Limbaugh: Obama is 'frightened of me'

[cnn-photo-caption image= http://i2.cdn.turner.com/cnn/2009/images/01/26/art.rush0126.gi.jpg caption=" Conservative radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh responded Monday to recent reported comments by President Obama."]
(CNN) - Radio host Rush Limbaugh said Monday that President Obama is “frightened of me.”

“He’s obviously more frightened of me than he is [Senate Minority Leader] Mitch McConnell,” Limbaugh told listeners. “He’s more frightened of me, then he is of say, [House Minority Leader] John Boehner, which doesn’t say much about our party.”

Limbaugh’s comments followed reports Obama warned GOP congressional leaders last week that they should stop listening to the conservative talker, who had said on air he wanted the new president to fail.

"Now this is the great unifier," he told listeners Monday. "This is the man who's going to unify everybody and usher in a new era of bipartisanship and love."

White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs gave reporters the administration's latest message to Limbaugh at Monday's press briefing: "Tell him I said, 'Hi,'" he joked.

Obama is secretely thanking Limbaugh – Limbaugh is the reason so many republicans jumped ship and voted Democratic.
And, the more Limbaugh spews the more support Obama gets.
    I think it's hysterical!
Keep on keeping on, Rush – there's another election on the way.

Limbaugh is a nut case. Does he really think he has that much influence. I just don't get it. I know, he is obviously making that coment to say the Republican Party has no more influence than he does with the President. Now that really is far reaching. But surely you took his comment "I hope the President fail out of context. No American in his right mind would wish something like that. If he fails, all americans fail.

Rush Limbaugh is a deluded publicity-seeker who is drunk on the praise from his own syncophant listeners. If Congressional Republicans are silly enough to follow his advice, they know that they will be seen as a partisan obstacle to Obama and they will be blamed by the public.

The Republicans know that they only tactic that they really have is a Senate fillibuster...which accomplishes nothing but delay. The public wants action now...not partisan gridlock.

It's people like Rush who spread hate in america which in turn spreads hate across the globe. we are coming together as a nation and as a world, and we need to stop hate and racism, so i think rush is the one who is actually scared. It starts by setting a better example in our own country, we don't need rush, lannity, or o'reilly, spreading the virus anymore, they can all disappear off into the sunset with bush and his administration.

Rush has zero credibility. Obama is too busy trying to fix the mess Bush left him to pay attention to Rush's immature grade school yard bully taunts. GET A CLUE RUSH. The nation has voted for Change instead of the politics of intollerance and division. In the new Obama Era who has time to listen to the rantings of an aging fat balding spitefull hatefull racist bigot of a hypocritical drug addict? The sooner people stop supporting his shows sponsors the sooner his moronic rants of hate will go off the air.

He did not say that he wanted the country to fail. He said that he wanted Obama's left wing policies to fail, there is a difference.

Do Republicans really intend to follow the advice of a man who openly states that he wants to see our new President fail? If Barack Obama fails, so does the country.

The only way people like Rush ever learn that they are finished is when the rest of us turn our backs on them. Even the most intellectually challenged individual will simply go away when ignored by everyone. Stop giving him a forum, stop paying attention, stop commenting on his antics.

I love the President response via his press secretary "tell him I said Hi". That shows real fear alright. It's about all the time ole Rush deserves, and that's just one brief second. SHUT UP RUSH!!!!!!!

Well, I suppose there is a place in this world for everyone (sigh). Limbaugh is a very small fish in a very large pond, who bottom feeds on those that get a rush from tabloid material such as his. Limbaugh is very excited because now after eight years, there is some new material to use in his broadcasts, which translates into more money for him. He will probably do himself in with too many foolish and stupid statements and die a broken old man who never figured it out.

How many of you liberals laughed at every mispeak and mistake Bush made? Sure seems like alot of you wished the best for him.
How many of you wanted to cut and run from Iraq and defund our military? How many wanted to call the heroes that protect us murderers and killers of babies?
Treason? I think more so than wishing for potential socialistic policies to fail. Bigger government is not better, you didn't like Bush expanding the government anymore than I did. Why the change of opinion?

CNN's version of what President Obama said is different enough from what he actually said that it's easy to misconstrue. What he said was that the GOP shouldn't just listen to Rush Limbaugh - NOT that they shouldn't listen to Rush but that they shouldn't listen to Rush to the exclusion of listening to anyone else.

Now that's a very different statement. And it is a statement suggesting that our elected officials should listen to more than one point of view.

It's unimaginable how this comment has managed to grow into the pissing contest that Rush Limbaugh is making it, and it may indeed backfire on ol' Rush. One can certainly hope.
