Obama reaches out to voters on stimulus

[cnn-photo-caption image=http://i2.cdn.turner.com/cnn/2009/images/02/07/obama3.jpg caption="Barack Obama is encouraging his voters to support his economic stimulus plan."]

(CNN) - In a video message e-mailed Saturday, President Obama calls on those who voted for him in the presidential election to throw their support behind his economic stimulus plan.

“If you haven’t been affected by this crisis, you’ve likely comforted somebody who has,” Obama says before making his case for the stimulus package making its way through Senate.

Obama says his package will create or save more than 3 million jobs, “many in your own communities,” and insists his plan is one that “America so desperately needs.”

“I know some critics are worried about the scale of this plan but if we fail to pass it promptly, our economy will fall $1 trillion short of what it’s capable of producing this year. In order to make up that difference, economists agree we must act boldly.”

Obama vows to “enlist all of you” to oversee the plan.

“As soon as this plan is signed into law, recovery.gov goes live, and you’ll be able to see precisely where your tax dollars are going, because this is your democracy, and as I said throughout the campaign, change never begins from the top down. It begins from the bottom up,” he says.

The president’s personal message comes as polls show that the public’s support for the stimulus has slipped.

Well guys get it from top, you got to get it now !, by all black-holes in the cosmos !

    What if ?

Could it be possible that all this thing is just part of a MASTER PLAN to throw America into socialism-marxism,…and eventually into communism?

Could it be possible that Obama (although the tittle is of as ‘president’) is just but a ‘front’ in all of this? That he is let’s say like a ‘TROJAN HORSE FACTOR’ to open the doors to this ‘MASTER PLAN’?

Perhaps the true integrants of the MASTER PLAN MACHINE, they need to be identified and stop in time, before go any further.Perhaps out there there are a solid and hidden group ENEMIES OF THE STATE, that want America ‘CHANGED’ to what is not our way of life.

Hummmm Putin in Russia seems to be coming back with ideas of grandeour to re-stablish the old order,…they are already in our very own backyard here in the caribean area teaming-up with Hugo Chavez in Venezuela, correct?

Is this sounds science fiction to you?,….too speculative?
I bet is a very scary scenario,…chilly,… a real bloody hell, isn’t it?

Well,at times, it seems to me that way and I do hope this is not the hidden reality,…because if by any chance is just as I described?….oh! Great Scott ! , God help us !
Let’s be very observant, and alert. Let’s get information and knowledge for the real power is indeed, that – KNOWLEDGE !

As a corolary this could be well applied

Honesty, decency, morality ;- those words are said to be lack in the spirit of the conservatives agenda. That is curious because right now the present administration is loaded with individuals of questionable integrity and honesty, not to mention lack of knowledge to look after our interest and neither after our security as a nation.

We have to be clear on this, people.

Among patriots, true ones, we have to admit (for is obvious) that is in the republican spectrum where we can find those who are fighting for what we are ,… for the values and positives things that characterize this great nation as the stronghold for justice and freedom on this planet.

Did anyone noticed how the deterioration of our ways are fading away every day with the avid efforts from the democrats? Think about this for I am not going to go into details this time. Sufice is to say that EVERYONE MUST WATCH THE MOVES OF THIS PRESENT ADMINISTRATION VERY VERY CAREFULY FOR IS REASONABLE TO BELIEVE THAT THERE ARE ‘ENEMIES OF THE STATE’ INTERESTED TO DESTROY OUR COUNTRY,…” AS SOON AS POSIBLE, WITH FIRM AND SWIFT MOVES…”

So, be alert, get informed, analyze,..do not fall behind,

By the way people you need to wise up both republicans and democrats listen to special interests. Every union is a special ingterest, it is their job to do everything they can to help the people within the union. Just because a group agrees with you doesn't mean they are not a special interest.

Most of the jobs created in this plan will be government jobs which means the taxpayer will be funding these salaries. For all of you conservatives out there make sure you vote for anybody but Spector, Collins, and Snowe in their re-elections. Anybody hungry for ham and prokchops with this spending bill.

I can't begin to understand all the naysaying in here. My wages are frozen this year. Other people are being laid off. We've lost more than a million jobs and unemployment is the highest it's been since Bush the Elder was in office. The people hooting about President Obama and complaining about the past two years of a do-nothing Democratic Congress are ignoring the fact that it wasn't a veto-proof majority, and Dubya line-item gutted all major legislation and did anything he wanted anyway. You're right they should've done more. They should've impeached him. And for those who are so fake-"concerned," the bill is online for review (Google "stimulus bill" and click around). I can't emphasize this enough: Educate yourself. Please. Thank you.

Man, what has America come to?
I read some of the post here . . . apparently, most of you seem to be unaware that-IN 2005, OVER 5 MILLION JOBS WERE OUT-SOURCED!

The HELL with all you racists. You would rather see this country fail than to see President Obama succeed.

Bush has been out of office less than three weeks and you have forgotten that it was him that got us in this mess but he is White so
I guess it's okay for a White President to destroy this country but a Black President is trying to clean up his mess and all he get are your vile and sick comments. All of you make me want to vomit.

I find it ironic that the Dems choose to cut out education rather than their pet project used to secure their votes. It is politics in motion, cut out education and blame it on the GOP. Eat it up sheep the BO is playing Chicago politics, he has a lot of folks to payback. Do we really need to cut education when this bill is STILL full of pork projects, I am sure they left in the dog park in Chula Vista.

