Democrats voice concerns on Obama's Iraq drawdown plan

WASHINGTON (CNN) - Top Democrats have expressed concerned over President Obama's plan to draw down nearly two-thirds of U.S. forces in Iraq by August 2010, while some key Republicans are offering praise.
At issue: Obama plans to leave between 35,000 to 50,000 residual forces in the war-torn country, serving in a training or advisory role to the Iraqi military.
All U.S. troops have to be out of Iraq by December 31, 2011, under an agreement the Bush administration signed with the Iraqi government last year. There are currently 142,000 U.S. troops in Iraq.
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-California, recently cited concern that the residual force Obama is planning to leave in Iraq is too large.
That old bag needs to be run out of DC, and she can take Obama and Biden with her.

Pelosi's record as a Bush Baby rubber stamping his wishes exclude her from criticizing President Obama's handling of the wars. She is neither qualified nor respected for her judgement on anything. The President is doing great without her input!!!
Here's a Republican, non-Koolaid drinker, who actually agrees with Obama on this one. I still think he's taking the ship of state in the wrong economic direction, but if he didn't stand up to Pelosi's crazy ideas we'd be resting on the sea bed.
No wonder he has held up to his promise to UNITE the Dems and Repubs....His own party has yet to agree with anything that he's thrown out there – Budget, War efforts, etc.....
It's just great that the Dems are running things now...4 more years, 4 more years – until we're all speaking Chinese!

As a small business owner that had to lay off some people, I decided to walk the employee parking lot to see who had Obama bumper stickers on their cars. Those are the people that were laid off. They wanted change, they got it. Change you can believe in.

Democrats should have resisted the invasion. Only 23 senators voted against that authorization of force. Now, when finally Bush, Cheney and Rumsfeld will be in court and hopefully in prison for starting Iraq invasion

Pelosi you need to pick one side or the other and stay with it. You will say or do anything that gets your mug on the national news. Your not in California anymore so your words mean zero. While I appreciate the independent thinking of Democrats, President Obama always said he would listen to the commanders on the ground when settings goals on a responsible withdrawal from Iraq.
Many Americans appreciate his pragmatic, centrist positions and trust the president will make any necessary adjustments as conditions permit.

President Bush on the Iraq War, which will be reduced to a flicker, by a
Peace Keeping Force, that will protect the new democracy of Iraq.
President Obama did exactly what he was supposed to do. He looked at the information available and made the most of it. He is keeping his promise it will just take 3 months longer. He never said all the troops would be out in 16 months, just combat troops. Democrats like Pelosi and Reid need to calm down. They have had this extra power for a little over a month and it has already gone to their heads, especially Pelosi. I think she needs start drinking decaf like Santelli. The democrats don't want to end up like the republicans. It is okay to diagree with the President, but stop making mountains out of molehills.
