Palin slams 'bored, anonymous, pathetic bloggers who lie'

The Alaska governor, who has granted a steady stream of interviews since Election Day, also told an Esquire reporter that she wishes she had told McCain campaign advisors she’d be “callin’ some of the shots.”
"Bored, anonymous, pathetic bloggers who lie annoy me....I'll tell you, yesterday the Anchorage Daily News, they called again to ask — double-, triple-, quadruple-check — who is Trig's real mom,” she said, in an interview to be published in the magazine’s March issue.
“And I said, Come on, are you kidding me? We're gonna answer this? Do you not believe me or my doctor? And they said, No, it's been quite cryptic the way that my son's birth has been discussed. And I thought, Okay, more indication of continued problems in the world of journalism."
But Palin said she had adopted a philosophical attitude on the downside of the spotlight. "You have to let it go,” she said. “Even hard news sources, credible news sources — the comment about, you can see Russia from Alaska. You can! You can see Russia from Alaska. Something like that — a factual statement that was taken out of context and mocked — what you have to do is let that go."
The former Republican vice presidential candidate said again she regretted not taking a greater leadership role during the campaign season. "If I were giving advice to myself back on the day my candidacy was announced, I'd say, Tell the campaign that you'll be callin' some of the shots,” she said. “Don't just assume that they know you well enough to make all your decisions for ya. Let them know that you're the CEO of a state, you're forty-four years old, you've got a lot of great life experience that can be put to good use as a candidate."
Despite a season of barbs aimed at the coastal elites, Palin seemed to offer an olive branch to the Big Apple: "I would think we all tear up during the national anthem at the beginning of a baseball game, don't we? That's an alikeness between Alaskans and New Yorkers," she said.
Update: In an Anchorage Daily News column published last week, the paper's editor said the only questions reporters there had asked about Trig's birth came when the paper undertook a project to debunk conspiracy theories surrounding the event, but that they had abandoned the effort because of a lack of cooperation from the Palin family.
"I don't believe we have ever published in the newspaper a story, a letter, a column or anything alleging a coverup surrounding your maternity," wrote the editor in an e-mail sent to Palin and reprinted on the paper's blog. "In fact, my integrity and the integrity of the newspaper have been repeatedly attacked in national forums for our complicity in the 'coverup.'
Later, he added: "...So I don’t understand the behavior of the governor’s press office. Did the governor not share my email with the press staff? Did the press staff deliberately ignore what I said in order to have a longer list of press 'outrages'? Or are they just sloppy with details? I don’t know."

please don't give her any more airtime CNN. This is clearly not newsworthy.
I'd love to hear what Alaskans think of all this attention to their governor–after all, they elected her.
Personally, I think each time she speaks out on these issues, she comes across as defensive and below the fray–she's shooting herself in the foot constantly, especially while trying to defend her actions. This does not speak well of her maturity and attitude. Her it's-not-my-fault-it-is-everyone-else approach to dealing with the press, bloggers, liberals, whomever, is not a defense, it's an indictment.
It's amazing she's complaining about people lying after the garbage she was spreading around during the campaign, and misstating facts. We can start with almost day one and the claim of selling the jet on eBay and take it from there. Do we want to get into claims she made about Obama? What's that saying? "Live by the sword....."

I think the problem is that the "legitimate media" and "bloggers" have both been given equal weight in the popular media, when bloggers have no real journalistic standards that they are (ahem) supposed to adhere to. But honestly I've not heard any "real" media outlet (CNN, BBC, NPR, or any network affiliate news) following or promoting some of these tabloid type of stories. It's just Palin reacting as if the "real" media is doing this when it is a bunch of bloggers throwing rocks at her, which shouldn't be given the same weight as "the real media" or lumped in with "the media" when complaining about this. Palin should just fade away like a bad dream.
What makes me sick is the fact that she used her child as the poster child for a platform to get votes from parents in similar situations. To me, that is the most disgraceful thing to that child. Coming from a family that has issues of this nature, I found this to be repulsive.
I have to come clean... I've been the liar all along. I've done nothing but acted like an attention starved princess. I have blamed everyone but myself for what has happened. I have finally come to realize that i simply need to suck it up (which i do quite well boys... swallow too!) and just admit i am a failure.
She's such a bright, intelligent, and inciteful ....wait....hahahahahahahahahaha. Sorry, I couldnt keep a straight face. What a moronathon.

The records broke and the republicans won't fix that either. Either that or they deny she's a broken record. Okay, this just in, they are covering up the fact that she's a broken record. Wait.....They admit it and they are going to ask for another $1 billion in the bailout plan to get her some new clothes, a new doo and they think this will change things significantly . This may stop her complaints about, anonymous, pathetic bloggers. Like me. I'm bored. [sigh]

Explain why it is racist for the white candidate to mudsling during a campaign, but it is just good smart campaigning for the black candidate.

Surely, in Alaska there is another trooper to get fired or a pipe line that's not built yet. You know, something better to do, like being a governor.
In a strange way she's proving all those people who, unjustly, said that as VP she wouldn't be able to focus on her job because of her kids right by focusing on her and her children and not her JOB! We dodged one heck of a bullet with that one.
The funny thing about Palin is that she actually talks as if she is more intelligent than the people she is talking to, when in fact the truth is exactly the opposite. Kind of like being talked down to by a pre-schooler.

Doesn't this woman get it? Don't speak any more... no one is listening.
"The media" has its problems. Still, in America, it's the cornerstone of our standing as a successful free nation. This is why I never trust ANYONE who hates ALL media. Sarah's obviously in that realm.
Imagine what her relationship with "the media" would have been had she actually got elected! Sheeeeesh!
Two points:
First... while I would really like to not hear from this person anymore, the more she speaks, she provides more ammo to the press/blog-o-sphere/rationally-minded Americans that will be used against her if she tries to surface for state/national office in the future. That has to be a good thing, so... keep flapping your gums, Sarah!
Second, the only sketchy story about her kid's birth came from her mouth... which led to the speculation on what really might or might not have happened and that may or may not have gotten out of hand. Case in point as to why the propensity to flap the gums doesn't serve her well. I view this as a good thing (see above).
It never ceases to amaze me that the mere mention of this woman gets people enraged. I guess some people just don't feel complete without hatred.
People, if you want to stop seeing stories about her, stop reading and commenting on them. The only reason they keep appearing is because they get a lot of hits, and if they get a lot of hits, it looks like people want to read them, so they get reported on.
Palin's problem is that she actually believes she is and was qualified to be Vice President of this Country! John McCain makes a huge error of judgment, loses the election, but Sarah Palin refuses to go away. I am beginning to believe she has mental problems. Shut up and run the state of Alaska would ya !
