Rep. Adam Putnam, R-Florida, is among the House Republicans the DCCC is targeting.

WASHINGTON (CNN) - A dozen House Republicans are targeted in a new House Democratic political campaign that criticizes the GOP lawmakers for opposing the $787 billion stimulus package.

The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee will contact voters this week by telephone with a recorded message saying that their Republican congressman voted “against the largest tax cut in history,” and against a stimulus bill that the business friendly U.S. Chamber of Commerce supported.

The campaign also includes “emails and text messages directly to targeted Republicans’ constituents,” a DCCC official tells CNN. House Democrats have also created a Web site to explain how they believe the stimulus bill will affect individual congressional districts.

Only three congressional Republicans, all senators, voted for the final passage of the stimulus bill.

Te people that shoud be targeted for ousters are the democratic members of the House. We are in a mess, and what people utterly fail to realize is that for 34 of the pat 40 years, Democrats have controlled the House 34/40 folks? We need to toss the dead wood, including Nancy Pelosi, barney Frank, and about 30 other beauracrats. while the Dems runs ads attacking GOP members that voted against the spending bill, nancy Pelosi spends hundreds of thousands of taxpaypayer dollars vacationing in Italy.

These republicans and the Govenors that are refusing parts of this stimulus package are hurting the people of their state, all they care about is their re-election, hoping and banking all and everything that this stumulus will fail..........but what they forget is the ones they are hurting will remember this come election day and they are cutting their own throats.......I hope this stimulus will be successful and that these republicans and Governors are voted out of their office........

If any governor refuses it, how about diverting to the states which opt for it (this would up the ante for them).

Where was the GOP opposition when they allowed "W" to increase the federal deficit larger than at anytime in U.S. history? In fact, under GOP leadership (if that's what you call ZERO OVERSIGHT) Bushie II spent more borrowed money on the National Credit Card than all of the previous US presidents combined!! But you won't hear the Greedy Old Party mentioning that. No, they just want to keep the middle-class picking cotton while they ride around in their blacked out window limos and fly in their Lear Jets at taxpayer expense. We don't need the Republican'ts help or vote to pass the stimulus bill. We already did it without them with a few GOP Senators who saw the storm coming and were brave enough to take shelter in the Obama fortress of Reason.

Okay, now this is getting ridiculous......
One thing I have always valued as a US citizen, born and raised, is the right to disagree. This smacks as complete bullying and I don't like it one bit. Any person with a functional brain can pick up a newpaper or go online and know who did not vote for the Stimulus bill. This invasion into people's homes is just oo much!

Thank GOD my representative voted against this bill! It is nothing but pork. To call it the "largest tax cut in history" is nothing short of a an outright LIE to the American people. But I've gotten accustomed to liberals lying…….
    //////
The Republicans are so used to lying that they actually believe their own lies. That's why we should ALL be very AFRAID!

They lied us into the Iraq war.

They lied us into giving a bank bailout for their buddies.

They lied us into believing that trickle down economics works even though it has been PROVEN NOT TO WORK. Thus, the 1.3 trillion tax break Bush gave to the top 5% of the wealthy in this country was just MONEY IN THEIR POCKETS.

No, I don't believe the Democrats can hang with the Republicans when it comes to lying. They have the corner on the lying market.

Well, it's interesting that we are getting all this Republican rejection, now that a Democrat owns the White House. We didn't hear nearly as much of this when the Bush Administration (the failed 2-term Republican President) instituted the $700 Billion TARP program.

To be fair, House Repubs dragged their feet, but realized that the financial world their team had tried to mold to their constituents massive advantage was crumbling around their feet. They got that done, but now along comes an economic stimulus with tax cuts and infrastructure spending and they change their tune.

I don't know of anyone that likes having to push a massive stimulus through Congress, but I also don't know ANYONE that things this thing will work itself out. Stimulus equals Spending.

