The President going to Europe on MY DIME!?!??!?!?!! This is OUTRAGEOUS! He is definitely, by far, no-questions-asked, undeniably the WORST President this country has ever had. Ever? Yes, ever.

People should forget about what the Republicans think. They have lost all of their credibility with the American people. They are as useless as the horse and buggy. They lied about Iraq and all the way through the campaign and voted against the stimulus package without reading it, and Justice Roberts messed up the oath on purpose. This is who they are.

I'm proud of our President. I feel he will represent our country well. And it's amazing how much international support he's received already.

It is what our President does – and we are in a world economy for sure. He will probably represent us well at times and I know we won't always agree with what he says, but I don't agree with 100% of anything that is said by anyone.

Just to head off the haters:

    1. It's a working trip, not a vacation.
    2. Most world leaders bring their spouse along when they visit
    foreign countries.
    3. The cost of the plane trip will be the same whether he goes alone or
4 These trips have ALWAYS been paid for by the taxpayer, not just
    for the Obamas.
    5. The majority of European countries love the fact that Obama won
and would be disappointed if Michelle did not come with him on this
trip. It is a good PR move.
    6. Maybe if Bush had made more of an effort to work together with
these countries, (instead of getting us into a trumped up war) they
would have respected us over the past 8 years. We need their
cooperation and help if we want to be successful in many of our
    7. He will be out of the country, not in outer space. He can be back
here in a matter of hours, if needed.

I've tried to anticipate some of the ridiculous complaints/comments that will turn up here, but I'm sure some of you will still be able to find something else to complain about, no matter how irrational.

Also, since the "swing-set" comments were already closed:

They paid for it out of their own pocket and since both of them worked for a living at good paying jobs, I'm sure they could well afford it. Also, they are not the first occupants to this sort of thing:

"Presidents throughout the years have altered the landscape of the White House grounds to suit their recreational needs, or their children's.

James Buchanan added the first greenhouse in 1857, and Theodore Roosevelt followed with a tennis court in 1903.

Historical photos show two of Franklin D. Roosevelt's grandchildren playing on a slide near a jungle gym on the South Lawn, and much later Caroline Kennedy pushing younger brother John F. Kennedy Jr. on a swing set, also on the South Lawn.

Gerald Ford added an outdoor swimming pool, and Jimmy Carter's daughter, Amy, had a treehouse. George H.W. Bush had tree-mounted swings installed for granddaughters Jenna and Barbara, and Bill Clinton, a jogger, installed a running track."
