Boehner hits Democrats after latest jobs report

WASHINGTON (CNN) - House Minority Leader John Boehner responded to the latest dismal jobs report Friday by accusing Democrats of pursuing policies “that are only proving to make matters worse.”

Boehner said in a statement that “Washington Democrats seem more determined than ever to continue pursuing tax hikes and pork-barrel spending increases” that won’t help middle-class families.

He called on the president to follow through on his campaign promise to fight wasteful spending by vetoing the omnibus spending bill and its thousands of earmarks. He also asked Obama to work with leaders the House and Senate to enact a spending freeze for the rest of the year.

“The American people want and deserve better solutions from both parties in Washington, and they expect us to work together to make the same tough budget choices they are being forced to make during this economic downturn,” Boehner said.

If Boehner knew what he was talking about he would be at 1600 Penn ave. not Obama. When Reagen was in office he cut cut cut. People were living in the streets, communities were in ruin. But with Obama at least the little guy has a chance to recover from the Bush mess.

Politics! The job losses are an accumulation of different events that led to the downfall in the economy, which has been sliding since 2006. Boehner is continuing to talk politics, instead of actually working with the President to get better legislation to help with the economy, and job losses in the United States.

The Republican Policies of Cutting Taxes, and increasing spending during their time in power, is what has led this country to the place we are now. It will take time for President Obama to reverse this economic crisis.

All I have heard from republicans during this crisis is finger pointing, political game playing, and the popular Deny, Demand, and DO Nothing.

"Ronald Reagan knew how to get us out of a recession. He cut taxes rather than raise them." - This is not accurate. Reagan did cut taxes, but he had to undo much of those cuts a year or two later.

Is this man serious? The Repullicans have put us in this fix, and are now grandstanding to continue their failed paliouses. They need to start working to help fix this economy.

Okay what the heck is a spending freeze going to do at this time. McCain had the same sound byte during the campaign. Someone need to take a ride over to Crawford, wake Bush up and kick his tail. The only thing I hear from Republicans are tax cut and spending freeze; and then what? Everybody sit around and look at each other. I hope the whole lot is voted out in 2010. Pres. Obama has been working hard (maybe doing too much at once) but it seems there are so many fires for him to put out.

Boehner and the Republicans must take Americans as brainless. Anyone with an sense and judgement know they are responsible for the problems facing this country. How can Obama be blamed when he has only been in office less than two months.

    Republicans,

Please tell us what the Republican leadership proposes as an alternative to Obama's plan. Honestly, I for one am open minded and willing to consider a reasonable solution from any party.

What I've heard so far from the GOP leadership is "tax cuts." Is there more? Am I missing something?

    Please enlighten me.

OMG. Is this guy a drama queen or what? Yep, 6 weeks in office Obama should have seen results from his programs. Did he throw some paperwork across the floor? How's his state doing?

New democratic strategy. (really old but it just keeps staying around)

1 Keep blaming GWB until next election.
2 Never own up to the fact that things were not this bad until the democrats took control of congress.
3 Never own up to the fact that things keep getting worse and worse every time obama opens his mouth, (which is terrible because if he isn't in the spotlight every day, I think he starts to melt or something)
4 As things keep getting worse based on democrati decisions, remember rule 1.

Forgot rule 5... when faced with no excuses, always say, "well they did it when GEB was president!!, which to most idiots is a valid reason to not accept blame.

Obama and the Democrats, whether they like it or not, now own this recession. They have done nothing but spend and spend. People like to compare him to Ronald Reagan for his speaking skills, and his charisma, but there is one big difference. Ronald Reagan knew how to get us out of a recession. He cut taxes rather than raise them. He cut the capital gains tax. He cut the taxes for business and corporations. Will Obama learn from history, or will he repeat the mistakes that Jimmy Carter made. So far, he looks like another Jimmy Carter, as he is fast approaching those numbers.
    ***************************************************************************
Carter lost because Reagan cut a deal with the terrorist who took hostages to hold them until he got into office. Ever heard of "Reaganomics?" That wasn't a compliment, you know. Reagan caused the worst of inflation crises. What kind of parallel universe do you Republicans live in?

Last time I checked, Boehner, tax hikes only affect those making over 250K. Stop misleading people. You fail to remember that it was your party's policies of the last 8 years that got us into this mess. Stop playing politics and get to work !!!

Ok. Tell me what is the plan offered by GOP. Remember Sr. Bush said? You are either lead or follow, otherwise get out of the way. If you don't have a plan for this Economy crisis, then shut up.

Do Republicans think everyone is stupid and will just take what they say without THINKING? When they were in office, they blamed the prior administration that we all recall working and prospering during. Now that they are out of office, they blame the new 44 day old administration. At what point do they take any responsibility for their actions and inactions that brought us to this point?

Scapegoating, lying and denying....they are beyond ridiculous now.

Wake up Democrats! It was the Community Reinvestment Act that the Democrats promoted that brought down the housing market. Take some blame instead of going after the Republicans all the time. I am getting sick of it. Please explain why the stock market has gone down 4,500 points since Obama got in office?
