A big surprise for the Obama girls

(CNN) - The Obama girls still don't have a puppy, but they did receive another surprise when they arrived home from school Wednesday– a brand new swing set.

A spokeswoman for First Lady Michelle Obama says Malia and Sasha, ages 10 and 7, "squealed with delight" when they saw their surprise, playing on the swing set for almost an hour in the chilly weather.

The girls' parents arranged for the play set to be installed Wednesday at the White House grounds, within sight of the Oval Office, before Malia and Sasha arrived home from Sidwell Friends school.

Good for them, but this isn't newsworthy.

21st century media is complete garbage.

Yeah.....just a matter of time before the "newsworthy" questions popped up.

Dude......if you don't like the storyline, then don't read it......just move on (LOL) !

Some people just can't be happen unless they have something to complain about 😉 .

Wonderful to observe a bit of normalcy in this otherwise adult being able to be kids...and the added bonus, Dad can see them from his office window. It speaks to family values and children being enabled to enjoy playtime just like any other kids...Kudos to the parents for this example to the world!

Aviate: Well said. It amazes me how the conservative base, who is supposed to be pro family and morals, values, integrity, honesty, are nothing but nay-sayers, blamers, liars, troublemakers, snobs, and anything but actually Christian. Rush and the rest of them need to come out of their denial. It is like watching a really bad soap opera!

As for the Obamas, three cheers for them. They are working so hard to restore America to real family values and what America is about. If anyone knows what this country was originally founded on, Obama does. He cuts through all the media and RNC b.s. and thank Goodness he is brushing all of that off of his sleeve. These two girls, and every parent in America, are so lucky to have such a great role model.

Go home Rush, sit on your lonely couch and drink your beer.

Malia and Sasha a lucky to have such great parents. I remember when my kids got thier first swingset; they too played on for hours on that first day.

Shame on those that feel it necessary to post negative comments about something so innocent.
