Palin lying low during Washington trip

Alaska Governor Sarah Palin speaks at the meeting of the National Governor's Association in December.

Alaska Governor Sarah Palin speaks at the meeting of the National Governor's Association in December.

WASHINGTON (CNN) - Sarah Palin has firmly remained in the media spotlight since her bid for the vice presidency ended four months ago, but the Alaska governor embraced a decidedly lower profile when she traveled to the nation's capital this weekend.

The former Republican vice presidential candidate has scheduled a busy itinerary of closed-door events and face time with congressional Democrats and Republicans.

She also announced earlier this week she's making the 4,500-mile trek from Alaska to Washington primarily to attend the Alfalfa Club Dinner Saturday night - an annual closed-door roast of the nation's political elite.

But it's what's missing from Palin's schedule that is causing more than a few heads to turn. In a city that is ground-zero for national political journalists, Palin has not scheduled a single media interview or indicated she will hold a press conference.

Oh, let's leave Palin alone. At least she has a little time to repair her reputation away from the constant spotlight. Meanwhile, we have to deal with the Bidens' slips of the tongue – infamous in themselves.

My family watched Gov. Sarah Palin's address of States of AK thou C-SPAN on Jan. 27, 2009. Her very detailed plan to increase of revenue thou energy independent in AK as well as a nation has highly amazed and gives us sort of hope. So far, Obama economic team has reported that how we'll spend one trillion dollars which send $360,000,000 for help of ABORTION which is murder to some countries in Africa and already wasted $150,000,000 for 3 hour the Inauguration as well as Obama will help ACORN which has under investigated by FBI with VOTER-fraud a huge money etc. American, however, have not figured out yet how Obama will increase Federal revenue from energy independent or the others sources. The both ways to spend funds or to increase revenue are available to increase jobs. However, the way to create jobs with spending a huge money that Obama has processed would be temporary ended. The way to create a lot of jobs with raising of revenue through energy independents; natural gas, drilling shores, clean coal, solar, winds that Sarah has implemented is more incessant and secure for Americans. That's why my family fully support Sarah Palin and Sarahpac.com. GO SARAH 2012/2016

What is wrong with you people...Palin has done nothing to anyone in this blog. She legally ran in the election... she showed her proof of birth and her college transcripts ....anyone one of us can do that....the election is over with....let's think like taxpayers...and make sure this Pelosi Pork Package gets cleaned up. It looks like the House of Representatives didn't even read it.

Some people actually do things in their lives unlike the rest of us who waste time and energy blogging, texting, twittering and facebook.
What's wrong with this picture...and I include myself in it.

  7. The Truth

If she wants to be the next presidential nominee all she has to do is lie, cheat, steal, stop paying her taxes and switch to the democrat party....that seems to be the ticket for success in the democrat party.

maybe the Gov has been reading posts like this and finding out what a lot of people really think about her and it always seems, except on Fox, that there are more Palin "haters" than supporters.

Can't really blame her. The press is less than fair to her, in fact, goes overboard to critize every aspect of everything she says and does. She is older and wiser now.

It's okay to meet with media in Alaska. She picks the reporter and even then can barely answer the questions. I cringe every time I read an interview she has given.

She won't meet with the D.C. media simply because she couldn't handle their questions. They'd demand answers not "Palinese speak". She couldn't handle Couric so I"m not surprised at all that she isn't answering any reporter's questions in D.C. Enjoy the meal Gov. Palin. (I wonder how much this dinner will cost the taxpayers of Alaska?)

Did someone let this Idiot out of Alaska again? I say God Bless Palin for keeping her stupid trap shut. This Idiot should only be seen and never heard.

Please, please Sarah, run for President in 2012. I and many other independents want to see how well you do against Hucklebee, Romney and all the other Reps who will run against you. You could barely handle old Joe Biden (who by the way, is younger than fossil McCain); Biden treated you with kid gloves and let you get away with winking, flirting and refusing to answer questions. Do you think that Hucklebee, Romney and all the other Rep candidates will do the same? They will tear you to pieces.

What I really want to see is a debate between you and Hillary Clinton. Hillary will wipe the floor with you. So please, please Sarah, run in 2012. I and my colleagues will reserve a front row seat. BTW, I am a woman and an attorney. I would love to have a woman as President, but you are not that woman.

"Palin is traveling to Washington to lobby senators to approve certain infrastructure projects for Alaska in the economic stimulus package."

Seriously?! What happened to fighting pork? What happened to being a maverick and rallying against earmarks? Oh yeah, it's Sarah Palin. She literally doesn't know the meaning of the word "hypocrite."

Bill, can you prove anything you just spewed or are you just full of BS? I would say BS. So typical of you Libs. By the way, for all you Libs that spewed all over about Palin's daughter's mother-in-law, what do you think about Obama's brother getting arrested for drug trafficing? Hypocrites!

Albert: Typical Palin supporter. "...the epidemy of idiocy"? Before you go calling people idiots, learn how to spell. It's epitome, as in, your comment is the epitome of the idiocy. It epitomizes the mindset and thought processes of people who think Sarah Palin actually has something to offer American political culture besides being just the epitome of political idiocy.
