Limbaugh: Obama is 'frightened of me'

(CNN) - Radio host Rush Limbaugh said Monday that President Obama is “frightened of me.”
“He’s obviously more frightened of me than he is [Senate Minority Leader] Mitch McConnell,” Limbaugh told listeners. “He’s more frightened of me, then he is of say, [House Minority Leader] John Boehner, which doesn’t say much about our party.”
Limbaugh’s comments followed reports Obama warned GOP congressional leaders last week that they should stop listening to the conservative talker, who had said on air he wanted the new president to fail.
"Now this is the great unifier," he told listeners Monday. "This is the man who's going to unify everybody and usher in a new era of bipartisanship and love."
White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs gave reporters the administration's latest message to Limbaugh at Monday's press briefing: "Tell him I said, 'Hi,'" he joked.

I hope Rush Limbaugh keeps talking, because he is a large part of why the Republican party is faltering. He uses his air time to pin-point blame on any given issue to Bill Clinton or someone else on the democratic side. Now that Obama is in office, he will become the butt of his blame game. Who is served by degenerating every issue into a democrat versus republican issue? He's too concerned about defending the Republican party, rather than analyzing what is good for the country. It appears that the success of Rush Limbaugh is inversely proportional to the success of the Republican party. Go Rush!
Limbaugh did not say he wanted Obama to fail – he said he wanted Obama to fail to get his policies put into effect. And I for one agree – I too don't want this country to go another $1 trillion in debt and I don't want the government to begin to take control over the entire private sector and free market – that approach was tried, in Russia after 1917, and it didn't work. And it was tried in Communist China and it didn't work and the Chinese realized it and they are beginning to convert their country to what this country used to be and they are beginning to blow our socks off.
Who cares if somone is a liberal, conservative, or an independent. I listened to Limbaugh when he first hit the airwaves and realized very quickly that he was not a positive individual and has to say whatever it takes to keep a controversial "tone" beating. This has made this individual very wealthy and he's concerned now that he's losing a little steam and in time will fall out of favor. Its long overdue and I'm astounded that so many listen to this guy..grow up and think for yourself and do something productive with your time..Bill in Idaho

Hey right wingers...you're right, Rush did say he wanted Obama's socialist policies to fail. Like we are going to become Cuba or something. He did not say he wanted Obama to fail but his half-truths show that he is not going to support any change in this country either.
However, later in that same program he DID say that voters chose Obama "because of his black father". This is not the first time he has gone down that road and Obama is not the first black he has disparaged in that manner. The issue with Rush is he is an intolerant racist. And if he speaks for you right wingers, as so many of you here claim, then we have much bigger problems in this country than some drug addled idiot.

@walter: It is very easy to explain. He does not have 20 million listeners. Just because he says he does does not mean it's truth. In fact, now that radio listenership has started being measured factually with devices that note what the listeners ACTUALLY tuned to instead of what they say the tune to, my understanding is that Rush's audience is being measured at less than 1/3 of what was previously believed. So try again Dittoheads–you are a much smaller force than previously believed. As such you should not really be heeded.
