Limbaugh: Obama is 'frightened of me'

[cnn-photo-caption image= http://i2.cdn.turner.com/cnn/2009/images/01/26/art.rush0126.gi.jpg caption=" Conservative radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh responded Monday to recent reported comments by President Obama."]
(CNN) - Radio host Rush Limbaugh said Monday that President Obama is “frightened of me.”

“He’s obviously more frightened of me than he is [Senate Minority Leader] Mitch McConnell,” Limbaugh told listeners. “He’s more frightened of me, then he is of say, [House Minority Leader] John Boehner, which doesn’t say much about our party.”

Limbaugh’s comments followed reports Obama warned GOP congressional leaders last week that they should stop listening to the conservative talker, who had said on air he wanted the new president to fail.

"Now this is the great unifier," he told listeners Monday. "This is the man who's going to unify everybody and usher in a new era of bipartisanship and love."

White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs gave reporters the administration's latest message to Limbaugh at Monday's press briefing: "Tell him I said, 'Hi,'" he joked.

Obama is so much better than anyone could hope for. The Republicans have a very long way to go to change their party's image, and it isn't going to happen when you have Republican leaders like Rush poisoning the airways. What a joke that anyone would be afraid of a joke like Rush. His ignorance only sends more toxic energy into our country, and it is so sad that people allow hiim to think for them. Thank God, we have some positive, hopeful leadership to inspire us into the action that is needed to start correcting the policies of Bush. The rest of the world may someday respect us again under Democratic leadership. Let's not get dragged down into the depths of negative behaviors that certain Republicans and Fox news would hope for. Their type of behavior will only serve to further divide the country and slow our need for change.

Limbaugh is nothing more thant an idealogue-for-profit who enjoys abusing his right to free speech as much as Fred Phelps and his ilk.

why would anybody, especially President Obama, be afraid of a big fat jerk like Limbaugh?? He is irrelevant, he just doesn't have enough sense to know it!

I think miss interpreted Rush's comments. He wants Obama to fail, because of the Liberal philosophies that he represents and is going to implement. I don't believe Rush wants the country to fail, but Liberalism.

Also to those choosing to poke at his former addiction to pain medicine why don't you lay off. People have faults and there isn't a group of people that is perfect, all groups will come with the good and the bad. I'm sure Rush is not proud of his former addiction, but he was able to recover which I'm sure was a personal triumph for him and everyone should support someone who is able to pull themselves out of the gutter to better themselves.

This is by no means to say that I agree with Rush and what he says on the radio, but I think everyone can afford to be decent to one another.

Why would Obama be afraid of Limbaugh? That's laughable. Obama has more important things to worry about than what some conservative talk show host has to blather on about. Maybe if Rush spent more time talking about some possible solutions and decide to actually work with his GOP family rather than telling them to do nothing, we might get something done in this country for once. But no, he'd rather be the big child, throwing out allegations and having temper tantrums. Whatever, I've already spent too much time thinking about it, and he's not worth it.

The comments by comedian Limbaugh demonstrates how desparate he is for attention. I remember him being exposed as an addict, you would think after that humbling experience he would have learned to be more modest and less judgemental...Oh, btw, President Obama isn't afraid of someone as foolish and dellusional as this jerk! And if the country was to fail people like Limbaugh will be to blame more than anyone else, they are the ones who haven't gotten the memo that America has changed for the better!

Limbaugh remarks are on the edge of treason. Wanting Obama to fail at this point in time is akin to wanting America to fail. I guess he would prefer another 8 years of Bush, then 8 years of Palin.

Pay attention to what Rush is saying you morons. He does not want the country to fail. He is a true patriot, unlike you pampered lefties out there. He wants Obama's Socialist policies, which will be bad for our country to fail. That is being a real American.

    Redneck woman and proud.

You wish Rush, Obama has about as much fear of you, as he would have of lint. Your all talk Rush and with all the talking that you do, you accomplish, nothing. You brag on your career over and over, but you need to ask yourself what have you carved out of it all that will help or contribute to society? If you know so much Rush, and can do so much, get your fat feet wet and run for something.

Hey, this is Limbaugh's schtick. He knows he's full of bull, but he gets lots of listeners this way. He's only doing it for the money, he needs people to talk about him and it's working again. While being a reprehensible jerk, he does know how to tweak his listeners and keep them coming back. You gotta give give him credit, though making your living through dispensing hate is not a way I'd choose to earn money.

It's a little funny that saying anything resembling what Limbaugh barks on his radio show would have been treason and 'unpatriotic' during the Bush presidency. Anyone remember the lynching of the Dixie Chiks?

And seriously, you can hate Obama all you want or disagree with his policies...but if the president fails, we ALL fail as a country. Offer up your suggestions and your ideas rather than shutting down every single idea that is not yours Limbaugh....otherwise STFU!
