball games?

Anyone who feels this strongly about being a victim of the media (mainstream or any other media) needs to do more to keep themselves out of the media spotlight.

At this point, does it really matter what anyone says? Truth or other wise? Gov Palin is still the Governor of Alaska. She should be more concerned with what her family and the citizens of Alaska believe.

T from NY: Stop posing as a liberal. Any real liberal knows that Sarah Palin brought this all on herself. She is believes that raw ambition is a good substitute for actual intelligence.

To the people who said- "Just go away"- why do you bother reading?

Sarah Palin will not go away- and like it or not- she will be the next President of the United States.

The next 4 years will put enough of a bad taste in the American people's collective palate that they will yearn for a Christian with Conservative God fearing values.

God Bless America and the Palins.

Doesn't she know it wasn't the "You can see Russia from Alaska" statement itself that was the problem. It was the fact that she thought this constituted foreign policy experience. The there was the bit about Putin flying over Alaska to get to Washington. Apparently they don't teach about great circle routes at the Flat Earth scholls she attended.

She's not going to go away until she gets trounced in an election somewhere. Be prepared.

I think what is most remarkable about this story is that she referred to a Newspaper. Something she couldnt do during the Couric Interview.

CNN should run a computer script to simply erase all items pertaining to Palin from its web site, and then forbid all staff members from mentioning her. Mentioning Palin at all tends to validate her in some basic way - and after our country's horrifyingly close brush with the possibility of a McCain-Palin administration, I don't want Palin to get any future support. When the media mentions Palin, they are CREATING the news, because mentioning her is the only thing that might make her powerful in the future. Palin has no potential to do good things for our country; indeed, she's a risk to the security and welfare of our country. I view promoting her quest for power as an insult and a threat to the American people.

Palin should retire from public life entirely. Every day that she acts in any influential role just promotes more stupidity and suffering in the world.

I think CNN should focus on the econimic crisis, the wars and the slaughter that are going on in the Middle-East and how we should bring back the american dream and regain the world's respect. Please forget about someone who was a disaster in the past campaign and a complete ignorant when it comes to the world and the foreigh policy. Really, it's like waching desperate housewives....We claim to be the world leaders while the level of ignorance and superficiality in this country is skyrocketting...

Just wait until the angry white men that make up the GOP deal with you, Sarah, on their timetable in 2012!!!

And quite frankly, Sarah, it is people around you who aroused all our curiosity on Trig when they stated they did not know you were pregnant, were surprised when you took time-off to have the baby and then returned to work three days after the birth looking no different than before you left. You refused to answer the questions then and have basically tried to wish away the nonsense!!! You have no pix of you during the pregnancy that you have shared, so where there's smoke, there's fire and curiosity!

Get used to it, because if you should succeed in getting the 2012 GOP nomination (and you won't), you'll have to deal with a man who is smarter, faster on his feet and all about no bull, unlike you who think it's charming to attack people and not the issues! Next you'll tell us you can see Canada from your patio, right?!

You also stated in one interview that you supported the efforts of the Swift Boat Vets, who were eventually outed as paid liars for T. Boone Pickens. So what say you to that?!

You claimed Obama had no experience "running a business" like you. How much did Pappy McCain have, other than the VP position he was handed by Cindy's family and then bungled that? Well?!

You accused Obama of being a terrorist because he "knew one" yet you and Todd belonged to a secessionist group, you admitted it, but yet you want to be VP, and potentially President, of a country you wish to seceed from?! How does that work?!

You accused Obama of being a terrorist because he knew one, yet you won't an

Face it, Sarah, you and yours are phonies of the highest order and you prove it every time you open your pie hole!

Tina Fey won a Golden Globe the other night, but you claim you made her career?! SNL is hoping you run in 2012 – they're dying for the chance at a re-match!

Let's be honest here – you were handled wrong by your own campaign and McCain's, and you wouldn't listen to anybody that tried to straighten you out, going so far as to "going rouge" on the campaign when it became obvious that you were going to lose this election and positioning yourself for 2012!

Saran "second-guesser" Palin here you are wondering what "shoulda-woulda-coulda" have been in the fall of 2008. On the surface it sounds like you are bitter with journalism which is the very profession you trained for in college or are you? Yes hindsight is 20/20 and as you continue with your public therapy after the November defeat, you may want to also publicly admit what everyone said to your deaf ears in the fall; yes you’ve been used. And in the right context anyone seeing Russia from Alaska doesn’t give them any foreign relations credentials whatsoever. The question that lead to you blurting out “you can see Russia from Alaska” had to do with foreign relations experience. I guess you’ll be mad a me too since I am just an “anonymous blogger” and of late it seems it’s everyone else’s fault but yours.

" — the comment about, you can see Russia from Alaska. You can! You can see Russia from Alaska. "
Yes, those of us who paid attention in 5th grade geography know that, Sarah! The question was 'What is your experience in foreign policy.' You answer, 'You can see Russia from Alaska.' Duh!!! That makes all of us who live in states bordering Canada or Mexico rich in foreign policy experience, too!!
Do yourself a favor, quit wailin' to the press about the press, shut up and get busy governing your state!! Afterall, hat's what the people of Alaska voted you into office to do.

I don't think anyone denied that Russia can be seen from Alaska. But Sarah Palin seems to be the onliy one who thinks that gives her foreign policy experience. If that were true, then the 120 or so people who actually live on Little Diomede have more foreign policy experience in their pinkys than Sarah Palin has in her whole body. Her statement was never taken out of context. The sad part was this woman and the McCain camp thought everyone else would buy into the lunacy.

What's the matter Palin, when you were trashing Obama's name calling him a terrorist sympathizer, elitist, big city values it was OK? Well we don't want your close-minded backwards and radical mind anywhere near a decision making environment – 8 years of bush did enough damage to this country – go back to working on separating Alaska from the union like you did before. It takes some ignorance and arrogance to believe that you are qualified to run USA.

Sorry, what morals Sarah Palin have? Like Mother like daughter.
She does not care about Families, just imagine how much she supported the mother of her husband when she was running for office.
Is this the person you want to be a Leader, give the American Citizens a break. She should shut up, and try harder to prove to us how she can see Russia from her Porch.

Sarah, during the campaign no one could get NEAR your doctor....remember 2 days before the election your doctor sent a basic She acts like she is the only person being blogged about.....just ANOTHER proof that sheis totally self-centered and only interested in things that affect her personally And, when people protest over and over and over about a news point (i.e. Trig)......usually it ends up that they have something to hide!
The funniest part of this is that Sarah Palin is Sooooo naive she thinks she can have the last word against all her critics.....give it up Sarah, this is the way of the world in politics. If you can;t stand it RETIRE AND GO HUNT POLAR BEAR (since you don;t want to protect them.)