Believe me, all you folks that "love your mothers", "love your God", and "love old-fashioned conservative values". We Democrats don't want to be here. But at least we've got a President that's listening and taking action.

You only have to go back to Katrina to see what a scared and ineffectual leader looks like. I'd much rather have action, than inaction.

We don't want to be here any more than you do. But, please think back over the last 8 years and tell me why we're really here. And don't say ACORN. We're here because of a completely and utterly deregulated financial market that abandoned all discipline.

Thank you President Obama and your team!!! AZ schools are a MESS and need sooooo much help!!! This is a start and ANY of the repubs that do not want the money, send it to the states that do!!! You all will see a "mass exodus" to those states!!! Come live in AZ and try and get your kids a decent public school education! Impossible! AZ is 50th in the union and we will be behind third world countries next!! Our roads are not much better!! The rich got richer out here and being a nonunion state they expect everyone to live on 10dollars an hour!!

Stop thanking "God" that your representatives voted against the Stimulus Package. God is not in them, and the devil is in their strategies. Stop calling it a "Spending Bill." Every time you do, you reveal how little you know about the Package. Stop listening to Drudge, Limbaugh, Hannity, Coulter-geist and the like. All of those people have money (right now). They are playing political games with you. Wake up.

we now see for ourselves just what the rethugs do when they want to help themselves and not the american people, just say NO!! america deserves better. i can't wait to see them all go in 2010 then maybe we cant get to work fixing our country. they never said a peep when reagan nationalized the air traffic controllors in the 80's, but then that was union busting and that was ok. now because of their de-regulation the banks may have to be nationalized and the government has to become the largest spender and employer now the scream commie, socialist etc. where were they the last 14 years they controlled everything?? they were living large and they were ok with that. they still had jobs and healthcare and money. that's what they care about, not you or me or america. they must go.

I'm glad mine voted against the welfare bill and I'm out of a job soon. This stupid bill will not get me into another job in the next few weeks. And the piddly littel tax cut that Sen. Obama gave us is just as worthless. Nothing but symbolism – That's all this is!

according to the Dems (which ran on a spirit of bi-partisanship) Bi-Partisan means the democrats spending the equivalent of a million dollars a day for the next two THOUSAND years, and the republicans grabbing their ankles.

Raise the tax on small business, I,m very tied of hearing that the future of this country is in the hands of small business. Small business is actually what it means , small . The manufacturing capacity of this country has been gutted . Sub contracting to SMALL BUSINESS , has eliminated the infrastructure of the public sector to the point that the capacity to re tool for the challenges of the new world economy are all but non existent. Small business cannot expend the cash or credit to retool and become a world leaders again. It is a pipe dream to believe that our future will be enhanced with our nation wide support of small business. How many small businesses does it take to equal a U.S. Steel or DuPont or CATIPILLAR. PLEASE THINK

I'd be more inclined to have sympathy for them if I didn't believe that they were delaying the bill purely for the sake partisanship. It's great if you can pick apart someone else's plan, but you don't get any points in my book unless you can offer a counter-proposal, instead of just delaying for delaying sake.

It is heartening to hear that everyone hasn't been brainwashed into believing that the stimulas package is going to save the country.
What needs to be done is prosecuting the criminal CEOs that ran these companies down for their own greed and make them pay restitution. Democrats are blinded by their ideas of power and will ruin this great country.

Why do you need the Republicans? You are in charge of both houses, and the Presidency. Go ahead, take responsibility for your actions, for once. Are you afraid that when this whole thing blows up in your faces you will join the ranks of the jobless? No problem. You get your full pensions and medical care for life. You don't have to worry about anything.

Remember Republicans: OBSTRUCT! OBSTRUCT! OBSTRUCT! It's what we're paying you for. You are the only thing that is going to stop B.O. and his "Democratic SOCIALIST Party of America" from destroying this country. May B.O. fail and may God Bless the G.O.P!!!
