Thank goodness. I really never liked paying taxes. Not only shouldn't I have to pay taxes, I'll claim a reimbursement for the Federal taxes I didn't even pay. Is this a great country or what?

Wonderful. The guy who ran from the IRS will now be running the IRS. The Obama administration is not even a week old and its ethics are already a joke. The Bushies are looking better every day.

Great.....NOW WE CAN ALL STOP PAYING OUR TAXES JUST LIKE GEITHER!

I'm sure he will understand, considering he STOLE the money that was given to him to use and pay his taxes.

Rush Limbaugh as usual displaying the ignorance of americans. Why would would Obama be scared of him? He's in the number 1 position in the world. Sounds more like Rush is scared of what he see's in the mirror. If he's not, he should be.

Geithner doesn't know any more about fixing our economy that anyone else in Washington. Plus his tax avoidance issue says everything I need to know about his character. Is anyone awake in Washington? Or are they all so clueless they will confirm anyone that seems to know more than they do?

The country is on the brink of a great depression and we need someone like Tim Geithner to help us get out of it. Just can't think what was on the minds of the Senators who voted against him, so he wasn't a perfect person, who is. Glad he was confirmed by a very good margin.

Tim Geithner is another instance of Obama's rapidly failing judgment and failed policies in waiting. Obama is the end of our problems. The front end!

An illegal aunt and a Treasury Secretary who can't pay taxes.

I have agreed on some of Obama's choices, but this is not "Change I Can Believe In".

Another historic first!!! The first Treasury Secretary to break the law by failing to pay taxes and hiring an illegal! Now he's in charge of ensuring you pay your taxes and uphold the rule of law.

What hypocrisy......Is this the change we can believe in??

Good – remember people, vote the republican rascals out in 2010 – they are conspiring to cause failure so they get their POWER back.

Google PNAC and you'll find out why the repukes are so desparate.

All that huffing and puffing by the GOP, and all for what? What a bunch of losers. You had your eight years, and its time to move on. Dont let the door hit your over stuffed rears on the way out.

  21. Barack wins and we collectively lose.

    Sad day in American history.

Our standards of right and wrong have just gone down significantly. I guess I don't have to pay taxes anymore either. I will just say it is an careless Turbotax mistake, and that illegal is just an oversight.

Sad day for those of us that care about right and wrong. Hello Chicago politics.

I want to thank those members of the Senate who voted against this tax cheat. Unfortunately there are those who think this tax cheat is the answer to all of our economic problems. How can a man who cheats on his taxes be allowed to have any say in the way our country will spend the money that the IRS is collecting from all his fellow tax cheaters? This is a sad day for our country.
