Limbaugh to star in DNC roadside ad

WASHINGTON (CNN) - National Democrats plan to unveil a new theme Thursday morning in their ongoing campaign to portray conservative talk radio host Rush Limbaugh as the true leader of the Republican Party.

"Americans didn't vote for a Rush to failure," is the slogan that will be splashed across a billboard in Limbaugh's hometown of West Palm Beach, Florida, and printed on T-shirts, a Democratic National Committee official told CNN.

Limbaugh has said several times that he hopes President Barack Obama fails, a sentiment that has put elected Republicans in a tight spot during this time of economic crisis.

The DNC official said more than 80,000 slogans were submitted for the contest, and more than 50,000 people helped narrow the list to the top five.

The timing of when the billboard will be set up has not been finalized, the official said.

Limbaugh is the voice of the RNC? Well he is some sort of Svengali to the Republican Party. He say jump and they say how high!

Lets put it this way, if Obama follows the Patriot Act he would be fired, like Montel Williams and Bill Maher, and that by the way, that is a violation to the Constitution of the United States.

    CNN please post this one!

Yes, this billboard will be more or less to put Republicans on an alaert to watch out for their total collapse if they continue to let Rush be their leader. Because Rush is precisely the reason Republican party is increasingly being isolated by the day.

There are far greater issues for the Democratic leadership to be focusing on, other than this blathering idiot and voters are getting tired of the nonsense.

On the other hand, any Republican who says boo to the uncrowned king of conservatism is forced by the party to atone for their blasfamous misgivings and take up his banner.

Democrats need to stick to what we voted for them to do what we sent them to washington to do. And Republicans need to get off their knees and get their heads out of the sand.

As vile as Limbaugh is, he's also brilliant at marketing himself. This multiple-divorced, pill-popping, morbidly obese blowhard has been out of the spotlight for years and suddenly he's popular again because he continues to get tons of coverage from the new media and the democrats for his comment about wanting Obama to fail. His plan worked perfectly. The best response would have been not to dignify such a stupid comment to begin with. How does any non-Bronze Age thinking individual take Rush seriously? He's a hateful, uneducated pig who only appeals to a fringe element of ultra-conservative creeps – The KKK are big fans, for example.

Why are we wasting a penny on this guy, he loves the attention and won't go away till they quit putting him in the limelight. We have real issues in this country and as far as I am concerned Rush is a total drug using non issue. Lets get on will the real problems, and if President Obama does fail, then we can all blame Rush for the things going wrong in this country, maybe then he will sit down and shut the hell up.

Looks to me like the Democrats are scared to death of Rush. In the meantime, their clownish leader is running around in circles driving his little clown car at the direction of President Pelosi, doing a million things at once and all of them ineptly, while ignoring the #1 issue, which is the economy (except for making it worse every time he opens his foolish inexperienced mouth). He is going to make Carter look like a genius.

I wish the Dems would stop all these Rush ads and discussion. Every time they bring it up, I have to watch clips of that buffoon on the news shows and I'm getting tired of it.

As a Dem, I'd rather see the DNC concentrate on actual candidates for office. Limbaugh is a buffoon and most people already get that.

It's nice to see the Democrats spending time on important things. It's not like the economy is bad right now!

I am by no means a Rush fan as even Obama is too conservative for me but it makes me sick when I think about how dirty the game of politics is. We are one nation with the same problems and it pains me to think that this bickering is taking the time of our leaders. Whats so funny about peace love and understandng?

Wow! Can you say OBSESSED? The Dems are so afraid of losing in four years (which they will), they are already starting to trash talk – and a TALK SHOW HOST, no less. How DESPERATE can you get? I'm not a Rush follower, but I'd take him over Olbermann, Piglosi or Reid ANY DAY. Man – what slimeballs dems are. Ick!

DNC morons! Americans are out of work, their kids displaced from their homes, families seeking food aid, and these clowns are out putting up road signs disparaging a non-political entity who can do no harm to their party. Distractions, diversions, DNC morons!

We are looking at this all wrong. Someone needs to ask the question, "If you thought Obama's policies and inept strategy and tactics were going to destroy the country, would you want him to succeed?" I truly hope people would reply, "No, I would want him to fail."

Good, let the country see how far removed the GOP is with the rest of America!

The GOP got us in this mess, and Rush just keeps on reminding everyone of that fact

Rush is already the STAR of the RNC Dog and Pony Show, so the DNC should very much take advantage of him 😉

It would seem to me that the DNC has many more problems to worry about than what a radio host says about them. But I guess taking out any dissenting voices is what any start up oligarchy would do in order to cement their power.

  21. Funny Liberals

Keep going, Democrats and liberals. You're increasing Rush's radio audience daily. Plus, you are so focused on your own partisanship, you're not bright enough to understand that Rush Limbaugh is the "Leader of the Conservative Movement" not "Head of the Republican Party"...two totally different groups. Limbaugh intelligently bashes the Republican party more than any of your illiterate "talking heads" in the Democratic Party. It's truly funny to watch a group such as yours continue to focus your energy and money on an "enemy" that you don't even understand and can't properly categorize. You people are a joke. Go finance some more media silence when your Great O. signs another illegal pro-union agreement as a payback for the millions in campaign financing they provided to him. Are you even aware of this? Do you even care?

While I think this billboard idea is sort of kicky and funny, in the end it just validates Limbaugh's self-importance. All he will do when he sees this is beat his chest to America and come up with some other inane comment dissing the Democrats; and then his pals Sean and Bill will likely join in. Who really needs this lame rhetoric spewing from Rush's mouth when what we really need is hope and optimism?

Yawn! The Democrats are turning a budget crisis into a catastrophe by spending everyone into the ground, so they show everyone an easy target to focus our liberal against.
    Isn't this a little like Orwell's 1984?

  25. Lush Limprick and Osama bin Laden have the same vision for America - FAILURE!

That was the one I voted for! And for all the dittoheads, NO ONE is trying to stifle the speech of the bald bloated bonehead. Just the opposite. we want the fat fart to keep blatherin' on!

However, EVERYONE has a right to freedom of speech. Limpprick can say he wants President Obama can fail. We in turn, can call Limpballs a douche bag. It is kind of how that whole freedom of speech thingy works.

And if it seems we are "attacking" Limprick, then maybe that is because he and his neo-con followers are in the MINORITY. We in the MAJORITY think he is an a$$ wipe and guess what there are more of US that is why it is call a MAJORITY. A reality that most neo-cons are still denying even after the blowout on 11.04.

Also, it doe not hurt that the repubs are leaderless and the Lush has stepped in to fill the spot. He has reached his expiration date. His popularity peaked in 2003 at 20 million, as of last December 2008 that was down to 14 million and dropping. So, let him be the voice of repubs, because the MAJORITY of Americans view him unfavorably. Only 27% of Americans view the repubs favorably so the more he represents the rabid right of the repub party the more marginalized the whole repub party becomes! And repubs cannot do squat about it. The need the funds of the KKK and White Supremacist and the bible beaters, that is why no repub will offend him.

See it is a win/win for Dems!
