Chuck Norris for president … of Texas

[cnn-photo-caption image= caption="If the State of Texas ever left the Union, Chuck Norris is interested in being president of the newly independent country."] (CNN) – Actor Chuck Norris has his eyes on the presidency, but not the White House. Norris wrote that he would be interested in becoming the president of Texas, if the state were ever to secede from the Union.

“I may run for president of Texas,” Norris wrote Monday in a column posted at WorldNetDaily. “That need may be a reality sooner than we think. If not me, someone someday may again be running for president of the Lone Star state, if the state of the union continues to turn into the enemy of the state.”

The actor claimed “thousands of cell groups will be united around the country in solidarity over the concerns for our nation” and said that if states decide to secede from the union, that Texas would lead the way.

“Anyone who has been around Texas for any length of time knows exactly what we'd do if the going got rough in America,” Norris wrote.

“Let there be no doubt about that.” Norris was a strong supporter of Mike Huckabee’s presidential bid, and he helped to draw attention to the former Arkansas governor’s campaign.

Most of America would be delighted to see Texas go, in particular since it has been Texas-based idiots like George W. Bush who have brought this country to brink of ruin.

And when you leave, Texas, be sure to take with you your share of the national debt. Or better yet, take 50%, since it was your "W." – who you proudly elected president twice – who doubled the debt in 8 years.

Per the treaty under which Texas joined the Union, the State has the right to either split into five seperate states or to secede. Let 'em go. The state is full of red-neck idiots with no respect for personal rights, women's rights, worker's rights... the list goes on. They already have their own electric power grid which is seperate from the rest of the country. Many Texans dream of, and idolize, the days of the Republic of Texas and wish to re-institute that independence. Let 'em go!

Isn't it interesting how all the American flag wavers are really terrorists and ANTI-AMERICAN! So much for who's a "real" American. Chuck Norris is a MORON with delusions of grandeur! He should be the first one arrested when the federal governament cracks down on terrorists and TRAITORS! All true Americans should put his movies in a shredder. I certainly plan to!

    Enough said about the matter.

Well that's great. Instead of working together to try and make it through the hard times, just run from the problem. Yep, that will fix things. What an idiot.

Even if it were possible for Texas to secede, this clown would be wholly unqualified to be President. Hell, he couldn't even get himself elected as Governor right now. For that matter, he's wholly unqualified to even be an actor. Have you ever seen "Walker: Texas Ranger"? That show was so bad it was comical.

So sorry to hear that Mr. Norris' loyalty to our nation is contingent on everything being done his way. The whole concept of this country and the thing that makes it the envy of much of the world is that we have managed to find a way to commit to one another even when we don't always agree politically. Mr. Norris, if you intend to lead a break-away country of Texas it would do you well to remember that even there not everyone thinks like you do. Maybe it would be better if you just put away the rhetoric and made a greater effort to work for the common good instead of just your own.

Wow wow wow! What a great show of patriotism... if the going gets rough destroy the USA!!!

At worst this is treason... at best this sounds like a bunch of whiny children who are going to take their little marbles out of the game. Conservatvie douche bags like norris need to get over the fact that they can't continue for ever shoving their ideas and dogmas down people's throats. To them I say the same thing they have been saying to others for the past eight years: if you don't like it go live in another country! Maybe a place like China or Saudi Arabia would suit you better.

Hell yes we would liberal fruitcakes can have any other state and within 2 years you will have managed to ruin it the way you've ruined CA and NY. What you clowns dont realize is we control 75% of the continental 48 states oil, natural gas and refineries. Not to mention we have more than enough livestock, agricultural and cotton resources, along with a major shipping port (Houston) and plentiful wildgame hunting reserves....we also have the most potential of any state for wind and solar power. That along with major telecom, technical, and other industries we can easily be a self contained country...the rest of you will be begging to illegaly cross our borders within 2 years when your left wing liberal socialist government taxes you to death and you have no food or energy resources.

  22. Sick of freeloading Democrats

    To Republicans becoming more frightening.......

Whats more frightening is the liberals taking over our country and turning it into a communist/socialistic country that takes our money and makes us pay for people who think their entitled to our hard earned tax dollars while we work our butts off for nothing but giving to people like Pelosi/Reid so they can increase their salaries and give free citizenship to 12-20 million illegals to ensure our country stays underl socialistic rule. Third world country here we come!!!!

What would be better is if the entire GOP stops paying their taxes and does nothing but sign up for the free checks and then see where this country goes.

Margaret Thatcher said...."the problem with socialism is we eventually run out of the people that pay into the system" and anyone with half a brain should be able to figure out where that is going to take our future and our country.

I don't want to pay for people who don't pay into the system and I don't owe any Democrat or anyone else a free ride.

I just might surprise all of you Demo idiots that there are a lot more of us out there that are sick and tired of being robbed and cheated by our politicans...I am not a religious die fact I am not even religious...just someone who has worked my whole life and never taken a dime from the system....but surely paid my fair share of taxes.

Why is it that almost every person elected to Obama's cabinet has a tax simply is because they are all crooks and who can blame people like Chuck Norris for wanting accountablity...he is not the only one...who wants these low life politicans to do what they were elected to do or get out.

It is indeed unfortunate that Mr. Norris, who had the potential to do good, has tipped way over to the side of treason. If he had any amount of intelligence, one might suppose he could actually gain support in his endeavor; however, as it is, he will attract only the fringe lunatics who are ineffectual but lethal.
