'Kiss my fat ass,' says Meghan McCain

Last week, Ingraham mocked McCain on her radio show after the daughter of former GOP presidential nominee John McCain urged Republicans to seek compromise with Democrats. Ingraham called McCain “a Valley Girl gone awry” and a “plus-sized model.”
McCain, who writes about politics and her personal life for The Daily Beast, went on The View on Monday to fight back.
“What do young women think when I speak my mind about politics and I want to have a political discussion about the ideological future of the Republican Party, and the answer is, ‘She’s fat, she shouldn’t have an opinion.’ What kind of message are we sending young women?” she asked.
“It infuriates me,” she said. “I’m a political writer on a blog, and all of a sudden I’m too fat to write?”
The View’s conservative co-host, Elizabeth Hasselbeck, called Ingraham’s remarks “a low blow.”
McCain said she felt like Tyra Banks when the model “went on her show in her bathing suit and said, ‘Kiss my fat ass.’”
“That’s what I feel right now,” McCain said. “I’m like, ‘Kiss my fat ass!’”
Ingraham quickly responded to McCain once again on her show, telling McCain that she needs to learn to deal with satire and “teasing.”
“Can I say ‘lighten up,’ or is that offensive too?” Ingraham asked.
I'm enjoying how the Republicans have turned on themselves and are now eating their own. But isn't all this in violation of the Republican God and Idol Ronald Reagan first commandment? Thou shall not speak ill of another Republican. Nancy must be turning Ronnie over in his grave
Good for Meghan, these conservs think they could say what they want, to people and think know ones gonna lash out. Please, the repigs need to get over themselves and come together.

Laura – that comment turns off most women whose body is similar or even bigger than Meghans. So what, are all Repub women skinny? Is that the only way you can get their men to marry them? Is that why the GOP is so unhappy because they're hungry? Just wondering...
Laura Ingraham is an Ann Coulter wanna-be. Sad that anyone would aspire to spew such hateful (and frequently factually dead wrong) rhetoric. Truly one who believes the saying, "There's no such thing as bad publicity."
Attacking someone on their weight for espousing a political view contrary to one's own is the polemical equivalent of holding your breath to win an argument.
Laura has the IG of donkey doo doo and the manners of a cockroach. I'd tell her to kiss my Repulican fat arse, except I don;t want her anywhere near me or my Republican Party. Whenever you see a personality like Ingraham ranting like this, it is becasue they have no talent; no knowkedge; and therefore nothing of substance to say. Ms Ingraham's limited knowledge of political issues would make a warthog sound like Einstein.
Meghan, Not only did I support your father, I support you as well. People have to talk. Look at it like this they are talking about a good subject and just letting some other poor soul rest. Keep your head up and walk tall. Walk the walk and talk the talk. You are a beautiful person inside and out and people are only jealous.

Whether it's Rush, Laura, Ann, Bill-O the Clown or any of the other brainless conservatives in the media... they just can't help showing how STOOPID, hateful and intolerant of everyone else.
This is the reason why they've lost big-time in the last two elections... and will keep losing more elections as well. We have these people to thank for the Republcian party becoming a casualty of evolution.

Didn't hear any complaints when Gov. Arnold S. said Obama needs to put some meat on his "skinny legs". This is not to say I agree with name calling but how soon people forget until it happens to them.

Megan is hot and for God's sake, she has the ability to think rationally. The republican party would do well to increase her visibilty and others who think along her lines.

Ingraham's remarks were neither "teasing" nor merely "a low blow". They were denigratory, impertinant and dishonest. Par for the course for the extreme republican blowhards. McCain is showing a natural political style that is both truthful and powerful. Ingraham is out of her league, and really needs to just let her betters talk.

I do not believe for one second Laura Ingraham meant that as "satire" she meant the comment literally and is out of line. If Laura Ingraham wants to comment on the content of Ms. McCain's comments, that's one thing but to dismiss her by calling her "plus-size" is way out of line! I for one agree with Ms McCain that Republicans need to seek ways to comprise with Democrats. We have serious problems that can be solved by working together.
I am, and never will be, a Republican. But what Laura Ingraham said is totally out of line, rude and ignorant. We as members of opposing parties, can agree to disagree, fight for what we believe in, and have healthy, meaningful discourses without stooping to junior high school name calling. For Ingraham to try and claim she was teasing insults the intelligence, regardless of party. To Ms. McCain I say, YOU GO GIRL!
Whenever Ingram or Coulter get called out they fall back on the "It was only satire or humor excuse". When have either of these women ever been mistaken for a comedian or a satirist? Not a funny bone in either of them. It was an outright attack by Ingraham who tried to pull her punch so as not to offend John McCain. Now that the criticism is coming from within the Conservative party extremist like Coulter, Limbaugh, and Ingraham are feeling misplaced because they can't use their hate-speak on their own members.
It's a pity that Ms. Ingraham would choose this route of attack. She clearly is devoid of any political skills if all she can do is comment on how someone looks. It's another example of just how much the republican party is out of touch.
The fringe elements of this country (on both sides) are being cast adrift. Horray for those of us in the middle.
Meghan – while I don't always agree with your views on the issues, I have come to respect you a great deal. You are a credit to young woman for standing up for yourself and for taking on some pretty nasty people. Keep making us proud and reminding us what America is all about.
