Palin won't be making CPAC appearance

[cnn-photo-caption image= http://i2.cdn.turner.com/cnn/2009/images/02/10/art.palin1.gi.jpg caption="Palin will not be attending this year’s CPAC, confirm organizers."](CNN) - Sarah Palin will not be attending the Conservative Political Action Conference in Washington later this month, her office confirmed to CNN Tuesday.

The Alaska governor had been expected to serve as the headline attraction at the three day event, which is also scheduled to include conservative icons like Newt Gingrich, Rush Limbaugh, and Ann Coulter. The presidential straw poll conducted at the annual Washington gathering is widely viewed as a reliable bellwether of conservative support. Several of the GOP’s past - and potentially future - presidential hopefuls are also slated to address the gathering, including Mike Huckabee, Mitt Romney and Ron Paul.

Palin spokesman Bill McAllister did not give a reason for the governor's decision, but did agree with one organizer's explanation that it would be difficult for the governor to visit in the middle of the state’s legislative session.

The former Republican vice presidential candidate, who recently launched SarahPAC to assist conservative candidates and cultivate a national network of supporters, visited Washington late last month to attend the exclusive Alfalfa Club dinner and several private events.

Fair opinion for Sarah Palin form DEM:

I used to think Sarah Palin was dumb. But after her debating the skillful debator Joe B., I CHANGED MY MIND about her immediately. I thought she learnt so quick and so brilliant. Too sad the MSM trashed her (yet she was so gracious.)

I am not sure about her political future, but I do think she will accomplish a lot if given a chance. She has experience in governing. BTW, she is good at campaigning too. I like see her in the campaign trail. I never pay attention to any REP. candidate. I changed when Sarah Palin was on the stage.

I will not vote for HIM AGAIN, that's for sure.

She is not going because she will get lost among those who are going. The novelty is wearing off and her appeal is among that narrow band of Republicans that are based in the South and rural areas. As a national candidate she has no broad appeal. Too bad, because she belongs next to Newt Gingrich, Rush Limbaugh, and Ann Coulter, except that they have the conservative rap down pat, and she does not.

We are doomed...just listen to yourselves (Palin haters)...and she never did anything to anyone of you. And you wonder why we will never come together. And by the way...I would love to have given her a chance to be VP...just as I have no problem with O'bama being President with no experience and Joe Biden...(a tongue and cheek kind of guy) being VP.

May God give all the red state morons all that they wish on everyone else. I think that will make the world a better place. God knows what horrible things they come up with.
They would rather nation build Iraq than build American. 3 Trillion in nation building Iraq and the stimulus is too big, talk about anti American, buy American to rebuild the roads no way the red morons like free trade. How did they hijack patriotism??? They are the real un- Americans and retarded to boot.

The less we hear about Sarah the better. She's just another neocon, except she's also a few cups short of a tea set. Look where this ideology, without regard to reality, has gotten us; and they want to dig us in deeper! Go away, and read each others' books, and leave real Americans alone.

    Professional liberal blogger alert!
If the name "Palin" is in the article, they're here and ready to collect their check (part of the stimulus bill).

Cheryl, you make a contradiction. You state we need to discuss facts, not hurtful words. You try to play the 'shame on you' card by saying she is a Daughter, Wife, Mother, etc.....

But truthful words are: She is a bad wife, a bad mother, a bad elected official (abuse of power) and a bad person (racist, she looks good in the white hood though). She's anti american as is her husband and his 'let's leave america' group affiliation.

Sorry if the truth hurts, but unfortunately, when we talk the truth about Palin, only hurtful words apply, but not in the spirit of being hurtful, simply facts.

I have to laugh at whomever said Alaska isn't in the red. They are off budget by billions and have to dive into their savings. That is because the budget was based on Sarah's wrong numbers......

Gov. Palin is neither moral or intelligent. She displays her Christian values when it suits her. Let us remember her hate filled speeches, "pallin around with terrorists" and now is lining up, like the other 49 Govenor's wanting part of the stimulus package. It's now suddenly ok to approach President Obama! She is a hypocrite!
This country does not need the likes of Sarah Palin, Ann Coulter, Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, etc. etc. etc. – divisive and hateful.
We need a bi-partisianship effort to solve the problems and until everyone agrees that the issues are bigger than their egos, we will continue the down hill slide. Wake up America!