You Repugs are rediculous. None of what's gone wrong so far has anything to do with the current administration and everything to do with the mess the Republicans and the Bush White House made of our country the last 8 (really 28) years. If you can't give a man and a new congress more then 3 weeks to try to correct the damage then you are probably incapable of patients at all and do/think whatever your republican "Handler" tells you. Stop thinking you know so much. We have a lot of work ahead of us and this is just the first step in a much longer march to finding the equilibrium of our country. Besides if you voted for Bush twice you should just shut the #@%$ up.

He should donate his left over campaign money to the people. I would love to have a little, since my husband lost his job in August 2008. We have the right to judge and see what we are paying for before it is a law. He is the wrong person for this job. God help us!

Obama should take the gloves off with the Republicans. They ran the country into the ground during the Bush years. Their brand of divisionist politics and bankrupt ideas were rejected by the voters last fall. They have no right to prolong the misery they created by obstructing the stimulus plan. We've heard the same tired ideas from Republican conservatives since Reagan was sworn in. It's just a broken record. Enough.

I wonder how much could be saved if our Congressmen would stop lining their own pockets or abusing the system on their own behalf? Why are they not paying into the Social Security System or Midicare... Why do they get raises during these troubled times?

The Republicans have got some nerve!
They marched in lockstep with Bush and never once questioned his disastrous spending because the rich benefited from it. Now Obama wants to create jobs and they are nickle-and-dimeing us.

They are tearning apart the stimulus bill because Obama made the mistake and tried to include them in the decision making process. Then they turned around and lied, saying that he wouldn't talk with them. These people are evil.

They want to give tax breaks to the rich. I can't wait for the next elections..we'll vote them out and get a filibuster proof house and Senate.

Here we go again your right and I am wrong. No wait I am wrong and you are right. Now we have made cuts in this things and we have forgot the TARP and the 350 billion in waste.

One Month ago I filed a suit here in Indiana just me the little old nurse see Lucas V Congress and I point out then we had spent 10.61 for stock from Citi Bank that was on the market for 3.16, now the fed says we spent to much. Now for homes we are going use 1billion for the homes and the rest is a crap shot.

People quit fighting each other put away the party crap and understand our kids and the future of our country is in our hands and at the end of the day it is we the people.

Please take note if we do not stop taken it out on each other we will fail faster. Those in power from both parties have brought us to this point. One thing that has not changed from 1929 has been the R/D's and we have not taken back control of our country so who do we blame?

Paulson has been shelling out money to Wall Street even before the last 'bailout' and every card carrying member of the exreme right think its okay to give the rich more.
Help the man at the bottom who is NOT responsible for the mess the companies are in and its socialism and 'spending".
I guess since companies can just move their operations to other countries, they really dont need the American worker or care how well the average American fare in this recession.

    February 7, 2009 10:41 pm at 10:41 pm |

I can gurantee that Obama package will never create or save more than 3 million jobs. You know why only under 3 of 800 Billions will be spent for infrastructure that can creat jobs and wealthy, too. The stimulus bill should not be for government, but for economic to save
    jobs. FIX & REDUCE IT.

The Republicans will pay big time for their evil behavoior. To cut any thing from education is a sin. Knowlege is power that why China and other country are so much smarter then our country. The choice to invest more in education why the American Repilicans invests more in tax cuts for all their cronies that out source our job to all the forgein country. Republicans are such loster.

Oh and to you Republicans, that keep bringing up the new cars for the government. Think for a second:

-Some one has to actually make those cars.
-Their are going to be hybrid or alternative fuel cars.
-This will be a catalyst for big businesses to do the same.
-They will pollute less and there for lower our countries carbon footprint (which is enormous).
-It could very well help save the auto industry in our country and give them the incentive to start emphasizing better gas mileage technology.

    I could go on.
If you would just think instead of listening to Rush or one of you completely self interested Congressmen, then maybe you could really understand what most of this is for. It's not as simple as you'd like to think.
Sit back and let the other half of OUR country drive for awhile. Clearly you republicans collective ideas have been proven outdated and uninformed these last 8(or 28)years. All you seem to be good at is blaming others.

And once again, if you voted for Bush twice you should just shut the #@%$ up.

I think it is time for the Republicans to give it up. When I listen to the debate that is taking place on the senate floor it reminds me of the RNC convention. The day that Guliani made fun of community organizers, as if it were a bad thing. Now all I hear is that because this amendment or that amendment won't create the maximum amount of jobs that we shouldn't even try. Green cars for the govenment, laughable. Money for education, laughable. Taxes cuts, not enough. I am blessed to still have a job and a small nest egg but I know well educated people who are not so lucky. As the republicans cut food stamps and eliminate cobra amendments I hope that the American people's memories remain long for the 2010 election. Maybe if their numbers shrink further or some of them find themselves without a job then they will know that these are needed proposals for a country that is about to have a pretty serious unemployement rate. I believe that President Obama has the interest of the many at heart unlike GWB who only seemed to look out for the few. I stand with the President on this one.

Hey...all of you anti-stimulus package folks. Where were you when Bush was spending BILLIONS in Iraq? Say anything then? Sure was to the advantage of his buddies and cronies. It's about time we start spending billions to put our own country back on track.
