Dems launch anti-Limbaugh petition

(CNN) - In a bid to capitalize on Rush Limbaugh's recent comment that he hopes President Obama "fails," national Democrats launched a petition drive Wednesday taking direct aim at the conservative radio host.
"Jobs, health care, our place in the world - the stakes for our nation are high and every American needs President Obama to succeed," says the petition, sponsored by the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. "Stand strong against Rush Limbaugh's Attacks - sign our petition, telling Rush what you think of his attacks on President Obama."
Limbaugh told listeners last week he sharply disagrees with Republicans who have said they hope Obama succeeds as president, and particularly expressed frustration over what he viewed as the "absorption of as much of the private sector by the US government as possible, from the banking business, to the mortgage industry, the automobile business, to health care."
"If I wanted Obama to succeed, I'd be happy the Republicans have laid down," Limbaugh said. "I hope he fails."
The comment sparked outrage in Democratic circles, while defenders of the remark said it was made purely in the context of Obama's economic polices.
Still, the DCCC petition not only provides an outlet for Democratic anger at Limbaugh, but also serves as a vehicle to gain names and e-mail addresses, presumably for later use in fundraising and organizing efforts.
The petition follows reports Obama warned GOP congressional leaders last week that they should stop listening to the conservative talker, prompting Limbaugh’s response that the new president is "frightened of me."
“He’s obviously more frightened of me than he is [Senate Minority Leader] Mitch McConnell,” Limbaugh told listeners Monday. “He’s more frightened of me, then he is of say, [House Minority Leader] John Boehner, which doesn’t say much about our party.”
The more outrageous the remarks made by this fatuous windbag, the more free publicity he gets. He must be giggling up a storm over all the hoopla he's caused with yet another stupid remark.
Limbaugh is irrelevant. Ignore him. He won't go away, but at least we won't be giving him free publicity. Let him sink into obscurity, where he belongs.

I don't why any sensible person would wanna listen to him...doesn't make sense to me he's complaining about president Obama's economic policies, when his president got us trillion in debt, he didn't wish for former pres. Bush to fail with the foolish policies he prescribed for our nation, but yet he wants our current pres. to fail.

Rush Limbaugh is the new McCarthy, or Goebbels for that matter. I think most Americans and politicians are past the point of taking him lightly, seeing him as simply a bombastic radio host. He is the worst type of propagandist. He is a liar and a sower of discord. McCarthy & Goebbels thoroughly damaged their countries. What's alarming is that so many people bought into their garbage, and buy into Limbaugh's. He is a dangerous man. But for you Conservatives who take some pride in that, i.e., that his is a danger to Liberals, you better think twice. As did McCarthy & Goebbels, Rush will take his followers down too. In many ways, he already has. It's his brand of Conservatism that has reigned these last eight years.
I'll sign this petition in a second. This man is an extreme menace to the security of the United States. His speech is seditious as well as slanderous at times. I'm not one to endorse physical harm to someone , but in Limbaughs case a punch to face would be very satisfying.

I'll sign that petition, so long as it asks for Rush to have his tongue to be sliced in half. That way he will have the tongue like the snake that he is. I'd hope that Rush would fail, but he already has as a human being, drug addict, and as a spokesperson for the republican party.

The only thing anybody has to be "frightened" of Rush Limbaugh over is that so many people continue to listen to him, especially after he's been nailed for the same drug offenses he would crucify others for.
That tells me there are plenty of people who think double standards are just fine, as long as they're not the ones being judged.
That he would hope for our newly elected president to fail, especially during such a horrendous economic time (brought on by his own republican president) shows that he truly is 100% without ethics of any type. He's a very sore loser.
