DNC chair: Limbaugh is the GOP's 'Wizard of Oz'

[cnn-photo-caption image= caption="Limbaugh is 'the godfather' of the GOP, said DNC chairman Tim Kaine."]WASHINGTON (CNN) - The chairman of the Democratic National Committee persisted Tuesday in calling attention to his Republican counterpart Michael Steele’s apology to Rush Limbaugh, describing the radio host as “the Wizard of Oz” and “the godfather” of the GOP.

DNC Chairman Tim Kaine told CNN that Steele’s backpedaling from earlier criticisms of the talk show host proves that Limbaugh is "the Wizard of Oz, you know, who kind of oversees everything" in the Republican Party.

Earlier in the day, Kaine told MSNBC that Limbaugh is “clearly the godfather, or the he-who-must-be-obeyed in Republican politics these days.”

“When Chairman Steele over the weekend pointed out that the kinds of comments that Rush Limbaugh has been making, hoping the president will fail, pointing out that those were ugly and incendiary, I thought that that took some guts to say that,” Kaine told CNN.

“But then the fact that he backtracked immediately leaves me wondering, okay, so is Rush Limbaugh the guy that's really in charge of the party?”

Democrats are eager to highlight the GOP skirmish: Kaine made several cable appearances Tuesday and released two statements criticizing Steele after the RNC chair called Limbaugh to apologize for calling him an “entertainer” and saying his comments can be “ugly.”

Considering he dressed up at CPAC in honor of Cheney's hero it's more fitting to call him the "Darth Vader" of the GOP rather than the "Wizard of Oz" or, the "God Father". He also seems to get the same response from the senators and governers that offend him as Darth Vader got, complete fear and terror.

So you'll post non-sensical garbage like the post written below, yet I've written three posts throughout the day and all three are still awaiting moderation???

Listen, if my e-mail address is on some blacklist or something, fine. But at least have the common courtesy to notify me so I don't waste my time attempting to post comments. THANK YOU!

Rush doesn't look well. Judging from his weight and age I don't think we will have endure him for much longer.

Would your comments be something like racial profiling?

LOL who is better to "blindly follow" and listen to? Obama or Rush?

I can't see how you can not be insane and believe what Rush says.

The "godfather" of the GOP. That is the scariest thing that I have heard in a long time. How about the "carnival act" of the GOP????

  6. WILLthey EVERlearn?

NO ONE is leading the repub party right now. They are all trying to be the bigwhig and that's what is bringing them down along with their outdated "values". They can't stand not being in power and will do ANYTHING to cut throats of anyone who crosses their path. Just like the bullies on the playground. They ALL need to grow up and out of the wrangling they are doing and start WORKING FOR the American people. I feel 2010 will be much worse for them and they (if not already) will become oblivious. The bickering is very child like and the real Americans are seeing right through it...

  7. Obama 2.0

If people think LimBush is powerful with his 20m listeners then how powerful is President Obama with 66,770,924+ Americans that support him. Those where just the ones that voted fr him. His actual approval numbers are even higher. If the Republicans are smart they will run away from Rush like the bomb that he is. Unfortunatly the GOP is spliting into two parties and that means that they will be regional parties. Sad, Sad, Sad.
