Palin slams 'bored, anonymous, pathetic bloggers who lie'

[cnn-photo-caption image= http://i2.cdn.turner.com/cnn/2008/images/12/08/art.palinop.gi.jpg caption="Palin has given a steady stream of interviews since Election Day."](CNN) - Sarah Palin fired a new salvo in her war on the media, unloading in a new interview on her home state paper and “bored, anonymous, pathetic bloggers who lie.”

The Alaska governor, who has granted a steady stream of interviews since Election Day, also told an Esquire reporter that she wishes she had told McCain campaign advisors she’d be “callin’ some of the shots.”

"Bored, anonymous, pathetic bloggers who lie annoy me....I'll tell you, yesterday the Anchorage Daily News, they called again to ask — double-, triple-, quadruple-check — who is Trig's real mom,” she said, in an interview to be published in the magazine’s March issue.

“And I said, Come on, are you kidding me? We're gonna answer this? Do you not believe me or my doctor? And they said, No, it's been quite cryptic the way that my son's birth has been discussed. And I thought, Okay, more indication of continued problems in the world of journalism."

But Palin said she had adopted a philosophical attitude on the downside of the spotlight. "You have to let it go,” she said. “Even hard news sources, credible news sources — the comment about, you can see Russia from Alaska. You can! You can see Russia from Alaska. Something like that — a factual statement that was taken out of context and mocked — what you have to do is let that go."

The former Republican vice presidential candidate said again she regretted not taking a greater leadership role during the campaign season. "If I were giving advice to myself back on the day my candidacy was announced, I'd say, Tell the campaign that you'll be callin' some of the shots,” she said. “Don't just assume that they know you well enough to make all your decisions for ya. Let them know that you're the CEO of a state, you're forty-four years old, you've got a lot of great life experience that can be put to good use as a candidate."

Despite a season of barbs aimed at the coastal elites, Palin seemed to offer an olive branch to the Big Apple: "I would think we all tear up during the national anthem at the beginning of a baseball game, don't we? That's an alikeness between Alaskans and New Yorkers," she said.

Update: In an Anchorage Daily News column published last week, the paper's editor said the only questions reporters there had asked about Trig's birth came when the paper undertook a project to debunk conspiracy theories surrounding the event, but that they had abandoned the effort because of a lack of cooperation from the Palin family.

"I don't believe we have ever published in the newspaper a story, a letter, a column or anything alleging a coverup surrounding your maternity," wrote the editor in an e-mail sent to Palin and reprinted on the paper's blog. "In fact, my integrity and the integrity of the newspaper have been repeatedly attacked in national forums for our complicity in the 'coverup.'

Later, he added: "...So I don’t understand the behavior of the governor’s press office. Did the governor not share my email with the press staff? Did the press staff deliberately ignore what I said in order to have a longer list of press 'outrages'? Or are they just sloppy with details? I don’t know."

Will woman go away already! I thought that she had so much work to do in the grand old state of Alaska. Huumm, looks like there's not much to really do there after all (so she see's it). Does she want to be governor there and give her service to the people of Alaska, or be in the mainstream media. No one cares what she has to say anymore – she keeps forcing her way in to some type of "light". For someone who dislikes the media so strongly, she can't seem to keep herself out of the spot light. Is this the new Britney Spears? Even she knew when to stop. This woman is scarry!

If she wants any decent shot at national politics in the future, she should shut her mouth – NOW!

ja – ARE YOU FREAKING SERIOUS????!!!!

Fresh, honest, and moral? What world are you living in? Oh, let me guess – you also think Rush Limbaugh, Bill O'Reilly, Ann Coulter, and Joe the Idiot are outstanding American role models?

Instead fo fresh, honest and moral, I think it's more like stale, hypocritical and hateful.

Please... its only the most pathetic of people that would blame an entire group for their own failings. Ms. Palin, you are a politician who made some missteps and then was ridiculed for them. Welcome to national politics, ma'am. You fared no worse with the media than every other politician.

Of course, I understand: If the media isn't to blame for the way she is treated, than she must be. That must be VERY difficult to swallow when you just aren't that intelligent.

I hope she's around for a long long time. I hope she takes over the RNC since she is a perfect third-party leader.

Is it me, or has anyone noticed that CNN doesn't publish well thought out comments? Instead they post the "hate" and "acid."

I guess if I want to get published I have to say something like "PALIN IS A CRAZY LADY!?!?" We need to just ignore her!!

Maybe that will get published (versus the other the 5 comments this month that were well thought out and compelling). HAHA.

Palin needs to stop complaining. MSN needs to stop trying to portray Palin's whining to legitimate news.

Someone, please give this woman her own TV show! How about a ' reality show' centering around 'cat-fighting females.' Meow. Or maybe she could replace Springer or Povich. They are a tired, pathetic pair.

I do agree with her about the bloggers though. Heck, I wouldn't be writing this post if I had something more important to do right now.

She is like a train wreck, I know I shouldn't read these silly articles, but I can't stop myself! Sarah, there is a "g" at the end of "ing" words, even a CEO knows that.
She doesn't like SNL, but she appeared on the show.
She hates the media, but she gives an interview every day of her life.
She cannot take responsibility for anything, a true Bushie!
Go away Sarah, who is running the great state of Alasa while you are giving interviews ad nauseum? Todd?

Sarah Palin is like a car wreck that, inadvertently, causes you to slow down and gawk.

There's no way she can seriously believe she's a contender for the White House in 2012; does she honestly think the "gotcha media" won't recall every stupid thing she said/did before & after the election?

Let's just drive by this train wreck, pray that everyone is well and not too seriously hurt and keep traffic flowing; there is so much else going on in our country and in the world, that if we ignore her she will eventually fade away.

For love of all things precious to mankind, can CNN please stop picking up on things this woman says! How is this of any importance to me? To the mortgage mess? To the credit crunch? To the lack of universal healthcare? My point incase it was missed is that SARAH PALIN IS OF NO IMPORTANCE. Now if CNN would simply stop making a point to care, she will get the point that WE DO NOT CARE ABOUT WHAT SHE SAYS – which is usually something nonsensical anyway!

Please CNN I beg you, help us in making this woman just fade! She is a pathetic sore looser who has in her shallow fantasy filled world that her words are of some importance to us. Let her go back to school and get a real degree and then maybe, just maybe she can have a better Katie Couric interview!!! Or maybe she should just keep eating moose burgers, pray for a brain and continue seeing Russia from her house!

It is about time she fights back! All she did was run for office and put up a good fight. While I agree that she was not quite prepared to become VP, she doesn't deserves all of the hate from media and you posters. ………… “bored, anonymous, pathetic bloggers who lie.” funny it sounds like she was refering to the posters here at CNN!

My problem is reading the story and posting my comment before I'm overwhelmed by other posts. I must say that people (including myself) think this female idiot is nuts and ready for a Psych Ward. Her education leaves her absolutely clueless.

Actually, it is good that in her wisdom Sarah Palin has decided to go for overexposure in the media, and you what happens to people who that in the end. I think she should keep it up, and watch her supporters fall by the wayside.

Frankly, from this part of the world, Governor Palin sounds senile. It is as though one had a lousy drunk night and comes out to explain why they stripped in public. Duh, when you have one bad night, you simply move on and convince yourself, in the crevicles of your mind that you are not going to be that 'DUMB' again.

She was simply not ready and that is a stepping stone...but don't try to sell us this nonsense!

A simple word of advice: ' Get off the scene for a while and re-align your ammo!'
