Palin slams 'bored, anonymous, pathetic bloggers who lie'

[cnn-photo-caption image= http://i2.cdn.turner.com/cnn/2008/images/12/08/art.palinop.gi.jpg caption="Palin has given a steady stream of interviews since Election Day."](CNN) - Sarah Palin fired a new salvo in her war on the media, unloading in a new interview on her home state paper and “bored, anonymous, pathetic bloggers who lie.”

The Alaska governor, who has granted a steady stream of interviews since Election Day, also told an Esquire reporter that she wishes she had told McCain campaign advisors she’d be “callin’ some of the shots.”

"Bored, anonymous, pathetic bloggers who lie annoy me....I'll tell you, yesterday the Anchorage Daily News, they called again to ask — double-, triple-, quadruple-check — who is Trig's real mom,” she said, in an interview to be published in the magazine’s March issue.

“And I said, Come on, are you kidding me? We're gonna answer this? Do you not believe me or my doctor? And they said, No, it's been quite cryptic the way that my son's birth has been discussed. And I thought, Okay, more indication of continued problems in the world of journalism."

But Palin said she had adopted a philosophical attitude on the downside of the spotlight. "You have to let it go,” she said. “Even hard news sources, credible news sources — the comment about, you can see Russia from Alaska. You can! You can see Russia from Alaska. Something like that — a factual statement that was taken out of context and mocked — what you have to do is let that go."

The former Republican vice presidential candidate said again she regretted not taking a greater leadership role during the campaign season. "If I were giving advice to myself back on the day my candidacy was announced, I'd say, Tell the campaign that you'll be callin' some of the shots,” she said. “Don't just assume that they know you well enough to make all your decisions for ya. Let them know that you're the CEO of a state, you're forty-four years old, you've got a lot of great life experience that can be put to good use as a candidate."

Despite a season of barbs aimed at the coastal elites, Palin seemed to offer an olive branch to the Big Apple: "I would think we all tear up during the national anthem at the beginning of a baseball game, don't we? That's an alikeness between Alaskans and New Yorkers," she said.

Update: In an Anchorage Daily News column published last week, the paper's editor said the only questions reporters there had asked about Trig's birth came when the paper undertook a project to debunk conspiracy theories surrounding the event, but that they had abandoned the effort because of a lack of cooperation from the Palin family.

"I don't believe we have ever published in the newspaper a story, a letter, a column or anything alleging a coverup surrounding your maternity," wrote the editor in an e-mail sent to Palin and reprinted on the paper's blog. "In fact, my integrity and the integrity of the newspaper have been repeatedly attacked in national forums for our complicity in the 'coverup.'

Later, he added: "...So I don’t understand the behavior of the governor’s press office. Did the governor not share my email with the press staff? Did the press staff deliberately ignore what I said in order to have a longer list of press 'outrages'? Or are they just sloppy with details? I don’t know."

She is the reason I no longer admire John McCain, a tragic lack of judgement on his part

    She's right.

You bloggers are pathetic. You sit here all day and debate things you have no say in, using blogosphere rumors to launch accusations and ruin careers.

I'm not a Palin supporter, but she's probably a better person than most of you negative bloggers – she's accomplished more in her life than the typing of a vitriolic 50 word essay embedded into the tail end of a CNN article.

Ms. Palin continues to insult the intellect of all Americans through her continued suggestions that she actually had the skills to be a Vice-President. Regrettably for Ms. Palin, her candidacy and knowledge of world and economic issues, were comical. She provided great fodder for America's comedians. Unfortunately, she let down John McCain and his supporters with her nonsense and lack of intellect. If America is to regain credibility on the world stage, then the Palin's must lay low for awhile as the majority of world citizens can see right through her b.s. She's in it for the money now and it's all quite sickening.

Sarah has attempted to fetch some ideological scum which is at the root of the criminal inclination in the American psyche. She shuttled her campaign between two dangerous elements, racism and terrorism. In many instances she threw the bait into the republican arena hoping that an insane person would carry out her murderous intent. She failed every time. She had not realized that America had matured. The age of the Klan has expired. Here in America even Moose and Whales, dogs and cats have rights-they are protected by law. If she is not charged for conspiracy to commit political murder, she should simply go away FOR GOOD.

Has anyone told her that it is over? There is no recount? If she wants to go on to national prominence she should talk about the serious issues facing the nation and the world, not about personnel innuendo with which all politicains and celebrities have to endure.

I can't understand why it would be hard to prove that Trig is her son. She was a mayor and she's a Governor of a state. There are bound to be some pictures of her while pregnant. I just don't get it.

Palin is not worth talking about. She needs to go away and quit bothering the American People. We are in such dire circumstances and all she can thing about is her special needs child. I don't care who the child belongs to and neither does anyone else. Please CNN find something useful to report.

To CNN, I'm 26 years old, and haven't heard words like the ones that come out of Ms. Palin's mouth since I was in high school. If teeny-bopper she-said-she-said clawing is newsworthy, then at least hire some investigative journalists of that age to properly cover it. If you're not willing to sink all the way, then please investigate some grown-up stories, like how entrenched we are in these bloody wars, the corrupt managing of such, what it's doing to the world, you know, NEWS. Tired of this non-person Sarah Palin. Please read the comments here, no one will miss her!

Sarah Palin wants out of the spotlight so bad–but she keeps putting herself there! If you don't want attention, stay in Alaska!

"I'd be callin the shots" – such a deluded thing she is – from nothing to sorta something back to nothing – she's a legend in her own lunchtime.

    Palin who?

actually, she has a point. Unfortunately, it's not the one she's trying to make. Governor Palin has never objected to the blogs that support her which overstate her credentials and experience. Nor has she objected to blogs which make false statements about the President-elect's birth certificate, Muslim religion, sexual orientation, drug use as an adult, or the like. She happily went on programs such as Hannity's, when Hannity repeatedly misrepresented the roles of Jim Johnson and Franklin Raines as "key advisors" of Mr. Obama.

If Governor Palin is unwilling to condemn all anonymous bloggers–including those who support her and those who criticize her opponents, she's seeking selective freedom of speech.

The only time I have ever heard the question about who is Trig's mother is out of Sarah Palin's mouth. Sarah, it's over. Get on with your life. Suck it up. Swallow your pride and leave the rest of us alone.

CNN do Sarah a favor and let it go, the more you cover her the more the people are against her. If she is ever to re-coup her diginity she will need to fall out of sight. Not to return until 2016 because if she even thinks 2012 will be a good year for her. She will be deeply disapointed. Too many bad memories of the way she campaigned against our new PRESIDENT OBAMA.
Poor Sar hahahahahahah. can't stand the heat but won't get out the kitchen.

YIKES! If the media and people continue to keep pestering her, she will not go away. She obviously has to have the last word in every situation. DON"T GIVE HER THE OPPORTUNITY TO OPEN UP HER MOUTH! Out of sight, out of mind. She will NEVER GET IT! CNN, give us a break and leave painful Palin alone. Attention just makes her THRIVE – negative or positive. Pathetic.
