Limbaugh: Obama is 'frightened of me'

[cnn-photo-caption image= http://i2.cdn.turner.com/cnn/2009/images/01/26/art.rush0126.gi.jpg caption=" Conservative radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh responded Monday to recent reported comments by President Obama."]
(CNN) - Radio host Rush Limbaugh said Monday that President Obama is “frightened of me.”

“He’s obviously more frightened of me than he is [Senate Minority Leader] Mitch McConnell,” Limbaugh told listeners. “He’s more frightened of me, then he is of say, [House Minority Leader] John Boehner, which doesn’t say much about our party.”

Limbaugh’s comments followed reports Obama warned GOP congressional leaders last week that they should stop listening to the conservative talker, who had said on air he wanted the new president to fail.

"Now this is the great unifier," he told listeners Monday. "This is the man who's going to unify everybody and usher in a new era of bipartisanship and love."

White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs gave reporters the administration's latest message to Limbaugh at Monday's press briefing: "Tell him I said, 'Hi,'" he joked.

I guess Mr. Limbaugh has not figured out that it was his brand of commercial politics, primarily designed to sell advertising, is dead. I am a Republican and have noticed that my party has declined in signficance at the hands of political hacks like Limbaugh. Perhaps if he switched parties he would do as much damage to the Democrats as his kind did to the GOP. Maybe then we can be the Grand Old Party once again.

    wow, wat a jerk
anyone who wants to see our country fail should be kept an eye on

those kinds of people should be the ones that should be denied flight on airlines rather than people who are from the middle east

if your gonna deny anyone anything, it should be because ideas, not race

Obama is the President of the United States. What does Obama have fear from a Conservative like Rush Limbaugh?

I think it is far more telling that Limbaugh has needed to result to statements like that to get media attention given the marked acceptance the Obama administration has already received in his first week as President? I and many others await many more great things to come from this administration.

Rush, we are all just bored and tired of you. You don't even believe most of what you say anymore. This is just another in a long and tedious string of attempts to get attention and improve your sagging ratings. Love of country doesn't even being to play into your mindset. You want to make sure that you're not deemed irrelevant. What a sad, pitiful, angry, unloved man. Sit there with your bags of cash and scream to yourself some more. Meanwhile, moderate Republicans like me will support our new President and stand by him as he attempts to restore this country to its once-great state.

It just shows what an ego-maniac Rush is by the fact that he won't let it go. He is doing everything he can to keep this going and raise his profile in the news. What scares him the most isn't Obama's policies, it's the fact that he is a has-been. He's doing anything he can to try and breathe new life into his career. He wants Obama to fail – not because he hates Obama's policies, but because it would mean he was wrong. And to him that is simply not possible.

    Is he back on OxyContin?

A: Obama only warned the GOP not to listen to Limbaugh because he doesn't want them to start thinking in insane double standards (like how he preached we should all follow GWB lock-step because he's the president, then says he wants the new president to fail).

B: the only things that should be afraid of Rush Limbaugh are his drug-dealing housekeepers and random sandwiches.

President Obama's big effort to unite and to work with all is refreshing and probably the only way that will move us forward – even if I sometimes strongly disagree with some of the people he invites to the table. But if there is one man in this country that we certainly can do without it's the grossly oversized ego of Rush Limbaugh.

I haven't heard Rush Limbaugh's name in 8 years, I thought he died. Where was he when there were no WMD's? Rush is the mouth of a party that can not exist in today's climate. The only way he can is to wish that all of us as Americans fail. Where is his retirement? What is his home value?

Listen up Rush, America is tired of the same old politics and playing the blame game. Get behind the Repulican party and promote America and bring back the party that I left.

Or your small little radio talk show will loose even more ratings and listeners since you only give people the wishes of failing, loss of their entire savings, loss of their homes, loss of their job.

    Get a life!

    Joe

Limpbaugh is mistaking the fact that no one is paying attention to him for being "frightened" of him. He is a sad and pathetic example of a human.

I do think that Limbaugh has a problem with his ego... that is... he thinks too highly of himself... he couldn't change the 2008 election and is now grasping at anything he can to stay in what's left of the light he still has.

So, in an attempt to unite the parties to come together for the good of the American people and for once get something done in Congress, Obama says don't listen to Rush in and come together on issues to get resolution to them instead of fight each other tooth and nail which is basically what Rush teaches everyone in his show... republicans good, democrats bad... and yet Rush is the one claiming that OBAMA is going against his Unity claims? How exactly does that work Rush? In the world I live in, Obama is reaching out to everyone.. as a matter of fact the Liberals are more upset with him so far than the Conservatives are!

Mr. Limbaugh proves once again that he is only about ratings, and the money it puts in his pocket. As Americans in these difficult times we are all in this together. Mr. Limbaugh seems to be rowing in the opposite direction from everyone else. I wouldn't expect him to agree with all the new administration is trying to do, but this sort of school-yard taunt is juvenile and counter-productive.

Is this all the Republicans can offer America? This man who should be in prison along with all the people he downed for drug use, and has show that all he is is a druggie himself. Why don't Republicans "put him down", or is he the best they have to pit against the new president?

What's so appealing about Rush and Ann Coulter. They may say conservative things, but their lives are no model for anyone. How many wives does Rush have? Is Ann even in a relationship? Does being conservative mean living a moral or family oriented life? Obama is clearly a better parent, husband, and neighbor than any of these conservatives.
