Limbaugh to star in DNC roadside ad

WASHINGTON (CNN) - National Democrats plan to unveil a new theme Thursday morning in their ongoing campaign to portray conservative talk radio host Rush Limbaugh as the true leader of the Republican Party.

"Americans didn't vote for a Rush to failure," is the slogan that will be splashed across a billboard in Limbaugh's hometown of West Palm Beach, Florida, and printed on T-shirts, a Democratic National Committee official told CNN.

Limbaugh has said several times that he hopes President Barack Obama fails, a sentiment that has put elected Republicans in a tight spot during this time of economic crisis.

The DNC official said more than 80,000 slogans were submitted for the contest, and more than 50,000 people helped narrow the list to the top five.

The timing of when the billboard will be set up has not been finalized, the official said.

I love it. The democrats are hiding behind Rush because they have no idea how to guide the USA.

  2. Not "Rush"ing

While I agree with most of the negative comments about this sorry excuse for a man, I think it would be better just to let this fade away.

Um – you could fix this non-factual report by stating it more clearly and correctly that Rush stated that he hopes the economic policies of the Obama Admin. fail, NOT the Obama presidency as a whole.

The author of this article is another dishonest drive-by-media 'reporter'.

Just when you think the Democrats might begin acting like adults, they do something stupid again. Idiots. It may begin to dawn on them in a while, though, that Rush isn't the "leader" of the Republicans as they seem to think. By then, they'll have again made themselves look like fools and by so doing, made themselves even more vulnerable to losing what they've gained.

The DNC has proved themselves to be untrustworthy PERIOD.

They waste their time distracting people from the real issues, by fabricating a smear campaign against Rush, who I don't respect or like, but he has done nothing illegal or technically wrong.

1st: He didn't say he want's Obama to fail. He said if the Presidents plans and intentions are to make this country socialist, then he hopes he fails. I support my president, and hope he is successful, BUT, I don't want to live in a Socialist country either. So I hope any Socialist programs fail to take root.

2nd: The DNC is doing EXACTLY what all the left wing/liberal attack dogs claim the GOP does. It appears that no GOP/Conservative is allowed to speak their mind, but many DNC/Liberal is free to say what ever they want. Hypocrites and liars, is what those people are. The DNC has turned into the GOP, there is no difference between them, in terms of this type of behavior.

I hear many people say, well the shoes on the other foot, the people have spoken, the GOP is the NO party, etc. They feel empowered now that Obama has won, to dictate over everyone, and dismiss any opponents as evil and deserving of their wrath.

52% to 48% is not an overwhelming victory. Considering how pathetic Palin turned out to be, I would say the electorate is a lot closer than you think. Next election could come as a surprise to many of us, especially if the Dems continue down this path of destruction. How do I know? It's exactly the same path the GOP walked, and they paid the price.

My best friend, Jack Blair, died Saturday evening, but not before he and I discussed a slogan for the billboard, which had a picture of Limbaugh holding a lit cigar. I'm still laughing as I think about the slogan Jack came up with: "Hey Rush! You're supposed to blow that smoke out of your mouth..."

I voted for Obama, but I have to say this billboard is a mistake.

First of all, I don't like Rush, but the 'fail' quote is deliberately misleading and I wish the Democrats would stop focusing on it. They know dang well it doesn't mean what they keep saying it means. Rush wants Obama to fail because he disagrees with his policies, not because he wants America to fail – a fact he will loudly and gleefully point out when this billboard goes up, to illustrate what liars Democrats are. Don't be surprised if HE takes out billboards in response.

The Democrats should just ignore LImbaugh and concentrate on the country. I think there are a few things happening right now that might need just a little bit of attention...

It's so comical to see how CNN, MSNBC & Fox constantly put Coservatives, Rebulicans, Deocrats & Independants at each others throats. It's not the american people that prepetuate hate in this country it's the media.

Rush states it, the Republicans in Congress, act on it. They are doing whatever they can to aid the effort to try to make the Recovery fail. A successful Recovery would insure decades of Democrat political dominance. Unfortunately, it's as simple as that.

If I were a democrate I would be trying to find a slogan to divert attention away from the economy and issues also. Nice try!

Please don't waste such time effort and money on that bozo! To anyone with any intelligence his mouth is enough to show what he is made of (or not). Giving a man like that credence even with such acknowledgment only inflates his ego more and those who support him will rally around that totem of the GOP and dance because they think that he is "feared"!

Let's get the facts correct CNN. Limbaugh said that if Obama continued his policies of socialism, then he hoped it would fail. This is much like hoping a business model fails if it is designed around price gouging, worker abuse and falsehood. Are you against the business or the workers- no. Are you against the policy- yes. CNN, do not do the work of the Dem party. Let the Dems protect themselves and CNN report facts.

Why bother with all of this??? This "Rush" is digging his own grave, atleast with those of us that have some intelligence.
There is no need to resort to this. What people know... people know!

He's just a loud mouth entertainer. Entertaining to some, disgusting to others! The more he's in the news, the more he spews his venom,
the more we see of him (can't really not see him) = the more money he makes.
If we just ignore his bantor he'll slowly go away. One can only hope...

Such childish, but highly predictable behavior from the liberal democrats....attack anyone that may offer an opposing, and better view to issues instead of their slanted, irresponsible belief system.
Bush overspent, but the careless actions of the democratic party have caused the mortgage crisis, the market meltdown and high unemployment....you can blame it on repubs all you like, but the facts are there; once the dems controlled congress, the failures started occurring for the economy.

He is egotistical enough to really appreciate this publicity. I have never been able to understand his attraction to some elements of the American public any more than I can understand why people show interest in the Ann Coulter. You have a fat slob and an androgenous witch. Both a disgusting beyond words.
