[cnn-photo-caption image= http://i2.cdn.turner.com/cnn/2008/images/12/08/art.palinop.gi.jpg caption="Palin has given a steady stream of interviews since Election Day."](CNN) - Sarah Palin fired a new salvo in her war on the media, unloading in a new interview on her home state paper and “bored, anonymous, pathetic bloggers who lie.”
The Alaska governor, who has granted a steady stream of interviews since Election Day, also told an Esquire reporter that she wishes she had told McCain campaign advisors she’d be “callin’ some of the shots.”
"Bored, anonymous, pathetic bloggers who lie annoy me....I'll tell you, yesterday the Anchorage Daily News, they called again to ask — double-, triple-, quadruple-check — who is Trig's real mom,” she said, in an interview to be published in the magazine’s March issue.
“And I said, Come on, are you kidding me? We're gonna answer this? Do you not believe me or my doctor? And they said, No, it's been quite cryptic the way that my son's birth has been discussed. And I thought, Okay, more indication of continued problems in the world of journalism."
But Palin said she had adopted a philosophical attitude on the downside of the spotlight. "You have to let it go,” she said. “Even hard news sources, credible news sources — the comment about, you can see Russia from Alaska. You can! You can see Russia from Alaska. Something like that — a factual statement that was taken out of context and mocked — what you have to do is let that go."
The former Republican vice presidential candidate said again she regretted not taking a greater leadership role during the campaign season. "If I were giving advice to myself back on the day my candidacy was announced, I'd say, Tell the campaign that you'll be callin' some of the shots,” she said. “Don't just assume that they know you well enough to make all your decisions for ya. Let them know that you're the CEO of a state, you're forty-four years old, you've got a lot of great life experience that can be put to good use as a candidate."
Despite a season of barbs aimed at the coastal elites, Palin seemed to offer an olive branch to the Big Apple: "I would think we all tear up during the national anthem at the beginning of a baseball game, don't we? That's an alikeness between Alaskans and New Yorkers," she said.
Update: In an Anchorage Daily News column published last week, the paper's editor said the only questions reporters there had asked about Trig's birth came when the paper undertook a project to debunk conspiracy theories surrounding the event, but that they had abandoned the effort because of a lack of cooperation from the Palin family.
"I don't believe we have ever published in the newspaper a story, a letter, a column or anything alleging a coverup surrounding your maternity," wrote the editor in an e-mail sent to Palin and reprinted on the paper's blog. "In fact, my integrity and the integrity of the newspaper have been repeatedly attacked in national forums for our complicity in the 'coverup.'
Later, he added: "...So I don’t understand the behavior of the governor’s press office. Did the governor not share my email with the press staff? Did the press staff deliberately ignore what I said in order to have a longer list of press 'outrages'? Or are they just sloppy with details? I don’t know."
Doesn't Palin have a degree in Journalism? Maybe she should quit politics (thank God) and put the integrity back in the business of honest, thoughtful, unbias, media journalism.
That's right, she can't do that because she doesn't have any of those qualities.
Thank you CNN for your daily trashing of Sarah Palin, as the more you write your tired drivel, the more free press that Palin gets.
There was a time where we all appreciated someone who achieved some level of success based not on their name, or who they were married too, but on their own words and actions, but “journalists” like you and MSDNC employ, have long ago removed their veil of objectivity.
I venture that many of the same types of people that mock Palin for her non-traditional speech and folksy demeanor, would love her if she simply abided by the principles set forth by the National organization of women and feminists all.
Nobody with any integrity would even suggest that she was fairly treated during the election
CNN should be looking into Panetta, Holder and the socialist Climate person who Obama nominated over the weekend, instead we get Palin hammer pieces and Obambi fluff pieces.
Nothing has changed since the election, the love fest continues.

I think Sarah Palin is the only breath of fresh, honest, and moral air that there is on the political front today and instead of hammering her all the time, I feel she should be recognized for what a great and inteligent person she is. It is my hope that she will consider letting her name be placed in the hat for the presidency in 2012. By then, WE WILL REALLY BE NEEDING A BREATH OF FRESH AIR. God bless you Sarah, keep up the fight. There are a lot of us with you.
You probably think George Bush was a good president too, also smart. You may be more stupid then they are.
Once again the prima-donna beauty Ice queen of denial is speaking to the voters.
Will she be speaking along with Bush tomorrow night ? Sharing her Christian Wrong values ?
Her DRILL DRILL DRILL big oil intentions ?
Would you please remind her she is not a poor victim , but a volunteer obstructionist !
For Palin to make the statement about the honesty of voters is sad, she can't take the truth.
And like our out going president , Mrs Palin is out of touch with the world.
Stay in Alaska, and give my best to Ted Steven's .
Let me know when the 3,000 dollar red leather jacket goes up for sale on ebay ?
Somebody needs to explain to her that nobody cares about his stuff anymore, not during these economic times. Yes, Sarah, you are Trig's mom. Every time you speak that becomes painfully clear.
sociopath.
Do you want some cheeze with that whine? Go away!!!!!!!!!! Nobody cares!!!!!!!!!!!!! Being a puppet sucks, doesn't it?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
No matter your politics and like/dislike of Palin's positions – the rumors and pure hatred directed toward her is beyond reason. I would be "blasting" and "slamming" the people who were attacking my family as well, in that sense she is reacting as most people would. The anonymity of blogs and posting boards does seem to bring out the worst in people. The name calling and extremism on both sides is appalling. If these conversations were being held between people who had to sit side by side at a party or see each other across their back yard fence the "conversations" would be much more civil and respectful.
