McCain blacklists The View?

The view co-hosts grilled McCain in September.

The view co-hosts grilled McCain in September.

(CNN) - Sen. John McCain just may have blacklisted the hit talk-show The View after a heated, somewhat confrontational, appearance on the program last September.

According to Barbara Walters, the show's creator and co-host, McCain told her at a recent Washington event he won't be appearing on the daily gabfest "any time soon."

"He had been on The View and was not very happy," Walters told a gathering at Syracuse University, according to Portfolio.com. "And when we walked out and I saw him I said, 'Senator, so nice to see you. I hope you'll come on The View again.' And he looked at me and said, 'Not anytime soon.'”

Appearing on the program at the height of his campaign for the White House, McCain was aggressively pressed on Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin's qualifications to be vice president, as well as negative campaign ads that several independent fact-checks had called downright misleading.

Walters specifically challenged Palin's reformist credentials, noting McCain has served in Washington for more than two decades and asking repeatedly, "Who's she going to reform, you?"

The Arizona senator is not the only member of the family who may have sour feelings toward the show. McCain's wife Cindy, after a contentious fall appearance of her own, declared that the co-hosts "picked our bones clean."

I am no Republican but the View is a JOKE!!!! Fish wives harping over their day's catch.... Elizabeth with her radical views on Christianity, Sherry with her over active libido and Barbie with her endless self promotion. Only sub humans can watch that aweful show! No one in their right mind should be a guest there – not Republicans, not Democrats or even Hollywood personalities.

That interview on The View was one of the few times the "press" actually did its job during the whole presidential campaign. If he got his undies in a bunch over it, too bad.

Who cares about The View? They are a bunch of cackling hens! Does anyone openly and notoriously admit that they even watch these morons?

Cry Baby Cry. That is all John McCain and his Pill Popping wife know to do. I just hope the people of Arizona have enough sense to vote him out in 2012. I am sick of hearing him cry.

Well, you pick an airhead who looks good on T'V for your VP and you think you might win a national election? If W had picked her, maybe he would be elected for the first time.

I never thought I'd say this, but I agree with McCain on this one. The view cohosts, especially Barbara Walters, treated him VERY badly on the show. It was pitiful. Good for McCain on calling them out.

Seems right wingers have no memory...or even any ideas.

Our financial situation is horrible. Few of us are happy with what is happening. But all you guys do is complain.

How about some ideas? Let the "market" decide and let them all go bankrupt? Great, then what do you do with the millions who lose their jobs, houses, etc.? Just collateral damage??

    Pathetic whiners.

I'm so thankful we have a thoughtful, even-tempered, diplomatic man as our President. It really makes a difference.

I would agree with McCain on this one. These women need get a life, they are a complete disgrace to women everywhere! A bunch of losers without brains (or looks). I wonder if they can cook or do anything else of value?

    Get a life, John.

Haven't you learned anything from your times with Palin? You sure know how to pick a losing cause.

Anyone who admires McCain is as self-asorbed , with feelings of entitlement, as he is. Guess McCain hasn't learned yet to keep your enemies close...that's how out of touch is is!

The less we see and hear of McCain the better. He was an angry, old, white man then, he still is. God willing Arizona voters will come to their senses and get a new Senator in 2010....this man needs to retire.

The questions asked of John McCain was no where near the verbal attack Bill O'Rielly made on Barack Obama. You don't hear President Obama crying and pouting.
The republicans have had their way so long, If things don't go just as they want them to go, they'll just take their ball and go home just like little kids!

Quite frankly, McCain should do the nation a favor and just GO AWAY! Not even JOE THE PLUMBER is willing to stay by his side, offer consolation or even speak up in support of any of his bogus campaign promises. He (Mccain) only got where he is because he has been the beneficiary of a racist and elitist past. Well, it caught up with him. When it comes to playing the game without bias or favoritism, he doesn't fair too well, does he??? America spoke LOUD and CLEAR. IT IS TIME FOR CHANGE!!!!!!

    Who cares what McCain does?

But if you really do care, this seems like a good recommendation for The View. If McCain dislikes it, it must have something good going for it.

John McCain is an old, bitter man. They have that psycho wife of a never-was football player to represent the bible beater conservatives. I'm sick of these sore losers citing the word 'liberal' as if it is a 4 letter word. I'm proud to be a liberal. These are the same people who defended Bush tooth and nail, but 3 a month into Obama's presidency want to blame him. Hate to tell you, but we were screwed before he took office, and it will take awhile to stabilize. They try to blame him for the stock market crashing, even though it is because Wall St. is still throwing a fit that we don't continue to kiss their butts. John McCain will soon go off and die and Sarah Palin has already been exposed as a fraud who was in over her head. I say it's a very good thing these two yahoos didn't get into the Oval office.

Fawning over Obama? That's because he's not a lying hypocrite like McCain. Bring on the questions, he answers them thoughtfully and intelligently.

If you're rich white trash and you are liars and fearmongers, then you deserve what you get.

Way to stay above the Repugs, Obama. You made us proud and you are continuing to do the right thing for America.
