(CNN) - More than a dozen pieces of jewelry were stolen from former Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney’s Deer Valley, Utah home last week, according to the Salt Lake Tribune.

Park City police told the paper that the thief was likely someone who had access to the house. There was no sign of forced entry.

The $5 million home is currently up for sale, along with another Romney residence in Massachusetts.

The former Massachusetts governor will address activists at the Conservative Political Action Conference in Washington Friday, as he aims for his third win in the annual gathering’s presidential preference straw poll.

Oh I forgot – everyone who still sides with the Republican Party needs to see them for who they really are:

Watch their HBO Documentary called "Right America-Wronged". It's on HBO on Demand for free. It's about 45 minutes of real Republicans talking about their Party values and beliefs and their view for the the future of the nation.

Prepare to be appalled! This is the Republican Party base!

You just can't trust anyone any more. Mitt might want to talk to his banker or stockbroker though. A lot of stuff seems to be disappearing around these stone-faced chaps.

@ shibumi, who asked "Do any liberals actually believe you can become wealthy by determination and hard work? Or does the "hard work" aspect scare the snot out of you?"

No, we don't believe it. Either you are born wealthy and privileged like the pigheaded meatball in the picture above or the overwhelming likelihood is that you will spend your life as a debt-riddled indentured servant to some corporation that has a stranglehold on a chunk of the nation's wealth. You can spew the ideology all you want, but it doesn't change the fact that the vast majority of America is hamstrung by the fact that reality decided trickle-down economics was a ridiculous fairy tale. The only thing that is scaring the snot out of us is that reliance on trusting corporate America not to do everything in its considerable power to grab all the money and never let go has turned the American dream into the American pipe dream. The carrot on the end of the stick is rotting.

Linda from Minnesota, well said. I would like to add though, liberals are the hard working ones now. It is the hateful trailer trash that are the ones sucking off the system. And most of them hate democrats and liberals. Hispanics will work any amount of jobs they can so don't make it seem like they are lazy because it is not true.

It's not the hard work, it's the arrogance and the cold-heartedness. Any foolcan profit by screwing over others.

I'll put down my pen as soon as the GOP stops telling me to "trust corporate America with all your money...it'll magically sift back down."

Come on, CNN. Surely you know what "rob" means!!! You cannot rob an inanimate object. You can rob a person, by force or threat of force. But, you cannot rob a house!

It's called burglary, or breaking and entering.

Yes, yes it does. It would show that you've taken the time to educate yourself and know what you're talking about...not just uning reverse peristalsis to parrot the Rushtard.

I'm sorry, this does sound "fishy" we just sold a home eight months ago that we were living in – However, we put most of our values in storage along with putting our jewerly in a fire proof safe and stage the house for viewing only! Of course, we had insurance but who would want some stranger walking through your home and just so happen to pick up something along the way. Unless it was the contract with the intent to purchase! We don't have near the money that he has but we weren't trying to scam the insurance company either! Yes, It sounds fishy!

Would a smart person leave more than a dozen pieces of jewlery in the very home that he/she is trying to sell in these difficult times? Either this is a made up story for publicity by media or whoever, or Ex-Gov. Romney is not a smart person or politician.

Mitt you are a business person, a sly business person, a very greedy business person. It doesn't take much for some people to see that you are committing an insurance scam in this low point of the economy.
I would never vote for you because I don't trust you at all.

It is absolutely disgusting to see some of these comments on here. A mans house was robbed. Just because he is conservative, doesn't mean it is a good thing he got robbed. That would be like me cheering for Ted Kennedy or Barbara Boxer being robbed. Absolutely sick.

"That said, never in my life did I think I'd hate conservatives like I do. They have no clue what a true liberal is."

And you have no clue what a true conservative is either, going by your comments. It goes both ways.

Someone, in every wealthy family, worked very hard to make money, and anyone who has the juevos to take risks and work sometimes 2 jobs and sometimes endless hours to get a business off of the ground can still become wealthy in America. I have seen immigrants live in deplorable conditions, scrimping and saving to buy into the American dream and are now well off. Liberals have the impression that they deserve a piece of everybody's pie and do not need to work or take risks for it themselves.

Wow so even though there has been a home broken into and items taken it is ok because he has money and the fact that he was born into money that makes it more ok. No wonder our country is in the mess it is in. The government spending has been out of control for many years and so I guess if the other side wins in 4 years the argument will be about all of the money that the last crew spent so we can spend more. When one day China decides that they want to call in all of those loans or sells them off to another country and we are suddenly faced with a horrible reality perhaps then everyone will look more clearly at what we have all become and remember how good we really had it. what a shame that maybe by that time it will be too late
