Limbaugh to star in DNC roadside ad

WASHINGTON (CNN) - National Democrats plan to unveil a new theme Thursday morning in their ongoing campaign to portray conservative talk radio host Rush Limbaugh as the true leader of the Republican Party.

"Americans didn't vote for a Rush to failure," is the slogan that will be splashed across a billboard in Limbaugh's hometown of West Palm Beach, Florida, and printed on T-shirts, a Democratic National Committee official told CNN.

Limbaugh has said several times that he hopes President Barack Obama fails, a sentiment that has put elected Republicans in a tight spot during this time of economic crisis.

The DNC official said more than 80,000 slogans were submitted for the contest, and more than 50,000 people helped narrow the list to the top five.

The timing of when the billboard will be set up has not been finalized, the official said.

We should do a survey on Mike Steele. He says one thing to leftist and centrist groups and something 180 degrees different to the right. We should make a video of all the different views he has. The man is a nut and is the helmsman of your party Matt in Detroit.

Can they build a billboard big enough to hold Limbaugh and his ego?

Yes, lets divert the peoples attention from the fact that their 401k are gone, unemployment is on the rise, and the democrats are on the largerst spending spree in the history of the world. All in less than 100 days.

So instead we will get every bodies anger pointed at a talk radio host who holds no position of leadership, has no authority over budgets, and has no impact on the economy.

While we are it, CNN don't you have any news yet on Palin today!! wait for it here it comes.... 3 2 1

Since you closed the comments on Texas, I will respond here instead. I was born in Texas & here I will stay. I'm proud of it. We have a beautiful state & people. We have a lot of problems especially with the border; a lot of you people would not want to cope with it & neither do I but we all have our crosses to bare. I have heard a lot of talk about "underground" stuff going on & was shocked. I guess I'm nieve. It has a lot of people thinking I guess what COULD happen but I think it is all just talk. I know I don't want to see anything happen to Texas. If it was your state in the news, I'm sure you would be getting stupid, "funny" but not so funny comments too about something or other. So PLEASE do not knock Texas & HER history & people. WE ARE just people like you & your families. There's one bad apple in everyones crate.

If the Dems would spend as much time governing as they do trying to convine people that Rush is the head of the Republican Party we might stand a better chance of having some positives happen. Quit chasing the boogieman, Dems are in control of the federal government, try governing for goodness sakes. Its easier to create and chase boogiemen than it is to be in charge. Too bad for the American people, Dems are going to waste the next 4 years acting like they aren't in charge and the boogieman is responsible for all that is wrong whi,e the Dems do nothing to fix it. Keep the focus on what it ought to be, governing not campaigning for the next election before you even do anything this time around.

So the ad is suggestign we should move more slowly into failure? I guess that's consistent with the Obama porkulus plan.

What is the differnce between what Rush said and what liberals were saying throughout Bush's presidency regarding Iraq? Tell me please. Liberals wanted Bush to fail so much, it was a self-fulfilling prophecy in that we actually DID fail in Iraq...... until he implemented the surge over left wing objections.

Come on DNC. Get over it! Doing crap like this is only going to encourage Rush, and whether you like it or not, there is no other host that can compare to him as far as the following he has.

Give it a rest! I'm a die hard Republican and I mostly agree with Limbaugh but he certainly DOES NOT represent the Republican party, no matter how hard the Dems try to convince you.

Rush told us the honest opinion, what is DNC's problem?
Why waste money for slogan? DNC proved they are very stupid at Primary Election, so put Obama in White House. Now what they want from us? I don't trust them, they are liars.

Myself and many others hope obama's policeys fail. Rush has stated many times, he is not nor does he want to be the leader of the Rep. party. This whole thing is something the Dems. have cooked up to distract people from what obama is doing. Hopeing people won't notice how he is making things worse.

Once again, if you don't like someone, don't listen to them. Let me give you an example; I don't like Oprah, Immus, or Jimmy Swaggart, just to name a few; consequently, I don't listen/watch them. You see how easy it is, and I don't have nearly the rage built up against these people that you liberals have against Rush.

Why is CNN so hypocritical. They talk about the Chris Brown/ Rihanna fight but yet they aren't talking about the model from real housewives of New York who is charged with abusing her boyfriend or the former GOP chairman in Chicago who was beaten by his wife.
CNN AND NEWS MEDIA EQUALS HYPOCRITES AND NOT EQUAL!~

Well, since they closed the Chuck Norris thread, I'll comment here, thank you very much.

Ha! where do these looney tune characters come from? Be careful how you speak in public, Chuckie. That Patriot Act will have those Letter People after you. You know, CIA, FBI, NSA, ATF....

OOOH, snap! "Americans didn't vote for a Rush to failure," boy, you Dems sure are whitty ones aren't ya? Spend millions of dollars and that's the best you can do? Bet you had your heads flushed in the toilet a lot when you were in school.

We have a president who whenever he or any of his cabinet opens their mouth the rest of America says, "Oh crap" and the stock market dives. A president who cannot speak in public without a teleprompter. A power hungry psycho running the House of Representatives. And what is the party that all these idiots belong to doing? They're putting up a flippin' billboard because a radio commentator publicly echoes the view that MOST AMERICANS have.

What's next DNC? Ground Rush, send him to his room with no supper?

But on the plus side, this is just another sad tactic of a political party that is well on its way to irrelevancy.
