Palin slams 'bored, anonymous, pathetic bloggers who lie'

[cnn-photo-caption image= http://i2.cdn.turner.com/cnn/2008/images/12/08/art.palinop.gi.jpg caption="Palin has given a steady stream of interviews since Election Day."](CNN) - Sarah Palin fired a new salvo in her war on the media, unloading in a new interview on her home state paper and “bored, anonymous, pathetic bloggers who lie.”

The Alaska governor, who has granted a steady stream of interviews since Election Day, also told an Esquire reporter that she wishes she had told McCain campaign advisors she’d be “callin’ some of the shots.”

"Bored, anonymous, pathetic bloggers who lie annoy me....I'll tell you, yesterday the Anchorage Daily News, they called again to ask — double-, triple-, quadruple-check — who is Trig's real mom,” she said, in an interview to be published in the magazine’s March issue.

“And I said, Come on, are you kidding me? We're gonna answer this? Do you not believe me or my doctor? And they said, No, it's been quite cryptic the way that my son's birth has been discussed. And I thought, Okay, more indication of continued problems in the world of journalism."

But Palin said she had adopted a philosophical attitude on the downside of the spotlight. "You have to let it go,” she said. “Even hard news sources, credible news sources — the comment about, you can see Russia from Alaska. You can! You can see Russia from Alaska. Something like that — a factual statement that was taken out of context and mocked — what you have to do is let that go."

The former Republican vice presidential candidate said again she regretted not taking a greater leadership role during the campaign season. "If I were giving advice to myself back on the day my candidacy was announced, I'd say, Tell the campaign that you'll be callin' some of the shots,” she said. “Don't just assume that they know you well enough to make all your decisions for ya. Let them know that you're the CEO of a state, you're forty-four years old, you've got a lot of great life experience that can be put to good use as a candidate."

Despite a season of barbs aimed at the coastal elites, Palin seemed to offer an olive branch to the Big Apple: "I would think we all tear up during the national anthem at the beginning of a baseball game, don't we? That's an alikeness between Alaskans and New Yorkers," she said.

Update: In an Anchorage Daily News column published last week, the paper's editor said the only questions reporters there had asked about Trig's birth came when the paper undertook a project to debunk conspiracy theories surrounding the event, but that they had abandoned the effort because of a lack of cooperation from the Palin family.

"I don't believe we have ever published in the newspaper a story, a letter, a column or anything alleging a coverup surrounding your maternity," wrote the editor in an e-mail sent to Palin and reprinted on the paper's blog. "In fact, my integrity and the integrity of the newspaper have been repeatedly attacked in national forums for our complicity in the 'coverup.'

Later, he added: "...So I don’t understand the behavior of the governor’s press office. Did the governor not share my email with the press staff? Did the press staff deliberately ignore what I said in order to have a longer list of press 'outrages'? Or are they just sloppy with details? I don’t know."

I am offended that the media still covers this woman. Don't they have enough to do?

Palin is right: most bloggers are pathetic. Not to mention depressed, and in general need of mental help.

Sarah Palin is like the Wicked Witch from the Wizard of Oz, she'll never shut until a house from Kanasa's drops on her or someone throws water on her.

It is true you can see Russia from land in Alaska. It's just to bad for her the question was about foreign policy and not "fun trivia facts about Alaska." The reason that answer made the news was because of the question, not the answer. The question was, "What is your foreign policy experience?" She answered, "You can see Russia from Alaska." That's why she is mocked.

KEEP TALKING SARAH! The more you say, the less chance the Republicans have in 2010!

I begin to see why Sarah Palin has developed the reputation for being vindictive and controlling. She should take her own advice and let it go. As for the paternity of your grandchild; perhaps you should have encouraged your daughter to pick a name that established her own identity instead of fitting in with your notion of cutesy machismo. Track, Trigg and... Tripp? How about Bob or John?

I would like to see some of you people make fun of the way Al Sharpton talks and see if it isn't met with serious backlash.

To all of you who want Palin to go away – stop reading about her and blogging about it!! I hope that after Barack is finished with his term that our economy isn't worse than it is now! Also to Deb M in Allentown, PA – use a dictionary – alikeness is a real word...

