Palin slams 'bored, anonymous, pathetic bloggers who lie'

[cnn-photo-caption image= http://i2.cdn.turner.com/cnn/2008/images/12/08/art.palinop.gi.jpg caption="Palin has given a steady stream of interviews since Election Day."](CNN) - Sarah Palin fired a new salvo in her war on the media, unloading in a new interview on her home state paper and “bored, anonymous, pathetic bloggers who lie.”

The Alaska governor, who has granted a steady stream of interviews since Election Day, also told an Esquire reporter that she wishes she had told McCain campaign advisors she’d be “callin’ some of the shots.”

"Bored, anonymous, pathetic bloggers who lie annoy me....I'll tell you, yesterday the Anchorage Daily News, they called again to ask — double-, triple-, quadruple-check — who is Trig's real mom,” she said, in an interview to be published in the magazine’s March issue.

“And I said, Come on, are you kidding me? We're gonna answer this? Do you not believe me or my doctor? And they said, No, it's been quite cryptic the way that my son's birth has been discussed. And I thought, Okay, more indication of continued problems in the world of journalism."

But Palin said she had adopted a philosophical attitude on the downside of the spotlight. "You have to let it go,” she said. “Even hard news sources, credible news sources — the comment about, you can see Russia from Alaska. You can! You can see Russia from Alaska. Something like that — a factual statement that was taken out of context and mocked — what you have to do is let that go."

The former Republican vice presidential candidate said again she regretted not taking a greater leadership role during the campaign season. "If I were giving advice to myself back on the day my candidacy was announced, I'd say, Tell the campaign that you'll be callin' some of the shots,” she said. “Don't just assume that they know you well enough to make all your decisions for ya. Let them know that you're the CEO of a state, you're forty-four years old, you've got a lot of great life experience that can be put to good use as a candidate."

Despite a season of barbs aimed at the coastal elites, Palin seemed to offer an olive branch to the Big Apple: "I would think we all tear up during the national anthem at the beginning of a baseball game, don't we? That's an alikeness between Alaskans and New Yorkers," she said.

Update: In an Anchorage Daily News column published last week, the paper's editor said the only questions reporters there had asked about Trig's birth came when the paper undertook a project to debunk conspiracy theories surrounding the event, but that they had abandoned the effort because of a lack of cooperation from the Palin family.

"I don't believe we have ever published in the newspaper a story, a letter, a column or anything alleging a coverup surrounding your maternity," wrote the editor in an e-mail sent to Palin and reprinted on the paper's blog. "In fact, my integrity and the integrity of the newspaper have been repeatedly attacked in national forums for our complicity in the 'coverup.'

Later, he added: "...So I don’t understand the behavior of the governor’s press office. Did the governor not share my email with the press staff? Did the press staff deliberately ignore what I said in order to have a longer list of press 'outrages'? Or are they just sloppy with details? I don’t know."

Sarah Palin, calling bloggers "liars"? This is the Sarah Palin who perpetually attempted to deceive the country into thinking she was against pork projects and did everything she could do to convince us that President Barack Hussein Obama is a terrorist? How ironic that the most nescient person when it comes to politics could make such an outrageous claim.

Well, it looks like it is unanimous; you are not a very popular person, Sarah. I guess we have all realized that the frigid air has penetrated your soul.

There's a lot of whining going on and Sarah Palin is not the one doing it.

Here is a person so self centered and unsure of herself, she goes defensive about everything. In a way, it is good she is letting the world know what a klutz she is, now, so she has no shot at national politics in the future. The people in Alaska need to get her out of office.

It is true i have seen the video: the media and Tina Fey twisted the words of Palin.
Her words about Russia were taken completely out of context.
Palin said something of preventing a second cold war , and pointed out that there is a island in Alaska from where you can Russia.
The video is on you tube.

As much as I dislike the woman and what she stands for, she does have a point. The internet is full of spewing garbage. What she isn't recognising is that it goes both ways, and plenty of terrible rumours about Obama and such go around. It's no like she's the only one. Remember the whole Barack Hussein Obama–the Muslim American-hater?

2012??? I don't think so! No one took her words out on context. It was no joke that her statement that she could see Russia gave her foreign policy experience. Remember when Putin rears his head...where does he go...Alaska! This woman is such an idiot. She would do better just keeping her mouth shut. Maybe people would forgot about her

Palin is right about the pathetic way in which "bloggers" have tried to destroy her. All the hatemongers who try to trash her reputation – want her to go away – just make me laugh. She is a respected Governor and will continue to be relevent for a long time – perhaps becoming more and more relevent over time. If Obama and the rest of the libs do half as well as all of their Kool Aid drinking followers believe they will – Sarah will lose her relevance. My bet is that her relevance will only grow larger.

I really hope she runs in 2012. More work for Tina Fey, entertainment for everybody, and an easy win for Obama. The echo chamber she surrounds herself with, full of the 15-20% of Americans who don't think she's a moron and who agree wholeheartedly with everything she says, are no doubt encouraging her to run and to be the Obama of the Right. Let's hope they are sufficient to convince her to run and to convince the Republicans to nominate her.

    What a joke.

Sarah, how does it feel to have people do to you what you did to Obama during the campaign? The very fact that your paper doesn't seem to understand what your talking about is proof that you are just trying to stay in the spotlight. Ya liked it didn't ya. Sorry but that is about as close as you will ever get to the White House so why don't you just go hibernate somewhere in Wasilla and let us alone.

Sara Palin is a woman of faith who, thru her faith, has made an impact on so many. Yet, there are many that just don't understand what is really going on. Just remember God has a plan for all of us, it's not your plan, it's his. God Bless.

If only she were smart enough to be able to handle "calling the shots". She is nothing more than a moron. Thank God she is not going to be 2nd in command. The woman is a joke.

Yes, seeing Russia from a sliver of land on an island in Alaska is a factual statement, but the fact of that statement was never mocked. What was mocked was that the statement was made in response to a question asking about foreign policy experience. Sarah, we all watched the interview IN CONTEXT. Don't try to rewrite history by telling us your words were taken ouf ot context...
