Limbaugh: Obama is 'frightened of me'

[cnn-photo-caption image= http://i2.cdn.turner.com/cnn/2009/images/01/26/art.rush0126.gi.jpg caption=" Conservative radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh responded Monday to recent reported comments by President Obama."]
(CNN) - Radio host Rush Limbaugh said Monday that President Obama is “frightened of me.”

“He’s obviously more frightened of me than he is [Senate Minority Leader] Mitch McConnell,” Limbaugh told listeners. “He’s more frightened of me, then he is of say, [House Minority Leader] John Boehner, which doesn’t say much about our party.”

Limbaugh’s comments followed reports Obama warned GOP congressional leaders last week that they should stop listening to the conservative talker, who had said on air he wanted the new president to fail.

"Now this is the great unifier," he told listeners Monday. "This is the man who's going to unify everybody and usher in a new era of bipartisanship and love."

White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs gave reporters the administration's latest message to Limbaugh at Monday's press briefing: "Tell him I said, 'Hi,'" he joked.

I think everyone in the United States should be frightened of this man. He and his off the wall beliefs are downright scary. For anyone to hope for the President to fail is despicable and beneath contempt. It is also frightening that so many people worship the ground Limbaugh stands on. Those who complain that Obama supporters blindly follow the President should know, they blindly follow the likes of Limbaugh and Hannity. Give me President Obama anytime, the comparison isn't even close.

Rush sounds like the big fat schoolyard bully he is. The smart guy who avoids him wins in the end.

Somebody has a big ego here......maybe that's it! Rush's ego is so big and so full of hot air that it threatens the country.

YES, FEAR THAT MAN'S EGO. It could kill us all!

There are only two things that are afraid of Rush, drugs and food, we all know how much he likes to consume those.

Rush – what have you done to unite this country? I read about your comments slamming Obama, making a mockery of everything but your own selfish agenda, but yet, you have not given any reason why we should care. You slam someone who has brought this nation together, when all you focus on is tearing others down. You say he doesn't unify; your negativity probably unifies you with everyone who has ever tried to bring someone down. That doesn't make you a good person, it just makes you pathetic. You're a very sad individual.

Man. Limbaugh is probably happy that there's a Dem in office... His ratings should go through the roof!

Of course he's frightened of you, we all are. We're all frightened that someone may listen to you. You are the worst of the media. You spew so much hate and ignorence it is scary. Why any network gives you airtime is a mystery.

There is no room for anger and hate if we are to move forward as a country. I hope Rush loses his influence as people realize his angry words only harm this nation.

Will he please just go away. He has not had anything of value to say since his first book. I'm not on either side, but he is just noise.

Narcissism is such an ugly thing when it's left to go out of control. The most powerful man in the free world is afraid of an overweight, over-bearing prescription-drug addled hate-monger. Right.

Limbaugh's and idiot, especially if he thinks Obama id frightened of him. Obama was just pointing out to the Republicans that if they follow the fat boys lead, there will be even less of them in congress in 2010.

It sounds to me like President Obama is looking out for the Republicans best interests. After all, what person is going to tell someone to go listen to someone who spouts lies and hate?

You got that wrong, Rush. You're the one who should be afraid of a man who blows up every bigoted stereotype you try to throw at him. But then, your outsized ego won't be satisfied unless you think someone is afraid of you. Too bad you don't realize how much you don't matter.

Who is Limbaugh?! No one is afraid of Limbaugh stupid, ignorant, and hateful self. Obama probably thinks that Limbaugh isn't even worth commenting on. Limbaugh and those who listen to him are hate-filled, unintelligent, and ugly individuals. He is the reason why I am no longer a Republican.

He's also apparently more afraid of Rush than he is of terrorists at Gitmo. He also seems to think waterboarding is a sin which cries out to God, but has no problem with torturing a late-term or even full-term fetus by partial-birth abortion. Change we can grieve in.

I cannot imagine anyone that President Obama would be LESS afraid of than Rush Limbaugh! Rush truly has a false sense of identity. His comment is laughable.

Hold on. When Democrats criticized Bush and his war policies, Conservatives accused Democrats of wanting to fail in Iraq just to prove our point. This was un-American, they said. Now...Limbaugh says he wants our president to fail. So...it's suddenly okay to want the United States government to fail? This is just the first in what I suspect will be four solid years of hypocrisy from the Right.
