Dems launch anti-Limbaugh petition

(CNN) - In a bid to capitalize on Rush Limbaugh's recent comment that he hopes President Obama "fails," national Democrats launched a petition drive Wednesday taking direct aim at the conservative radio host.
"Jobs, health care, our place in the world - the stakes for our nation are high and every American needs President Obama to succeed," says the petition, sponsored by the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. "Stand strong against Rush Limbaugh's Attacks - sign our petition, telling Rush what you think of his attacks on President Obama."
Limbaugh told listeners last week he sharply disagrees with Republicans who have said they hope Obama succeeds as president, and particularly expressed frustration over what he viewed as the "absorption of as much of the private sector by the US government as possible, from the banking business, to the mortgage industry, the automobile business, to health care."
"If I wanted Obama to succeed, I'd be happy the Republicans have laid down," Limbaugh said. "I hope he fails."
The comment sparked outrage in Democratic circles, while defenders of the remark said it was made purely in the context of Obama's economic polices.
Still, the DCCC petition not only provides an outlet for Democratic anger at Limbaugh, but also serves as a vehicle to gain names and e-mail addresses, presumably for later use in fundraising and organizing efforts.
The petition follows reports Obama warned GOP congressional leaders last week that they should stop listening to the conservative talker, prompting Limbaugh’s response that the new president is "frightened of me."
“He’s obviously more frightened of me than he is [Senate Minority Leader] Mitch McConnell,” Limbaugh told listeners Monday. “He’s more frightened of me, then he is of say, [House Minority Leader] John Boehner, which doesn’t say much about our party.”

Who cares what he thinks. He has a right to say whatever he wants. Focusing on him and wasting time on him only plays into more of the same party crap. Call it a petition if you want but it is nothing more than a fight in sheeps clothing. What Obama really wants from the American people is to sweep your own side of the street, like the pilot that landed the US Air jet on the water. The President said put away childish games.

There are more people who hate him than love him so stop giving him this attention he doesn't even deserve a single thought in our head. Don't make President Obama have to deal with this its nice and am sure you will get many signatures but it won't take him off the air or do anything productive.
It would be better if we just looked up whoever advertises on his show and stop patronizing their businesses. Or STOP listening to stations that carry him. Once his Arbitron book starts to fall, they'll dump him. If you want to stop Rush, hit him where it hurts. They can't pay him $30 million a year if he has no advertisers.

Rush is right!!!!!!!!! I want him to fail also relative to abortion, gay marriage, stimulus(welfare) plan, guns etc. Anything that is NOT conservative should fail.

if OBAMA is warning the GOP congressional leaders not to listen to Rush, what the heck is this world coming to? i will listen to whomever i want to listen to, and make my own decisions on what i choose to beleive in...OBAMA warning me? what is this ray bradburry and the burning of the books? I did not vote for OBAMA, but whomever i became our president i would support...but this is insane...why would he tell us who we can listen to and who we cant? no one is stopping the democrats from getting their own talk show host, and voicing their opinions...its just no one wants to listen to the opinions that come out of their mouths....what happened to the first ammendment here? FREEDOM OF SPEECH...bush didnt run around trying to police all the ingrates that were bashing him? I think this idolization is going to come to a screaching hault and when someone doesnt have money in their pocket to support themselves, they wont care who is in the seat of presidency....russell crow had it right on jay leno way back when...instead of giving the monies to the banks and govt people to pad their pockets, give a million dollars to everyone and then we would spend it in the economy buying the goods of the us and stimulate the economy that way!
