Palin slams 'bored, anonymous, pathetic bloggers who lie'

[cnn-photo-caption image= http://i2.cdn.turner.com/cnn/2008/images/12/08/art.palinop.gi.jpg caption="Palin has given a steady stream of interviews since Election Day."](CNN) - Sarah Palin fired a new salvo in her war on the media, unloading in a new interview on her home state paper and “bored, anonymous, pathetic bloggers who lie.”

The Alaska governor, who has granted a steady stream of interviews since Election Day, also told an Esquire reporter that she wishes she had told McCain campaign advisors she’d be “callin’ some of the shots.”

"Bored, anonymous, pathetic bloggers who lie annoy me....I'll tell you, yesterday the Anchorage Daily News, they called again to ask — double-, triple-, quadruple-check — who is Trig's real mom,” she said, in an interview to be published in the magazine’s March issue.

“And I said, Come on, are you kidding me? We're gonna answer this? Do you not believe me or my doctor? And they said, No, it's been quite cryptic the way that my son's birth has been discussed. And I thought, Okay, more indication of continued problems in the world of journalism."

But Palin said she had adopted a philosophical attitude on the downside of the spotlight. "You have to let it go,” she said. “Even hard news sources, credible news sources — the comment about, you can see Russia from Alaska. You can! You can see Russia from Alaska. Something like that — a factual statement that was taken out of context and mocked — what you have to do is let that go."

The former Republican vice presidential candidate said again she regretted not taking a greater leadership role during the campaign season. "If I were giving advice to myself back on the day my candidacy was announced, I'd say, Tell the campaign that you'll be callin' some of the shots,” she said. “Don't just assume that they know you well enough to make all your decisions for ya. Let them know that you're the CEO of a state, you're forty-four years old, you've got a lot of great life experience that can be put to good use as a candidate."

Despite a season of barbs aimed at the coastal elites, Palin seemed to offer an olive branch to the Big Apple: "I would think we all tear up during the national anthem at the beginning of a baseball game, don't we? That's an alikeness between Alaskans and New Yorkers," she said.

Update: In an Anchorage Daily News column published last week, the paper's editor said the only questions reporters there had asked about Trig's birth came when the paper undertook a project to debunk conspiracy theories surrounding the event, but that they had abandoned the effort because of a lack of cooperation from the Palin family.

"I don't believe we have ever published in the newspaper a story, a letter, a column or anything alleging a coverup surrounding your maternity," wrote the editor in an e-mail sent to Palin and reprinted on the paper's blog. "In fact, my integrity and the integrity of the newspaper have been repeatedly attacked in national forums for our complicity in the 'coverup.'

Later, he added: "...So I don’t understand the behavior of the governor’s press office. Did the governor not share my email with the press staff? Did the press staff deliberately ignore what I said in order to have a longer list of press 'outrages'? Or are they just sloppy with details? I don’t know."

I'm sorry, but this made me laugh. Perhaps she failed to see the irony of one of the late rallying cries of her supporters being turned on her...

Just curious why a woman in her position would worry about what anonymous bloggers think or say? It just goes to show you that you can take the girl out of the trailer park, but you can't take the trailer park out of the girl.

I'm not a fan of hers nor did i vote for her ticket, but to drag her children into the campaign is far past rediculous...It is pathetic. Its one thing to challenge her personal ideologies, it is quite another to drag her CHILDREN into it. It comes from a dark place inside of losers that feel powerful and hide behind their computers and use shock tactics. Don't be mad at her because your mother didn't hold you enough when you were a child and take it out on her...or maybe she held you too much? Losers

Sarah 'poor loser' Palin....I'm sick of looking at your blank face and listening to your empty words. Since you lost in the November '08 election, all you've done is blame everyone else for your failures and faults. And funny you should be giving interviews with the press, since these are the people that you are constantly getting down on. Do yourself and the rest of us a favor....please go back to your Alaskan bear den and stay away from the media, which you so hate.

CNN.... hasn't this gone on long enough? 80% of this country doesn't care what this under-educated governor has to say. And for the rest of the country, it looks like you're just mocking her by reprinting her mangling of the English language. ("Alikeness"??? Come on, now)

Do everyone a favor and spend your time covering more important people.

Maybe if you all would just ignore it and stop talking about it, there wouldn't be anything to report on and it would go away.

As far as baby goes we know he is yours, you are the only mother who would risk you Childs life by flying back to Alaska to have him. You know that the hospitals in Texas, they do have real children’s hospitals down their and are far better to deal with medical conditions than Alaska hospitals. As far as the media is concerned if their was a free ride given you got it, It was not the media that gave bad interviews it was you. Have you taken the time to watch your self, you need to. The media should have and if they had had time I am sure they would have, to look at what you did as mayor and what was going on during your watch. Rape kits. They should have looked at your friends who are members of the API. It was you who talked about paling around with terrorist, the founder of the API party was killed in a plastic explosive deal gone wrong.
As far as your family is concerned it is no model family and that’s ok, but you should not talk about family values because you haven’t been able to make it happen in your family. So it is rude to talk about it to other families. And are you so dumb as to believe McCain thought you were a good choice, you were picked by oil companies if you are out of Alaska you can no longer tax or decide who get to build a gas line. As far as the media making you look bad you made your self look bad and Alaska.

SHUT UP Ice Princes and concentrate on those small town values and get you kid to graduate high school and get her daughter's potential in laws out of Jail.

I am truly sick of this woman. Blame everyone else, except yourself. True Right Wing nutcase. The facts are there look it up; the media asked you simple questions and you couldn't answer them intelligently. GO AWAY!! This country has enough problems. Instead of doing interviews; take care of the State of Alaska.

Most politicians know that people are idiots. Staging a high profile fight against them is counterproductive to larger goal.

Sarah Palin needs to disappear for awhile. If she does maybe the public will forget what an idiot she is. Sarah Palin is trying to do damage control . It's too late. I saw her mini documentary/interview and she was blasting the media and SNL. She even went as far to make a big deal about the skit she did. I remember her saying she had fun and everyone was nice! SNL only took what she said and made fun of it! She wanted to blast Katie Couric for asking simple questions. Most candidates running for office read at least three papers to know what's going on. She could have even mentioned her local paper. She needs to kick her own self for being such and idiot!

Anytime you run for public office your background and life better be clean. If not, you better be ready! Everyone knows they are going to expose everything.

Sarah and her buddy Joe the Plumber need to go away!!!!!

    JA–
One puts names in a hat for a random drawing. One puts one's hat in the ring to run for office.
I, for one, hope Ms. Palin keeps trying. She is so clearly unqualified–intellectually AND morally–that she will draw the considerable "kook vote" away from serious Republican contenders.

Does Sarah Palin for a moment think she might be the problem? She, more than anyone, caused the GOP to lose the last election, though we certainly can't count out George Bush, the worst President ever

I believe the issue with the comment on the ability to see Russia from Alaska, Gov. Palin, was the fact that it was taken in-context, not out of. You brought that up in the context of a question regarding your foreign policy experience, or lack thereof. That is what was mocked. Your in-context statement.
