Palin slams 'bored, anonymous, pathetic bloggers who lie'

[cnn-photo-caption image= http://i2.cdn.turner.com/cnn/2008/images/12/08/art.palinop.gi.jpg caption="Palin has given a steady stream of interviews since Election Day."](CNN) - Sarah Palin fired a new salvo in her war on the media, unloading in a new interview on her home state paper and “bored, anonymous, pathetic bloggers who lie.”

The Alaska governor, who has granted a steady stream of interviews since Election Day, also told an Esquire reporter that she wishes she had told McCain campaign advisors she’d be “callin’ some of the shots.”

"Bored, anonymous, pathetic bloggers who lie annoy me....I'll tell you, yesterday the Anchorage Daily News, they called again to ask — double-, triple-, quadruple-check — who is Trig's real mom,” she said, in an interview to be published in the magazine’s March issue.

“And I said, Come on, are you kidding me? We're gonna answer this? Do you not believe me or my doctor? And they said, No, it's been quite cryptic the way that my son's birth has been discussed. And I thought, Okay, more indication of continued problems in the world of journalism."

But Palin said she had adopted a philosophical attitude on the downside of the spotlight. "You have to let it go,” she said. “Even hard news sources, credible news sources — the comment about, you can see Russia from Alaska. You can! You can see Russia from Alaska. Something like that — a factual statement that was taken out of context and mocked — what you have to do is let that go."

The former Republican vice presidential candidate said again she regretted not taking a greater leadership role during the campaign season. "If I were giving advice to myself back on the day my candidacy was announced, I'd say, Tell the campaign that you'll be callin' some of the shots,” she said. “Don't just assume that they know you well enough to make all your decisions for ya. Let them know that you're the CEO of a state, you're forty-four years old, you've got a lot of great life experience that can be put to good use as a candidate."

Despite a season of barbs aimed at the coastal elites, Palin seemed to offer an olive branch to the Big Apple: "I would think we all tear up during the national anthem at the beginning of a baseball game, don't we? That's an alikeness between Alaskans and New Yorkers," she said.

Update: In an Anchorage Daily News column published last week, the paper's editor said the only questions reporters there had asked about Trig's birth came when the paper undertook a project to debunk conspiracy theories surrounding the event, but that they had abandoned the effort because of a lack of cooperation from the Palin family.

"I don't believe we have ever published in the newspaper a story, a letter, a column or anything alleging a coverup surrounding your maternity," wrote the editor in an e-mail sent to Palin and reprinted on the paper's blog. "In fact, my integrity and the integrity of the newspaper have been repeatedly attacked in national forums for our complicity in the 'coverup.'

Later, he added: "...So I don’t understand the behavior of the governor’s press office. Did the governor not share my email with the press staff? Did the press staff deliberately ignore what I said in order to have a longer list of press 'outrages'? Or are they just sloppy with details? I don’t know."

I feel very sorry for this poor woman. She just doesn't have the common sense to walk away from a situation that is over and done with. Instead, she continues to re-live it, apparently on a continual basis, making herself miserable in the process. And then she blames everyone but herself for all of her inner turmoil. Sarah, LET IT GO...

What's next on your agenda of slam and hate Palin – people who wear black or maybe kids that listen to ipods or people who watch YouTube? You really need to get a life. Isn't there more urgent Alaska business to take care of then talking to reporters every day?

She will do anything to keep her name in the news. Instead of complaining about this how about coming up with ideas to help.

Oh wait. You have to have the brain power to come up with ideas.

i am sure she will find other ways to keep her name in the news.

This woman is a perfect example of what has gone wrong with the GOP. She is out of touch with reality.

Folks, let it go. If all of you were as smart as you claim, you would do a search for the transcripts to the interview about Foreign Policy. When you read the entire transcript you will see that the comment about seeing Russia from Alaska was only a sentence utilized in a 2 paragraph answer to a question on Foreign Policy. Do your homework. If you had done your homework you might not have supported Obama and Biden. So before you start throwing stones, look in the mirror and see what is looking back at you. I believe most of you are just jealous of a female politician who has a college education, and doesn't appear to have slept her way into office.

Sarah if you are so conservative as you call yourself, then why are you encouraging Bristol and Levi to give the baby picture to the highest bidder? the answer is --- you are a money seeker. Be careful in Alaska with the people's money. They are watching at you.

I love it that she's attacking people who ask very reasonable questions. I love that she's so dumb and I especially love that she's a Republican. She symbolizes all the reasons I despise the Republican party. Anyone who uses Bronze Age thinking to make decisions scares me to death.

My vow: I will not read any more articles regarding Sarah Palin. The best way to make her go away is to stop reacting.

Sarah your 15 minutes are over. You were a lot better off just keeping your mouth shut and letting people think you were crazy. Instead you opened it and proved to people that you are.

Business must be slow in Alaska if the governor has so much time to give interviews concerning non-state issues.

This woman just keeps trying to focus the spotlight on herself for some strange reason. If I were as dumb and unprofessional as she appears to be, I wouldn't want any media coverage. It would be to her advantage to go hide somewhere and hope the media forgot about her. (While she's hiding, maybe she could learn to actually speak correct English??)

I notice the McCain campaign has never come to her defense on ANY thing since the election was over. Maybe there's a reason for that???

And BTW, Sarah, did you ever return the $150K worth of clothes??? No, I didn't think so.

Oh so it's the big bad media again, the media is the new communism. Same old Republican just attach everything you don't understand or like instead of the real problems of this country...maybe that's the problem the Republican's are the real problem and just don't realize it.

With our economy in crisis, wars in Iraq and Afghanistan at turning points, a third conflict (by proxy) in Gaza, her favorite campaign issue of energy a top concern, and her own family experience giving her the opportunity to speak on issues of disabled children and unplanned pregnancy, all Palin is doing is TALKING ABOUT HERSELF ALL THE TIME. At this rate she will never be taken seriously for higher office.

Whether she's truly nuts or just obsessed with chasing the windmills of who-cares nutcase bloggers, Steve's post below is dead on - she should take her own advice and let things go. She's only perpetuating a vicious cycle by making personal attacks while casting herself as a victim.

    Governor Palin,

One thing you need to understand, as a poised and polished politician, is that you can't take a lot of what is said about you or your family serious. Why at this juncture are you wasting your time commenting on all that has been said about you? It is not going to change the outcome of the election, and or unfortuately, what the majority of people think about you. Besides, you are the Governor of Alaska; don't you have better things to do?

Pay attention to your counterparts, and learn to "let it go sister." It's is over. Drop it!

GO AWAY!!!! HOW DUMB ARE YOU? DOESN'T ALL THIS GET THROUGH YOUR THICK HEAD. YOU ARE A FAILURE. WE KNOW WHAT YOU AND YOUR ADVISORS ARE TRYING TO DO. START EARLY AND BLAME THE MEDIA SO THAT IN 2012 YOU CAN SAY MEDIA WAS NEVER FAIR TO ME.

ACTUALLY I WANT YOU TO BE THE NOMINEE FOR THE GOP IN 2012. OBAMA WILL NOT HAVE TO CAMPAIGN AT ALL AND SWEEP ALL STATES.

SO STOP LOOKING LIKE A PATHETIC LADY WITH ALL YOUR STUPID COMMENTS. JUST STAY HOME AND EAT MOOSE BURGER.
