Limbaugh: Obama is 'frightened of me'

(CNN) - Radio host Rush Limbaugh said Monday that President Obama is “frightened of me.”
“He’s obviously more frightened of me than he is [Senate Minority Leader] Mitch McConnell,” Limbaugh told listeners. “He’s more frightened of me, then he is of say, [House Minority Leader] John Boehner, which doesn’t say much about our party.”
Limbaugh’s comments followed reports Obama warned GOP congressional leaders last week that they should stop listening to the conservative talker, who had said on air he wanted the new president to fail.
"Now this is the great unifier," he told listeners Monday. "This is the man who's going to unify everybody and usher in a new era of bipartisanship and love."
White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs gave reporters the administration's latest message to Limbaugh at Monday's press briefing: "Tell him I said, 'Hi,'" he joked.

Now that's funny. Obama doesn't give a hoot. This is Limbaugh trying desperately to remain relevant when the entire nation has moved ON.
If Republicans want to get their party back on track, they've got their work cut out for them!~ For starters, perhaps they should consider disowning this loudmouth.
Nobody, including Obama, appreciates an ignorant hypocritical defeatist. The country would be much better off without fundamentalist loons like Rush on both sides. He takes the cake for sure. He's just trying to fire up his ratings like he did during the Clinton years. Unfortunately there are plenty of listeners willing to listen to him babble about nothing.

Rush is a pill popping jerk, who does he think he is anyway? I laughed out loud when I read what he said. The best thing you can do with people with big heads like he has is just ignore them, they do what they do for the attention they can get to make themselves seem important. As for the other jerks that listen to him they are just more of the same.

Rush Limbaugh is a legend in his own mind. Why in the world would President Obama be afraid him? Despite his broad "ditto head" cult group Rush has NO power because if he did then McCain and Palin would be in office and not Obama and Biden. President Obama on the other hand holds the most powerful office in the world so who should fear who? Besides any person that hopes faliure on the president of our nation and calls themselves a TRUE American is a crock. If Obama fails, then we as a country fail. You don't have to have voted for or even like the president and not want him to be successful. But I guess when you make millions of dollars then a sick economy with high unemployment is the least of your worries.

Please stop covering stories about Rush Limbaugh's incendiary statements. He is a fanatical one trick pony whose welcome on the media landscape has expired. Like Hannity and the cloven hoofed coulter- rush's rantings have become pathetic, and tired. Lets tell the news, not lend any credence to tabloid talk hosts.
Part of the logic of having political parties is that it keeps everyone relatively honest. If a clearly dominant party were to emerge and move the other one out completely, then it would be an unequal distribution of power and the dominant party would run roughshod over everyone (power corrupts; absolute power corrupts absolutely).
I say that it keeps everybody "relatively" honest because we still end up with people like Blago and Jack Abramoff and Dick Cheney.
All this being said, we also end up with the far extremes, and Limbaugh falls into this category. He is so extreme that he is irrelevant. Even the Republicans would like to forget him.
Rush Limbaugh is symptomatic of what is wrong with the Republican party today. He is clinging to the old style, simplistic, black & white (no shades of gray, i.e. nuance), labeling, non-thinking, inflammatory style of rhetoric that so many people are tired of. It is too bad that he still has a pretty large following, but I believe most of his followers are the types for whom the term "critical thinking" probably means something from a movie or TV show critic's opinions about the latest B-grade entertainment show. I believe that if the Republican party is going to continue to be relevant, they need to relegate people like Rush Limbaugh to the dust bin and start supporting more mainstream intelligent spokespersons who can articulate some alternatives when dealing with the complex issues we face today.

REPUBLICAN Governor Arnold Schwartzenegger got it right with this pill-popping gasbag a couple of years ago when he said that "Rush Limbaugh is irrelevant". It's because of politicians that fall into lockstep with Limbaugh and buy into the neocon flawed philosophy that he espouses that we have these economic troubles. Obama is right–NOT RUSH!! Politicians–READ THIS AND UNDERSTAND– If you don't do what is right for our country–Dem or Rep(I couldn't care less!!)–then expect to take another drubbing in the next election.
