First lady, Oprah share magazine cover

The new cover of O magazine features both Winfrey and Obama.

(CNN) – First lady Michelle Obama told Oprah Winfrey that the weekend after Inauguration was like a “huge, very complicated wedding,” in an interview for “O” magazine set to hit newsstands on March 17.

“Well, we still had family here, so it was almost like a wedding. A huge, very complicated wedding. The last visitors didn't leave until Sunday,” the first lady told Winfrey. “And then the first Monday was kind of weird. You know: Now we live here, and Barack is getting up and going to work, and it's just us. This is our home now.”

She also told Winfrey that she felt very “privileged” to live in the White House and that she wants her “kids to be treated like children, not little princesses.”

Oprah endorsed President Obama during the Democratic primary season, and traveled with both Obamas on the campaign trail. The cover of O featuring Michelle Obama is the first Winfrey has shared with someone else.

Oh boy, hopefully two successful Black women being on a cover of a magazine will not cause too much upset to people who hate us without legitimate cause. Oprah has done more for families and education than I am sure you have phoenix86. I am so sure if this was Lara Bush and a White media star no one would have a complaint.

Oprah and the First Lady on a magazine cover? What a great idea. Why hasn't someone thought of this before? Before we know it, they'll be on many other covers, maybe even by themselves.

Oprah had showed how she was biased between women and men and between black and white during the campaign in 2008. That's why I stopped purchasing the "O" megazine and watching her show, Oxigyn.

The likes of you,phoenix86 or texas teacher could and WILL NOT be as smart, priviledged, educated or powerful as Barack, Michelle, or Oprah!!! As far as staying away from Michelle and Oprah, what makes you think you would ever get the chance to be graced by their presence? NEWSFLASH: You never will!!! They are in a league you can only dream of being in. Sweet dreams!!!

This is for LAST PATRIOT... Are you blaming Michelle and Oprah for the "tatters" your 401k ois in? My 401k is a mess too, but it certainly is not because Michelle and Oprah ran the country into the ground. You can blame yourself and the guy you probably voted into office before Barack inherited y'alls mess!!! Don't worry the DEMS will help you out!!!

This is to "lady in the know". Get over it, Oprah is who she is and I'm quite sure she could care less about your hatred towards her. She is far from a racist and you know it. As far as other people being more deserving of the spotlight that President Obama and the First Lady Michelle are getting, that may be so, but unfortunately, other people are not the PRESIDENT and FIRST LADY of the USA!!! Get over it, they are who they are and they have made HISTORY and they are so deserving of all the spotlight they are getting. And please remember, our President did not get us in this mess we are in with the economy, his predecesor did. The American people picked PRESIDENT OBAMA, not just black people but all races. This nation needs to be healed, not constantly divide! We don't always get what we want in life!!!
