A major Bush rule gets scrapped by Obama

Even the same curtains. But President Obama has already made one major change: Go through eight years of White House photos, and you won't find one of former President Bush in the Oval Office without his jacket on.
It wasn't just a personal preference. In the Bush administration, it was a rule: Jackets in the Oval Office - and now, it seems, one of the first Bush-era regulations to get scrapped in the Obama White House.

No stuffyness in this administration, why would Bush have his staff walk around in jackets all day?...how uncomfortable.

Whatever it takes to get the job done. It wont be about phot ops it will be about results. He can wear a Barney costume if it helps him get the job done!

How do you "work" in a jacket anyway? I bet we will even see President Obama in the Oval office with his shirt sleeves rolled up. Hopefully the people working with him will have the ability and drive to follow his lead and roll up their sleeves also !
If taking your jacket off allows you to get more work done than President Bush did, then be my guest. I don't care if he takes his shoes off as long as he gets this country back on its feet!!!
Good for Obama! It's easier to roll up your shirt sleeves without a suit jacket on. Now we'll get some work done. 🙂
It's OK – he looks great. He is alone and not entertaining or meeting with White House guests. The Oval Office is the President's office, and he should be able to work there comfortably. "43" had his own style, and that's OK too.
The only thing that would be better was if his shirt sleeves were rolled up!

Good, I am glad. Just because you wear a suit doesn't mean you are in control, professional or even smart.

It is quite obvious that Darth Vadik missed one of Obama's requests. Son, it is time to grow up and get rid of your childish toys.
I don't care if they wear their bathing suits, as long as the work gets done. The old school rules about jackets and other formalities that do not affect production need to go.
As time goes on I think we will be finding out more of Bush's rules, probably some coming very close to criminal.
Pffftttt...trying to show what a 'hard working' guy he is. Whatever. Just another photo op...When will people actually get a clue, and awake from the brainwashing?
This is 'history' in the making? Boy, I already miss GWB!
At least Obama sees it as a place to actually work and not just pose and retend to work for a photo op!