I think the question to pose may be – Are you bored Palin or just pathetic?
Oh, please. Snarking out bloggers? Doesn't the Governor have anything better to talk about? Aren't there more important topics? In fact, now that we're talking about more important topics, isn't there anything more important to discuss than the Governor of Alaska? Give it a rest, folks.
What's pathetic are Ms. Palin's attempts to keep her name in the news media. Sarah, go away, we don't care about you anymore. Your 15 minutes are up
Gov. Palin, let me be the first to apologize for all the idiots posting on this site. They've done nothing in the service of this country other than complain. You have my admiration for standing tall at this time. Thank you.
I don't care one bit about who is Trigg's mom even though I believe Sarah Palin is his mother. This woman has no depth of intellect and it says something about Alaska that she has been elected as governor. Fox news (especially Greta Van Sustern) is so enamored by her so why does CNN keep putting her face before us? Fox filmed her cooking moose chili in a business suit and high heels and wants us to believe that is the real world????
It is ironic that people talk about her 5 minutes of fame, and how she meant nothing to the race, and nobody cares what she thinks or says.
The fact of the matter is there is DEMAND from the public, and the media, for Sarah Palin stories, and interviews.
Like it or not, she isnt going away.
A 'huge' McCain miscalculation???
That is McCain's specialty item.....
huge miscalculations. Before long
they all look the same.
I find Sarah Palin the only comic relief in this drab and dull media coverage. Encore!
Jo (and others)
You are either unaware, or ignoring the facts. Sarah Palin's comments about "you can see Russia from Alaska" was the result of editing her remarks to appear her less informed than she really was. She was asked about relationship to Russia as a result of the Georgia incident. She commented that that while the US should stand firm, we should not return to the days of the cold war. She also said that Russia was an important neighbor to Alaska – and to emphasize that, made the remark about being able to see Russia -. The editors took out all her comments except the one quoted above. Quite a hatchet job!
The spotlight is a very addictive drug & Sarah Palin is 100% hooked. She needs to take a page from her running mate John McCain, GO SOMEWHERE AND CHILL!! She loves being famous & she's trying to get rich. The Republican party have to be still kicking themselves in the butt behind this one. Palin needs to allow us to forget about her but she won't let us. It's pathetic.
I'm feeling the need to comment on a few things I've read in other posts.
To those tired of seeing Palin in the press: Look at it this way, she's a lot like a train wreck. You shouldn't stare, but you just can't look away cause you're wondering what might happen next. Granted, I'm tired of her too and I just wish she'd go back to her office and do her job.
Her use/misuse of English doesn't bother me so much. But it just doesn't come across as professional enough to be in the White House.
I too feel she needs to toughen up and look in the mirror. For all the things she spewed out during the campaign, all she can do now is whine? If lies anger you Ms. Palin, why were you not upset at the hatred shouted about Obama during your campaign speeches? Shoot, even McCain chose to stand up for Obama and tried to stop that stuff.
I agree with earlier comments in that if you want questions regarding your son's birth to stop, give people a definitive answer!
Palin loves to be in the spotlight. This shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone who watched her political rallies and television interviews. She is just playing the blame game to get attention – it's what she does best. Everyone is tired of hearing about her regrets.
Get over it, go away and shut up.
You can't have it both ways. On the one hand she wants to be in the spotlight and get lots of attention, i.e. press. But then when she opens her mouth and we all hear what a joke she is – suddenly the press is supposed to be quite and stop picking on her. And saying she wishes she had let the McCain campaign know how she was a CEO of a state and had lots of life experience, was 40 years old, etc. – are you kidding me? Guess what – they already knew that stuff. You can bet they knew everything about her before they selected her. And newsflash Sarah – the reason you didn't call your own shots is because you were the "running mate". Look it up if that is a new one for you. They were trying to protect your image by not having you open your mouth too much – and now we know why.
Sarah, Sarah, Sarah. Tsk, tsk. You are the one who is a liar. And, of course, we understand that the "biased liberal media" is any reporter who catches you and your ilk in in a lie and exposes you. Perhaps you should consider that one of the primary reasons you are not the Vipe President-elect is that you don't know (among many, many other things) that an anonymous blogger, is not a member of the media.
Does she plan on keeping her political life alive by using these tactics like this for the next 8 years? I hardly think she is qualified or educated enough to do the job of President in the future. I don't care what gender runs for the Whitehouse but I would appreciate someone with better control and a family history that wouldn't constantly be a point of concern and questioning. This whole family is a train wreck waiting to happen. I surely hope the Republicans wake up soon and understand they need changes and starting with her would be a good start. She's not what the Republicans need now or in the future.
are you people for real !? get off the internet and get a life.
"Oh and if she really wants the issue of Trig's birth mother to go away, just release the medical record. That would end it right there"
Why? It has nothing to do with anything and is no one's business. Obama released his birth certificate but he felt he needed to in order to prove he was eligible to run for President. All these people whining and complaining and putting Palin down are just as bad as she is.
"Move on!" "Enough already!" "Get over it!" Take your own advice and stop worrying about Palin.