She's pretty pathetic. A true statesperson who represents the public would just ignore the petty blogs and do her job representing the people – her public work should speak for itself. Apparently, she has to muck up any performance or any good deeds she may have done whenever she opens her mouth. She'd be best served by sewing her mouth shut... then people may actually give her some respect.

Sarah's problem isn't with bloogers, but members of her own party who also have aspirations to be president and who actually are qualified for the office. They are the ones who will sabotage this flash in the pants "celebrity". But Sarah is doing a pretty good job of self-inflicting her own wounds. Just let her keep talking and the hole gets bigger. And Sarah, contrary to your spin, Katie Couric didn't ask you what newspapers you read "up there in Alaska". Maybe an easier question to have asked was "do you read?"

We booed her in Philly when she tried to come out a drop the first puck at the Flyers game for a photo-op...she's so phony. They had to turn the music waaaay up in the hockey rink to drown out the fans telling her to go home.

She plays the media game and got burned.

McCain is a decent human being. The biggest mistake he ever made was bringing this toad into the national scene.

I think it is sad how so many people come on these blogs and comment as if they have any idea what they are talking about. We civilians have no idea what goes on fully. I am sure history will paint the truth. Be it a positive or negative one, however making such hateful comments while having little information just goes to show how ignorant people are.

I am very concerned for PE Obama. He is human, he is just a man and he has to work within the same system. He can not possibly change as much as people are thinking he will, it is not possible. I pray that the warm fuzzy feelings do continue so he can get things done, I just see that people in that system are already turning on him and he has not even moved in yet.

Stop, just stop. We need to love our fellow Brothers and Sisters. Even if you can not stand the things people do, we are called to Hate the sin, however LOVE the sinner.

Palin is none too bright, as the vast majority of us could detect from her campaign jibberish. But now, post-campaign, we learn that she is not above major, self-serving hypocrisy as well. She's the queen of distortion based on the flimsiest foundation. So she can fling the crap at people she disdains, but she sure resents having to eat some herself.

Palin's brand of low-information patriotism is the last thing this country needs. But since she looks so good on t.v. and is so comfortable rambling incoherently in front of cameras, it appears we'll have to put up with her ad nauseum, whether she makes any sense or not. She's a spectacle that won't go away because Americans love to stare at colorful train wrecks.

Palin needs to sit down and let the world move on. honestly, this is ridiculous. the presidential elections are over and have been over for a long time; and still, Palin is trying to grasp at all the media attention she can possibly get. most importantly, Palin is like Joe the Plumber, nobody cares about what they have to say, and anything they say lacks the least amount of intelligence, and yet they do everything they can to get as much attention they can get. this is overall is sickening, and the fact that Palin continuously tries to bring Americans back to the past and only helps the hatred and anger in this country grow, shows that she is one of the dumbest politicians, if she can be even called that, that was ever considered for public office. Lets face it, one of the more recent reasons to the Republican downfall and seperation, is because this idiot coninues to drag down this country and truly shows how stupid Americans can be.

WOW. The media sure has done it's job... look at the comments here... Sarah called Obama a terorrist? LOL.... keep on making things up kids... Lies? What lies? She's the only one that told the truth. People think she actually thought Alaska's proximity to Russia was an example of her foreign policy experience, whereas IN REALITY, if you read the ENTIRE TRANSCRIPT, you would know that it was merely an aside. Keep believing what the liberal media tells you! It will keep you blind to what's going on around you, such as the total economic destruction of our Economy by idiots such as Bush, Paulson, Frank, and Obama. Keep flooding the market with cash, you idiots!!

Thanks guys... now we have the most unexperienced, narcissistic President in the history of the Union who is ready to hit the final nail in our coffin. Perhaps, instead of reporting on Governor Palin, CNN should start asking President-Elect Obama some real questions... such as, what is he going to do after hyper inflation wipes out everyone's life savings after he continues the ridiculous Bush policies of flooding the economy with borrowed/printed money?

One reason she receives so much attention is because people like the commenters on this story continue to read everything they can about her. If you want her to go away, stop paying attention to her and writing nasty comments every time something comes out about her.

Quite frankly, it continues to be refreshing to me to see someone with a degree of success in politics who hasn't been coached and spun into a pablum that everyone can easily digest.

She feeds off attention, she suffers from delusions of grandeur. She is greatly confused about her own importance. Why does the media continue to give coverage to this illiterate fart-in-the-wind?
