Obama to name economic recovery advisory team Friday
WASHINGTON (CNN) - President Obama will name the members of his Economic Recovery Advisory Board and lay out its mandate at a White House event tomorrow, the White House confirmed Thursday.
Obama will appear with Paul Volcker, who is heading the new group. That panel is tasked with assisting the president as he looks to reduce unemployment and stabilize the markets.

This is an excellent opportunity to stimulate the economy for me and my wife. We would be happy to serve on this team for GS-9/11 pay, providing we could do it from home and not have to go to Washington DC.
Has Obama checked to see if THEY paid their taxes – or does that not matter in any of his appointments???

Get Michelle on the phone. Tell her to call Barak on his Blackberry. Tell him to ask for tax returns before he announces his team. Ask personal questions. Get answers. Dont announce the team until completed.

Pres. Obama,
Please tell me that on this team you will have an "Average American" or two. Someone that has never made more than $50,000 per year; someone that has been downsized by corporate America; someone that is looking for the longterm security of our country; someone that has paid their taxes; someone that is currently in school, because it is different now than it was when you or members of Congress went. If you called on me, I would be happy to be of service as I fit all of the above criteria.
I am not saying this to be a pain but alot of us are feeling the lack of "insight" that our elected officials have. They make over 3 times what I have made in the best year that I have earned as a worker. We get downsized and they give themselves raises, but hey, some people keep elected them thinking that the same thing will have different results.
I have been a supporter since the primaries and I will continue to support you as my President, but please ask us average americans to be on your panels and not just through your house events but an actual seat at the table.

Even a caveman understand that the so called 'bail-out','stimulus', 'rescue-plan', or any other pet-name can be called is just a waste of time.
The ONLY thing this move does is to PERPETUATE THE ECONOMICAL MESS THAT THE ALMOST-TOTALLY DEMOCRAT CONGRESS STARTED WITH FANNIE, FREDIE AND ALL THE CROOKS AND THIEVES INVOLVED , BACKED-UP BY THE 'COVER-UP GROUP – PELOSI,REID,FRANK, DOOD,COX , and others weeds !!!

And what happens is that Pres Obama and his gang – KNOWING WHAT IS THE TRUTH AND KNOWING THAT THEY ARE NATIONALIZING THE COUNTRY AND THROWING THE NATION TO THE SOCIALISM-MARXIST ARENA, …they do not want to be blame alone after the public DISCOVERS that they had been CHEATED by the present administration,…they do not want to GO DOWN ALONE,…they need to say that also republicans are to be blamed too,…and that is why they are desperately trying to convince atl least some of them.

One more thing, the economy is not as bad as it is said,...when Reagan became president the situation was heavely even worst, and the answer was basically, TAX CUTS !
This thing of :- "...the economy is this or that ..., we are going tobe real bad,,,etc" is a desperate move to inflict FEAR into the minds of the ignorant populache ( the ones that do not get informed) and so they will accept ABSOLUTELY ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING THAT IS TRHOW AT THEM AS AN ANSWER,...they just eat it that way blindly !
Just remember when all this picture of 'bad economy ' started they said the 'BLACK-HOLE -TYPE-COLLAPSE 'WAS ABOUT TO HAPPEN IN FEW DAYS! And now we are in 2009 and they still chanting this FEAR-MANTRA ! ? Oh!, give me a brake !,...America, wake -up !, WAKE-UP NOW !

please include some authentic experts, like economists with credits. politicians are working to shrink our stimulus plan when economist from left to right confirmed it should be bigger... if not now, when do we need our government spending most? wise investment doesn't turn into debts. it's true we can no longer tolerate clueless leader after seeing it for 8 years.

My feeling is that the Republican party will go to any length to make things difficult for Obama and the Democratic party.
After the dismal mess the Republicans made during the past eight years I would have thought they would not have the audacity to tell people how to run the country.

Remember Its us common people that are the demand in our economy. The wealthy elite have proven themselves to be both ignorant and worthless and do nothing but cry for tax cuts, government welfare and more deregulation. Its also a good time to start creating jobs by bringing the millions that have been outsourced back home. Sound impossible? Yes we can!

That would be interesting if President Obama got the gutso and called on 'Oregoncalling'. I agree it wouldn't hurt to have an 'average persons' voice in the group...it may even be benifical.
